Yeah, I somewhat agree. Although I think SMG1 was over rated - SMG 2 was better in almost every way and deserved a higher mark.

The problem with dishing out 10's is that by definition you can not get anything better. Which means that older games either need to be re-scored as they age (which would highlight the true classics), or reviews need to define why a sequel scored less.

Either Edge are saying that LBP2 is not as good (which they are not), or tha...

There's something about Edge's reviews - good or bad - that just grate with me these days (this comes from someone who was a long time subscriber to the mag until a few years ago).

I dunno if it's a slightly pompous attitude or their ability to nitpick, rather than objectively criticising games, that annoys.

I think Edge painted themselves in to a corner by giving LBP1 a 10 (iirc) - it left them no wiggle room. So even though it seems LBP2 is ...

You can do either.

There are PvP servers (Player versus Player) and PvE (Player vs Environment). You choose which type of server you want to play on when you create your characters (On some MMO's you also have RP servers - which stands for RolePlaying - where everyone is expected to act in character in chat and behaviour - but not sure DCUO is going to launch any specific RP servers)

Both server types involve players teaming up and taking on the AI, but...

2010 was a great year for quotes. Some funny stuff there.

I'm also in the beta, and the game is solid. I've only hit around lvl 9, so not seen too much of it yet, but what I have seen is quite nice.

It's obviously influenced by a lot of other games - but for me the early game is superior to Champions Online (which I am a lifetime subscriber) - it just feels more fun.

The biggest problem for me is the business model on the PS3. I just can't see how gamers are going to pay full price for the game, an...

I don't think either console is maxed out - but the gains seen on the 360 are definitely smaller than those on the PS3.

Whether this is because MS has a lack of 1st party devs and proprietary game engines; or simply because the hardware is starting to top out, I dunno.

Both systems have some great looking games.

Dead Nation needs to be on that list

What annoys me about all these comparisons is that we're supposed to be GAMERS. And yet the things people are nit-picking over is graphics.

Sure graphics can help the immersion in a game - but for me Mass Effect was always

1. The Story
2. The game play
3. The graphics / sound

Mass Effect actually has a decent sci-fi story running through it (not amazing, but decent enough compared to most video games). The game play is f...

2010 was definitely the year I dusted off my Wii again.

Got so many games still to complete!! :)

Tempted by Fragile Dreams - sounds intriguing.

Yeah, probably the best year ever for PC Indie games - and I think that's in no small part thanks to Steam.

Yeah, apparently having fun on a game is a crime on N4G sometimes.

I loved MW, hated MW2 and WaW, but really like Black Ops. Having plenty of fun although haven't had chance to play in a few days. Rarely encountering these bugs and issues that are supposedly making the game unplayable.

There's no excuse for a billion dollar selling game to not get patched quickly, or launch with a lot of bugs - but Black Ops doesn't appear to be as bad as people...

And there's also the point that a lot of these remastered PS2/Xbox games were AWESOME in the first place. So giving gamers an opportunity to play them in HD is a great idea.

A lot of gaming websites / 'journalists' criticise these remakes because they see it as ripping off consumers.

What they fail to remember is that a lot of gamers have only just got their first console this generation - so having HD remakes of Sly, God of War, Team ICO games and Halo is a GOOD thing.

Personally I prefer God of War 1 and 2 over #3 and Halo CE is my fave Halo game, so in my opinion HD remakes are awesome.

As soon as I sa...

@EVO

I would say it's quality vs quantity. Both platforms have great titles, but I prefer the stuff on PSN.

And if we are arguing the quantity angle - I'd say Steam kicks both PSN and XBLA's backsides. And at the moment they have some great offers on Indie game packs.

I pretty much agree with that.

Sony's diverse line-up of games - both retail and PSN is the reason the Playstation brand is so good.

There's absolutely no way I'm going to take a risk on DC Online at £39.99 (even allowing for discounts on the RRP at retailers and online).

I can only see this game failing badly on the PS3, unless they drop the price of entry significantly, and quickly. At £39.99 it will also struggle on PC, considering people are used to paying £24.99 for PC games and have City of Heroes/Villains (well rounded and content packed - even if it showing it's age) and...

Bizarre scoring there. The list of Wii and PS3 games was varied and interesting. The 360's was stagnant and predictable - and yet it gets the highest score of the 3.

Not sure at all how the PC can be scored so high either. It had some awesome games, but nothing better than the consoles.

5657d ago 11 agree2 disagreeView comment

Both consoles had some great games in 2010 - but I can't agree with their conclusion.

What's the point of making a couple of lists of exclusives, then declaring the 360 the winner based on one title. Not very objective.

And the very concept of the article was lame - It's OK to include Splinter Cell and Mass Effect on the list because they are not on PS3, rather than because they are actually exclusive to 360. Rubbish! I own a 360, and yet I pla...

Ah, a sensible, non flaming response... A rarity on N4G, thanks Armyntt +bub

Four areas I'm disappointed with the MS direction.

1. Lack of exclusive games
2. 'Good enough' is their bar of excellence
3. Lack of risk taking in areas where I'm interested
4. MS' lack of clear strategy.

1.
There is a lack of exclusive games I want to play on 360. When MS started to spin off it's 1st party s...

If MS/Ninty had a graphic that showed the advantages they hold over the PS3 then we'd see it, that's for sure.

What's MS gonna put on theirs? 'Kinect' and err, ummm, 'Marginal superiority in some multi-plats, that's if you have a magnifying glass and time to count pixels'. Not sure that makes a compelling infographic!!

But then again maybe MS could just pump a few more million in to an advertising campaign that brainwashes th...
