You can't just say "because I admit to enjoying the series, I can legitimately deny others' opinions on whether or not is a perfect masterpiece to their own tastes"....either way pretty sure you admitted in another thread to having not even played UC4 yet.

Uncharted is about the sum of its parts...maybe other games solely do puzzles better, or they focus in on shooting, but there are very few games that can string together all these aspects into one title ...

People keep citing these "videos" but they miss the entire point...the new XBO UI isn't "much faster" than PS4's, it just has more hotkey type shortcuts to things that people may never even access. I don't know the difference in the actual performance, but I'm pretty sure PS4's UI is still faster.

So ultimately for Rookie, Xbox VR is "so promising" because of rumors.

Meanwhile, in the here & now, PSVR actually exists, it is coming soon, and you don't have to buy an entirely new box to experience it.

Assuming that Scorpio even exists, then assuming that it'll somehow come in at 6 tflops, then assuming that it'll be VR ready for Oculus...are we now assuming that every Oculus title automatically works for Xbox VR? Are we als...

Gonna go out on a limb and guess you didn't mind the "missing features" at launch for Halo 5, and that you were fine w/ Halo MCC being launched w/ a broken mp though...

I was looking into checking it out, I loved the originals when I was a kid but my tastes have changed a bit...does the campaign stretch beyond just straight shooting gallery? I understand that there isn't a deep story, but any kind of cool throughline or change to the pacing? Any kind of extra game play mechanics beyond just shooting, like platforming or puzzles or anything? I'm definitely gonna check Doom out at some point, but I'm just hesitant to buy if the entire campaign just...

I kinda wish Creative Assembly would've kept pushing forward in new directions...I really dug Alien: Isolation, I'd love to see them try out a TPS adventure type title or just anything in that direction. I've never been really big into RTS' though so maybe they should stick there if that's where their fans want them to be.

Just saw a lot of promise in Isolation, especially for the studio's first foray into that type of game.

"Also, I have 4 siblings (2 brothers) and we may get mad at each other at times but not even that would make us hate the other."

Exactly my thoughts. It would ruin the tone of the franchise for Nate to have some literally insane brother...it would also mean that Nate had to legitimately do something to ruin his brother's life as well, which would break the character.

I personally love what we got, I've got a brother myself and this game ...

@Eidolon

No offense, but the vengeance angle is a pretty poor one, at least on the surface. It would essentially run against everything we've come to know about the character & about the franchise as a whole. For the vengeance storyline to make sense, Nate would've had to literally do something to screw his brother over entirely, leaving him presumed dead or rotting in jail by his own hand...in which case, how can we fully root for Nate when he destroyed his own...

@Fin

Did we miss something? It is only just now being considered for the XBO in a public sense...did they announce VR support for a platform that hasn't actually officially announced a VR solution before they've officially even announced the game itself is hitting the XBO? I'd assume that PSVR will be the only console VR solution for this game until confirmed otherwise. Even if MS will be pushing actual VR that doesn't necessarily mean that everything that h...

Highly doubt the poor sales of SF5 can be blamed on the game not launching on XBO...I mean throwing another potential 20 mill on top of a base that already stood at least around 80-100 mill ain't gonna make a huge difference. Not like the entire fighting game community solely plays on Xbox. A concurrent XBO release might have garnered them a few extra thousand sales on release, but it ain't like it would've completely corrected the ship.

SF5 sold poorly because ...

Could literally say the exact same thing about every other company. Hell Nintendo is the only one that does it a bit less often but even they are guilty of the practice too.

Look at MS, QB was announced at the reveal event & only now released, Halo floated around since reveal, Gears has hit multiple expos, Scalebound will have been around for at least 2-3 years before release, Recore announced a Spring date that it missed & we still haven't seen gameplay...Cuphe...

I want that dlc to be centered around Sam & Chloe. Those two are a perfect match of lovable scamps. Throw in some Sully since we didn't get a lot of time w/ him in UC4 & you've got a perfect dlc set up.

"you have the fanbase take a risk. I don't want another linear 3rd person climbing shooting game that's beautiful, you are better than that."

So basically what you said boils down to "I'm not a fan of your games, you have a strong dedicated fanbase, go ahead & betray them to make a game to cater to my non fan tastes so I can decide whether or not I will ignore it entirely."

Uncharted already makes 'deep & compli...

Agreed Khaotic...also @meche, MS may very well have software engineers that can create some kind of breakout box to get it to work, but just like PSVR doesn't solely work off of the base PS4, there is no chance that XBO can run Oculus entirely by itself w/o any form of outside hardware. Then the question becomes would MS announce & release VR w/in a month or two timetable for what will be something around an $700-800 expenditure for consumers?

The press release is d...

"Once you add the controller and camera it's one hundred dollars cheaper. But Rift bundled with Xbox Scorpio could be sold for $50 less since the Xbox already has a controller. So really it's just fifty bucks. "

You do realize that the controller for Oculus is just a standard XBO controller? If we are talking a 1:1 comparison, you'd either be talking about an extra charge for the Oculus Touch, which isn't available yet ...

Exactly...presentation is key. I could have the greatest story in existence, but if I have weak narrative clashing gameplay mechanics, obtrusive hud elements & other things that break immersion, the story comes off weaker & weaker. That's one of the reasons I love ND games, they keep everything minimal on screen, they direct the motion well w/ pitch perfect pacing, they diversify mechanics & they just have the cleanest most effortless presentations we see on consoles.

Yeah I agree w/ Yin, we won't see these upgrades at E3 yet. If the same rumors are to be believed, Neo won't be revealed until PGW & MS don't want to cannibalize slim sales by officially announcing Scorpio at the same time.

That said, these rumors w/ MS sound kinda reactionary to me. 6tflops would be a very lofty goal to hit, doubly so w/o losing vast amounts of money on each console sold. Considering MS execs & shareholders don't seem to have that m...

"PS owners will benefit from Sony first party studio's and exclusive games for PSVR. I Wish Microsoft had more first party studios"

Too true. Even if MS wanted to create exclusive content for their solution w/ Oculus, they don't have the studios to make it. As far as Oculus software itself, Oculus & Facebook owned studios are actually making content compatible w/ PSVR already, so it seems fairly obvious that Facebook sees a rising tides scenario, where...

Those are hardware restrictions on the console end, not necessarily device restrictions. From what I understand PSVR has far & away the best and most ergonomic comfortable build and a great set of lenses. Not sure on the resolution of the headset itself, I seem to recall it being a bit lesser than Oculus but only slightly so.

In terms of the unit itself, there aren't many sacrifices made. Sacrifices come down to the power of the PS4 vs. the power of the PC, which ha...

Seems to me the writing is on the wall not for the boy having to be the one that does that "something bad" to Trico.

They are making a big point about the animal being hard to control & contain. Trico won't be a tame housebroken pet, he is a wild animal, and he will have animal instincts. I'd say he goes off the reservation at the end of the game & the boy has to put him down to protect himself.
