This rumor is False.
Nintendo main sale pitch at last year E3 was about the controller. So I don't think Nintendo is crazy enough to say their new controller doesn't do what Nintendo says it was suppose to do.
Guys,
The real gamble here is whether Nintendo Wii U lives during the graphical comparison phase when the 720/PS4 comes out in 2013.
Though I am sure the Wii U is going to have some incredible looking graphics but if the Wii U falls too far behind in the graphical department in comparison to 720/pS4, the wii u will end up like the Wii.
So, I think the key to Nintendo success is to make lots exclusive to compensate for the lack of graphical po...
Wii Entertainment System sounds better than Wii U. But personally, I think Nintendo need to squash the whole wii thing altogether.
Besides, Sony and Microsoft went with a different name for their Next gen console..why can't Nintendo.
(this Gen) Sony PlayStation - (Next Gen) Orbis
(this Gen) Microsoft xbox360 - (Next gen) Durango
Here a start.....
Nintendo Maxim
Nintendo Revolution

Guys...
It is a lot easier for 3rd party developers to to scale down in game graphics, than it is to scale it up.
So the fact that Capcom decided not to make RE6 for the Wii U doesn't surprise me.
Perhaps this might be the case until the Wii U pick up some steam.
Personally, I think DmC looks a bit too flashy with Too much lights. Though DMC was suppose to be dark.
I know I know... its a circus setting.
well the reason for so many PROD/YLOD was in the design and not the components.
That said, placement of CPU, bad heat sink connectors, and improper placement of fans could in fact cause any type of CPU/GPU to over heat.
I guess I should of said weak instead of cheap.
Guys,
I think the biggest problem Nintendo is going to have with the wii U is not having enough Devs to make core games to keep up with all of our demands.
Though Microsoft and Sony is well equipped with lots of Devs to support their next Gen gaming console.
This is Sony's list of Devs... As you can here Sony is constantly buying out game studios every few years.
well, that because Nintendo have been in the toy making industry for years. That said, a huge part of their success was to insure every product manufactured under their roof passes a stress test.
The Wii U priced at $300 sounds reasonable, but if the Wii U hardware is manufactured with cheap components, than the Wii U might end up like the Wii.
So On the contrary I hope this is not the case.
@dark-hollow
what you fail to realize is that when you add AI, multiply characters and objects, physic, fully functional play mechanics, etc it poses a huge challenge for the game developers to keep things running all together with out any slow down, frame rate drop, Pop-ups, etc. And when complication does arises,a game developer would be forced to make changes, and take away/drop framerate/use less polygons or graphics just to keep things running beautifully with out any hi...
I have to agree with sidar. When you don't add AI, characters/objects, physics, etc to a Tech demo it means you're not getting the fullness of the console's processing power.
Also, the Zelda demo pre-scriped cut scenes rendering in real time doesn't really show off the real potential of the Wii U's graphic capability compared to actual gameplay.
So my questions is....
In the Zelda tech demo was Zelda fully controllable durin...
Because a Devkit has 16 cores doesn't mean the console will have the same amount of cores.
That said, the extra cores and memory is normally used for debugging purposes.
You're right almost every game Nintendo make is a Gem.I love Mario galaxy 1-2,Zelda, other m,etc. But game like Wii Sports,Wii fit mostly appeal to causal gamers/soccer moms. But that, did not last very long did it? I mean, the numchuck controller was cool in all at first but when the the wii controller fad got old, the only thing that was left to save the Wii was to produce some games with mean looking graphics.
But unfortunately,Nintendo Wii couldn't deliver due to...
Retro Studios and Monolith Software our great game developers but I think what Nintendo is lacking is the experiences to make core games that are as visually impressive like gears, uncharted, etc.
Now don't get me wrong, I m not saying that Nintendo is incapable of making games that are visually impressive.
what I m saying is we need more games that looks as visually impressive like we've seen in the Zelda demo.
But my own feelings is t...
Personally speaking,
The fact that Nintendo did not purchase a Game Studio this GEN gives me the impression that Nintendo is not serious about attracting core gamers for their NEXT gen console(Wii U).
Sure, we know that the Wii U will have plenty of support from 3rd party developers which is a Good. But not good enough if Nintendo primary goal is to give us all something new & fresh graphic wise.
Having the necessary hardware power by i...
Personally,
the only reason why most of us gamers here says the Wii U graphical capability is not a big deal is because we have nothing else to compare it to.
So when the PS4/720 comes out in 2013, I bet most of us here are going to change our mind and forget about the wii U if the rumor is true.
In other words, Nintendo better pack some serious power under the Wii U hood or else the Wii U will end up like the Wii.
Personally, I think Nintendo should release the Wii U on the month of Sept instead of NOV in order to keep up with the demand of unit sold before the holiday season arrives.
This article is pointless because graphics do matters, especially now that Nintendo has announced that their next gen console was specifically designed to attract core gamers.
And if the rumor are true, the Wii U will end up like the Sega dreamcast scenario.
Personally,
I don't think Xbox 720 will require an always-on internet connection as an anti-piracy measure considering how many people don't have internet.
Instead, I think MS would add WiFi feature build in to xbox720,that connect to a WiFi connection(it has already connected to before) automatically and update by itself.
That, to me would make more sense as an anti-piracy measure in my opinion.
Guys,
The only reason why Nintendo went for the casual market in the first place was because Nintendo knew they lack the core experience to make core games, and still do. Remember, Nintendo back in the nes days, only worked with sprites graphics which worked well for Nintendo. But now, Nintendo is struggling to keep up with the big dogs(Microsoft/Sony).
So, I doubt that Nintendo can provide us all lots of exclusives when the Wii U comes out because Nintendo doesn'...
