How many times are we going to hear 'Game X will change gaming forever'.
I have no doubt that the game will be awesome, but there have been very few instances of gaming getting changed forever; and this won't be one of them.
What! You serious!?! Say it ain't so!
This link from late Jan this year suggested it was at least a strong possibility and maybe already in development...

What a shame if it's been canned.
EDIT: this gives me some hope... 5139d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment
Seems like the reviewer really loved the game, so 9.5 sounds fair, and the review is fairly objective.
My score would be maybe 8.5.
As much as I like the Dirt series, where's the new Grid?
... and Kinect
A 4 or even 6GHz CPU sounds reasonable in a 350 - 450$ machine?... and DX11 being licensed from MS on to a competitors console?... Not sure that's what I would call reasonable.
The bit I liked was... a 4GHz dev kit... followed by a 6GHz...
a) WTF?
b) What sort of power draw would a 6GHz chip need!
c) Who is supposedly supplying this monster chip that is faster than anything on the market outside of custom cooled overclocking rigs!
And... what are the chances of MS licensing out it's proprietary DirectX API's and standard to a competitor...
I've not got much sympathy for anyone getting their account 'hacked' as these are obviously brute force attempts.
Blizz provide the methods to secure an account easily. It's foolish to not use the authenticator and a decent strength password.
Considering the development time, this seems to have fallen way short of it's potential.
The only people Metacritic matters to, is those developers who have bonus payments linked to metacritic score.
The crazy and rabid far outweigh the sensible and measured on this site! It's one of the reasons to keep coming back!!
(Although I would add that some of the more fevered members appear to have moved on - or maybe clawed their own faces off in a moment of crazed fanboy moon madness - probably linked to NPD figures)
Having been on N4G for a lot of years it's cool that the site is getting big name recognition... but after seeing thousand upon thousands of childish, ignorant, abusive, fanboy arguments, it still feels wrong that a big name developer would call the site 'balanced'. :D
Yeah, mainly control issues. I have tried a few freebie FPS games but they just didn't feel right. The 'weight' of a mouse / keyboard, or joypad just can't be replicated on a touch screen easily.
I'm not saying FPS / TPS games will never work on touch screen, and maybe NOVA 3 breaks that trend, but out of all the genres that have transitioned to touch controls, FPS are by far the hardest to get right.
I've been steering well clear of FPS and TPS games on my iPad, but for a few quid this seems like it's worth a go.
Most people I know who complain about games are those with some sort of entitlement mentality. They think they deserve the game NOW and want to pay as little as possible.
Nearly all games get a price drop soon after launch, and / or a re-release on budget - so gaming can be extremely cheap. Factor in that there are often 'Game of the Year' or other editions that include all DLC AND are released at budget price and gaming is really cheap - but only if people are will...
Your comment proves my point... They need synergy, and should have synergy, but they don't.
There's plenty of information on the web about how departments worked on competing products, in silo's, and people spent more time creating empires than working together.
I read an article a long time ago about how the division creating the Sony MP3 player that was supposed to go up against the iPod was built in complete isolation from the division writing ...
Not sure of Australian law, but I believe in most places, that when a company goes in to Administration all assets are frozen.
This means they can't give the money back even if they wanted to.
Individuals who have given money to GAME will need to get added to a list of people owed money. This should be announced in due course if a rescue deal can not be put together,
The worst case is that the Administrators have to sell off all the GA...
Interesting times for Sony.
We can all be armchair analysts, but to me (as an armchair analyst!) it seems clear they need to restructure to get out of the silo'd mentality they've had for years. Any company where the various hardware and software divisions don't talk, but need to work together is doomed. There's been plenty of examples of this in the past from them.
Unfortunately that is only half the battle - as it also takes a culture chan...
I'm pretty sure that the PSV + PS4 interaction / compatibility will be a key pillar in Sony's strategy next gen.
Nothing to worry about with the PSV - it's here to stay, and will only get better.
The bottom line is.. is the PSV profitable for Sony? If it is then there's nothing to be concerned about.
IF Sony have a megaton for E3 (and we've been pretty megaton-lite from all the big players in recent years), I doubt this is it.
It would be cool to play streaming games, but it also excludes so many people with slow internet connections. Definitely a nice addition to the Sony stable of products / services, but not exactly mind blowing.
