I'd say a similar God of War 3 bundle with a similar price point and 250gb HD would do the same, no?
I'm not sure it will have much of an impact at all. Essentially, these bundles don't really work as evidenced by the RE5 bundle, and this is being sold in March instead of the holidays (like the MW2 bundle). MS is taking a risk with this as every copy of FFXIII in each bundle was essentially bought by MS themselves.
It does have the Final Fantasy XIII logo... on its harddrive. Seriously.
I don't think casuals will just randomly want Final Fantasy XIII. In fact, it is quite niche, so niche that the biggest market for this game is actually Japan. Besides, a God of War 3 bundle that same month may do more to sway PS2 owners towards a PS3 any way.
Exactly. Both are equally stupid IMO and there is no need to really mention them.
Lol and Wada would be ousted for throwing away 2 million potential DLC sales in Japan.
MS paid for the games packaged in the bundle themselves, so in Square-Enix's eyes, those are already copies sold. I also believe this heavy marketing push is due to the deal that brought FFXIII to the 360; S-E likely breached an exclusivity contract with Sony to do it and MS made up for that by hoofing some of the advertising.
Lol. A bundle pretty much means nothing. Sony doesn't really do bundles for non-exclusive games to begin with so this isn't a surprise. What IS a surprise is how hard MS is pushing for this game in terms of advertising. Must be part of the deal that brought FFXIII to the 360.
Still, MS would have been better off with a Mass Effect 2 bundle instead of an FFXIII bundle.
Avatar items will probably be made available to people who want to buy it. Eventually I suppose.
My money is on avatar items. The PS3 version has Home items after all. And Square-Enix isn't stupid enough to give exclusive DLC to the 360 and leave behind nearly 2 million Japanese PS3 owners in the dust. Or are they?
-edit-
What do you know, it is avatar items:

This is truly a lame article designed to get hits and inflame fanboys. Xbox has BEEN DEAD ever since MS pulled the plug on its production. That is old freaking news.
Sigh. Then why make separate articles and post both of them to N4G? Oh yeah, to generate hits. This could have easily been combined into one article.
Analysis makes sense.
The CGI is there to render stuff that cannot be done in engine.
The in-engine FMV is there to hide background loading.
The real-time cutscenes are there to mesh with the in-engine FMV as there is no difference between the two.
And the actual gameplay graphics are slightly lower in quality than the cutscenes, a fact that holds true for every game.
What I thought was idiotic of DigitalFoundary though, was...
More for breaking the review embargo than anything else. 2/10/2010. I thought it was odd that I was reading Heavy Rain reviews last week that weren't print reviews.
Sigh. Sony has every right to blacklist whoever the hell they want to. Especially a webzine that broke an embargo. Online reviews are NOT to be released until Feb. 10 and all major US websites are adhearing to that. Why didn't the second largest French website do the same? What right do they have to not get punished for breaking said embargo?
It won't matter to anyone. 360 only owners don't have a choice, PS3 owners only have one disk to begin with, and multiplatform owners HAVE the choice to go with the PS3 version's one disk.
I don't know why Deep got two disagrees. He is absolutely right, according to what the article says.
Not even timed. It was flat out said that the PS3 and PC versions were being developed first due to Square trying to figure out how they would successfully market the game on the 360. Or something to that account.
They flat out said it was coming onto the 360 so I don't think this is news. PS3 and PC version will come out first due to their MMO friendly infrastructures.
Look at the sales of ODST. Anyone who owns ODST is in, hence "largest ever".
