This is the best comment ever around here! Every person who argues here daily should really think about Numark's posts. Bubbles ++

Try playing DEUS EX or some similar masterpiece RPG. Deus Ex got almost universal acclaim for it's storytelling and gameplay, and it's one of the best games ever made with a reason, and was nowhere near hyped as MGS4.

Here's a link:

I agree with you on this. Japanese developers really know how to add emotional touch to great story.

Oh, god! Please stop!

Best graphics ever, best action ever, best story ever....... enough! It's excellent game, with good graphics and intriguing story. It's far from the best ever. Deus Ex (the first part), Planescape: Torment, Fallout, Shenmue are examples of fantastic and deep storyline/storytelling, not MGS4.

Don't take me wrong, the game IS excellent, but don't force it into "best ever" category(ies) because it simply isn't there.

OK, I could be wrong over this, but I don't think it was pre-alpha. More like ALPHA or something....

We all saw, in 2002. when it was leaked from E3, the ALPHA version of DOOM 3. It barely worked. Just imagine now what is PRE-ALPHA stage of development. In KZ2 "PRE-ALPHA" we saw no-bugs, working level with working AI.... That cannot be "PRE-ALPHA".

Anyway, we should get back on topic until mods delete all this as a SPAM. :)

@chidj2:

The point is that what people saw a few months ago was not pre-alpha, and I saw comments above regarding that.

I love wiki, too. :)

@Fishy Fingers:

Sorry for using "fanboy" term. I'm really not into arguing on the internet. Going to edit my previous comment right now.... ;)

I love these "PRE-ALPHA" comments, and you should know there's no such thing as working "PRE-ALPHA". There are ALPHA, BETA (1, 2...) and FINAL BUILD.

"PRE-ALPHA" would be just unplayable source code - unfinished engine.

So, what you guys saw several months ago, when KZ2 gameplay was shown, was FAR from "PRE-ALPHA". So stop talking crap.

BTW, game looks really nice.

EDIT:

I forgot "REL...

@Egzekutor:

And how exactly CPU core can be used as a memory module?

Well, I can say that Crysis blows away just about anything on the PS3 or XBOX 360. HAhahahahahaaaaaaa. There. I mean, how does this sound? Yes, I know - idiotic.

Seriously, guys, quit fighting about something that 99% of people here are clueless about. Most of you don't know ANYTHING about hardware or software engineering, but you act like you do, and that's really.....well - idiotic. :)

100% agree! btw, love your avatar! :)

Judging from these screenshots (and a video I saw earlier), the graphics hasn't improved much. Hope the gameplay itself will be at least as good as the original F.E.A.R.

Well, honestly, I don't see any "weak visuals and bad textures". Really, I think 4.5 is little too low. I think HAZE deserved at least 6.5 or 7...

Great job! Very realistic!

Do you guys play graphics, or games? :roll

Come on, both Gears 2 and KZ2 look great in their own way. KZ2 is better in details department, and GoW 2 bring more "cinematic drama" style graphics. ;)

Oh, and wait 'till both games are out, and then judge (remember how hyped Lair was, and look what happened).

Don't forget the announcement of DEUS EX 3 ;) ! ! !

Thank god for GAMER ZONE. We (gamers) won't have to listen to those idiotic fanboys and "flamewarriors"...

PS3's CELL is more powerful than Xenon, but I think that what really make a difference are developers, not hardware. If those devs who made GT5 (Prologue) was developing that game on X360, I believe they would achieve same results in terms of graphics. Same goes for Resistance and Uncharted. Those devs are simply better than others.

For example: Remember PS2 vs Dreamcast days? Remember how good Shenmue had looked and played, better then most PS2 games, and Dreamcast's hardware ...

I see people like to make analogies around here, so I'll make another one:

Playstation 3 vs Xbox 360 today is the same situation like NVidia vs 3Dfx in the period of Voodoo graphics, Voodoo2 and Voodoo3 vs Riva128, TNT, TNT2. Nvidia pretty much won all the benchmarks (higher 3DMark scores...), but never delivered better performance in-game. 3Dfx was better when it came down to actual performance, not synthetic benchmarks. Nvidia braged with TNT2's ability to render 2048x2048 te...

Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day, PS3 is more powerful system (when you sum all "FLOPSs" :)), but not THAT powerful as many around here would like to believe. Xbox 360 GPU is excellent because of the embedded memory. PS3 CPU is very powerful. But, as I've said before, it's how you use those powers is what matters. You can have 10-core CPU, but if programmer does not need 10-threaded problem to solve, those cores are useless. My opinion is that...

@bootsielon:

Man, have you ever heard for data movement problems between multiple cores? Too many cores does not necessarily means "better". Efficiency is the key. It's how you use your hardware is what matters, and all will eventually come down to that. I would rather program on the hardware I'm familiar with, than to throw out of the window everything I know about programming, and start over again.

I can say you probably are more experienced engineer/...
