I hope all versions have online play. It's pretty much given that the 360 will have it, so I'm keepin my fingers crossed for the PS3 and Wii. Inter-console play would be cool too, but it won't happen.

Cuppa, does your definition of "real game" largely refer to graphics? Will you be biased against a Final Fantasy for the Wii? Do you care that Super Smash Bros for the Wii has Solid Snake as a playable character?

IMHO, ME was a downgrade from 98. ME was a piece of garbage that was totally unstable for the most part. Aside from XP, 98:SE is the best Windows release.

Ya I think Square should've just stuck w/ the US naming conventions since that's what they were already doing w/ the 1st three FF games. I'm sure the jump from FF3 to FF7 was confusing for ppl who weren't really in the know. Nonetheless, I'll be happy w/ the current naming convention as long as they stick w/ it.

Just to make sure we're on the same page here, I was talking about US FF naming conventions, ie FF3 US = FF6 JPN. So just to reiterate, I've always felt that FF3 (which is FF6 in Japan) was better than FF7.
I personally have always felt that FF3 trounced FF7 in all aspects except for graphics. I think FF3 has a better story, a better musical score, and that it's just more fun. The materia system in FF7 just seems like too much work, and Knights of the Round was just ridiculous. I mean, how long did that summon take to finish? I seriously felt like my patience was being tested everytime I used it. I was actually so disappointed w/ FF7 that I never played any of the newer ones. I'm still a b...
It's sad but I think most 16-yr old gamers (males, at least) are going through that phase where they think they're "too cool" to play games like this.

I've said it before, but I'd really like to see some Wii-original games from EA and Ubisoft. In time, I guess.
I read the interview with one of the Jet Black founders, and he said they split from EA because they were touched by Nintendo's GDC speech about indi developer support. It makes me wonder if anyone else was similarly moved by the speech and if any other small dev teams are being formed at the moment.

I have yet to see PS3 Fan give a decent, open-minded comment on this site. A better-designed PCB does not necessarily correlate to performance, which is what I assume he/she is implying here. And if Microsoft should stick to software while Sony should stick to hardware, doesn't that also mean Sony Computer Entertainment's games and the PS3's XMB are garbage?

I agree w/ equis that larger capacity discs aren't a necessity and that having multi-disc games is no big deal. I personally was never bothered by multi-game discs but w/ HD games it will eventually become an issue.
@ Dlacy13g - I don't think Sony included BluRay support in the PS3 because they assumed that it would be the winning format. They included BluRay in the PS3 to MAKE IT the winning format.
Wow. Pretty impressive for the GBA. I don't think that'd be possible during normal gameplay tho.
You may be surprised by the fact that a console controller is not actually the best interface for all types of games.
