Stephen McGill should definitely shut up cause he's a freaking idiot.
Very, very few people will pay $60 just for access to a beta (a game that may or may not work correctly).
The Halo name brand and the inclusion of all the Halo map packs are what will sell ODST. I personally do not want to pay for all those map packs just to play ranked Halo 3 multiplayer which makes ODST a good deal for me.
Considering the fact that you need to own ALL the map packs to play Halo 3 ranked, I say yes, the game is indeed worth $60. I haven't bought a Halo 3 map pack and have no intention of doing so which makes ODST quite attractive.
WTF? People bash the PS3 for its high price and yet this guy recommends a laptop which is easily twice as expensive as the PS3? This is getting ridiculous.
I'm in as well.
Game was never an exclusive nor was it ever planned to be one (after all, the game is coming out simultaneously on the PS3 and 360). The only reason why it was announced for the 360 first was due to a marketing arrangement between MS and Capcom which forbade Capcom from announcing a PS3 version until E3.
We probably would have been able to see Lost Planet 2 running for the PS3 at E3 had it not been for the Swine flu scare which kept Capcom from showcasing many of their games (lik...
Kind of obvious that as they are ramping up the promotion of FFXIII, they'll tone down the exposure of Versus XIII.
However, I don't know what the site is talking about. Versus XIII didn't get a lot of coverage to begin with. Just the odd trailer at every TGS and Square event, which is exactly how Square does it for their FF and KH games. Give the public next to nothing for years and then months before the game releases, start flooding out the info.
A one hour tutorial is honestly way too long. That is why the other S-E produced title (Infinite Undiscovery) was panned for the hour plus tutorial in reviews.
It is also nice to not have to play a game for forty hours to get to an ending. From what the producer says, it makes it seem like more missions are optional in the US version which means after you beat the story, you can always go back to it.
It does still look pretty and these shots look better than the PS3 demo that I own (more optimization time helps). I have no doubt that when it releases in Japan this year, that the game will look gorgeous.
However, that is beside the point as this "article" should not have been approved. It is a forum post and those who approved it should have their approval power taken away.
What does WKC have to do with his post Noct?
Free on the PC, so don't know what you are complaining about. Unless you bought the 360 version. Then my hat's off to you.
This is a forum post. Should not have been approved.
-edit- Disagree for stating a fact? Sigh.
I thought this game was going to be vaporware? Especially since we still have no idea how this game will play and all we've gotten from the developer are proof of concept videos.
PC Gamers tend to let Valve slide, but blasted Bethesda for their DRM in Fallout 3. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ONLY A CD CHECK.
Hell, I'm personally fine with Steam as I don't have to use CDs for my Valve games, but you can't have that kind of double standard.
It should be out in a month or two or three. Just like all other IW patches for the consoles. It took months for IW to patch CoD 4.
Meh. PC users will just pirate anyway, citing "obtrusive DRM measures".
-edit-
Oh yeah, PC users just love DRM right? That must be why they gave Fallout 3 on the PC only 3 freaking stars on Amazon? That must be why my positive review of Fallout 3 PC got downvoted on Amazon?
No. Any pre-rendered FMV sequences will be kept the same between versions. Only difference is that the PS3 version will have a higher bitrate due to the space afforded by the BD. There is a reason for FMV in next gen, and it is primarily used to play cinemas that the engine is unable to render.
This article is stupid. One of the shots used was pre-rendered FMV!
-edit-
Can't believe I got a disagree. Anyone who saw the trailer that the shot came from, knows it was pre-rendered fmv! Jesus fvcking christ.
Sigh. And you know the footage comes from a more finished product because....? For all you know, S-E took that footage from an older build and have been sitting on it, waiting to charge you for the opportunity to see it. It has happened before with FFXIII footage (the trailer that appeared when the US FFXIII site launched for example was not a new trailer, but one that was previously screened for a private audience).
Until you get the final product in your hands, you'll never kno...
Jesus christ, why is everyone so keen on hating this game? Did it kill your cat and rape your girlfriend? If not, why don't we relax and wait for the finished product? I for one am pretty excited for it, especially after playing the PS3 demo.
This is almost as stupid as people thinking that Rage would be released on the PS3 in its current form. Square Enix is putting big bucks into this game. They'll make sure it looks good (unlike other 'B'/'C' list SE games *cough* Last Remnant...
Lol. One version has the typical JRPG hero aimed at Japan and the PS3. The other has the typical western shooter hero aimed at America and the 360. I for one think it is fvcking stupid to do that, but Square Enix has made a lot of stupid decisions of late.
