What in that rumor even insinuates RDR? Just the "frightening" bit? Even if you were hanging on that tiny obscure thread, why would anyone tease the dlc & not the actual game itself?
Even beyond that, what about "4 player co op" insinuates RDR in any way? RDR had an online component, but 4 player co op makes absolutely no sense within it.
It's obviously either Left 4 Dead or Dead Rising 4. L4D most fitting considering the 4 pla...
You forgot NMS & GT on the confirmed exclusives front, likely along with a nice handful of the more anticipated indies...also Mafia 3 on the third party front is sounding amazing....no one will be hurting for games this year at any point in time, so unless Horizon is the only game that really matters to you, the delay isn't too bad.
Haha same here....kinda sounds like a mixture of Peter Cullen & John Goodman too. Whoever it was, pretty great v.o....games have really stepped up their talent in that area this gen
Shame that most every other comment is solely about the delay....that trailer was phenomenal. Honestly I get the criticism that Guerrilla aren't typically great at telling stories, but this trailer alone was deeper than most entire games get. This thing is looking amazing, and there's a lot we can surmise from it....first off the variety of locales within a single open world is amazing...snowy ruins, lush green lands, desert cliffs...looks like we will be playing as young Aloy at some...
@moldy
"what aaa games are confirmed now for this holiday besides gt sport which could also get delayed?"
As of now, TLG is a lock, coming on the heels of NMS & among all of the big third party games.
I'm not sure why it really matters either way, there are games to be played w/ or w/o Horizon during the holiday. I mean, I agree that the frequency of delays are definitely disappointing, and Sony is the main offender, b...
The game has just moved a couple months...still looks amazing & will still come along if that's the only game that could justify your purchase. Could be worse, they could've pulled a Fable Legends & canceled it entirely, or they could've pulled a QB & made it multiplat at the last minute, potentially negating your purchase altogether.
"What the media and gamers hyped up in 2013-14 was a fairly deceitful impression of what the game offered after having played it."
That seems to be the narrative around most of the online mp only games full stop really. They get hyped to all hell in the media & from gamers pre release, then they drop off within a couple weeks after the honeymoon period is over. I think there is a key to success for any model but it doesn't seem like devs have found that ye...
Yeah, I'm far more interested in their Star Wars game...having Stig at the helm certainly helps that out a bit. What Respawn needs is their own unique personality. The Titanfall line was "CoD with Mechs", and now CoD has mechs so they look pretty similar. Respawn is still a brand new studio so it'll take time to find their footing, but if they keep up I could see them doing well w/ TF2 if they really put in work into the campaign. I know a lot of fans say they don't care...
The only Ubi game that never receives a downgrade to my knowledge is Rayman. Really thirsty for a new one...Michel Ancel is a beast, I'm hoping he's working on a new Rayman along with Wild. Would love to have an entire Rayman title based around the music levels, that was rhythm gaming done right, just fun as all hell. Nothing Ubisoft could announce would get me more pumped.
Correction, PS4 has at least 2 undeniable classics. Bloodborne & UC4 aren't just "big exclusives", they are both their own respective high water marks for this gen.
Xbox One doesn't have a single game in that realm of quality. Some tastes may vary, maybe Halo 5 is the most fun you ever had with a game, but the general consensus is exactly that, and there isn't a single XBO exclusive that approaches the universal praise that those games got. Sunset ...
I'm not sure that Xbox can turn the tides against Playstation this gen, the gap is just too wide & that doesn't change overnight, new hardware or not. If Sony presents their own upgrade option, gamers will be more likely to stay in the community they already invested in at the start of this gen over jumping ship to Xbox. The PC integration could help bring another large community into the fold but that would present it's own challenges, namely the k&m combo being superior ...
To be fair, it's been pretty well known that the mods coming to console would make more effects to gameplay than graphics. Both consoles still have fairly similar constraints, so you can't really expect ICE mod type improvements on either console. I'm not a huge Fallout fan but just tangentially I've seem that much really....these mods will only get cooler, but these specific ones are tied to two hardwares that aren't power PC's...the draw seems to be the new gameplay ...
@soul
"Most of xboxs games last e3 had gameplay footage."
Except for Recore & Sea of Thieves....the only 2 games announced for Xbox last E3. MS is the king of CG trailers, so that's a stretch.
Also, MS showed off Fable Legends, a game that no longer exists....call out the long wait for TLG all you like, but at least Sony gamers will actually be able to play it, can't say the same for Fable fans.
I agree...I really liked Tommy as a character so I'd definitely like to see more of him, I'd like to see more of the continent, different unique settings like Arizona, Kentucky & maybe even Mexico (short hop from where they started) just to see that beautiful art direction in new locales....I'd also love to see some of that early time in the infection shown.
Honestly though I have no worries, whatever ND comes up with will no doubt be infinitely better than ...
"A new Tomb Raider first on Xbox reveal because the last one did quite well"
Is that line meant to be sarcasm? I mean firstly there's no chance that they will already be revealing a new mainline chapter barely 6 months removed from the last one & before the next game even hits PS4. If that were the case, Square should just go ahead & sell the IP to MS, because if we are getting a new title revealed to also be going the awful timed exclusivity route (a ...
I'm sure the known games will be their in full force as the entire thrust of the conference...Recore has to show some footage, I'm pretty sure Crackdown beta will end up being one of those "live right now!" Moments...we will see SoT, Gears, third party advertising deals like Battlefield, Slim announcement, maybe more in for on VR, more OS functionality stuff...
As far as new games though, I honestly think the show will be fairly thin...DR4 is kind of a loc...
Remedy really needs to work on their turnaround. I can understand that they like to operate with a smaller team, but it is absolutely possible to keep a high standard of quality w/ a larger pool of employees. Look at Uncharted 4 & TLOU for proof positive. For Remedy to truly grow as a studio they need to stop making new engines from scratch for every game & work towards pushing out more games. Especially now, w/ the mixed reception of QB, Remedy doesn't need that to be their last ...
I personally think they set up God of War 4 to continue Kratos' journey. The ending of 3 saw Kratos release humanity from their enslavement to the gods, then we saw the blood trail, so I think it'd be cool if they set up a new trilogy where Kratos goes to foreign lands & does the same for them. Let him kill the Norse gods in this one, the Persians next, then onward into a final one.
I don't necessarily think Kratos is key to the series either way, but a stor...
I only just now picked up the first one && I'm fairly deep into act 1 but I've gotta say, Aiden is already beyond fixing. I usually don't subscribe to character criticisms, people hated Delsin Rowe in Infamous & I thought he was serviceable, not amazing but not immersion breaking either....critics are dead on about Aiden && his entire storyline though. Dude turned in the most boring VO work I've heard in recent memory for a mainline game, and he was so unin...
