lol, you loathe a piece of electronics? Get a life.
That's the thing, almost everyone will base a game's quality on screenshots and forget that gameplay can't be accurately portrayed in those screenshots.
"Wait and see" is the best approach for any upcoming game.
My only question is, since when did Nintendo make consoles in the USA?
Having owned Tomb Raider on my Saturn back when it first came out and loving every minute of it, I will most likely pick this title up if there are improvements made other than just graphics. Are there any extra levels?
Bike Or Die huh... maybe there's a flash version... =)
Amen, and bubble up. You summed up flamewars and fanboyism the best I've seen on this site.
BTW, both that flash 3D table-tennis game and another flash game called Max Dirt Bike have been in my top-5 games list for the past two months. Funfactor is of the utmost importance when it comes to gaming of any kind.
We pretty much see eye-to-eye then, I take it? I agree that something (not just games) doesn't have to be innovative to be good. If that were true, there would be no sequels in movies, books, games, etc.
But you bring up a good point about things being improved upon somehow. What I respect about true innovation is that it's a huge risk in terms of improvement. There is no guarantee that a new idea or concept actually improves the experience over what's been done in the past...
You may misinterpret me as being a one-sided Nintendo fan simply because I focused on the innovation in Nintendo's games in this discussion, but I don't think anyone can deny that there is repetition to be found there as well. If there wasn't, there wouldn't be so many ppl who focus solely on that very repetition as a reason to dislike Nintendo, and choose to ignore the innovation altogether.
I too will play a game as long as it is fun. With that being said, just because a pa...
I totally agree with regards to the Mario Party series, as the 8th one is about to be released for the Wii. Megaman is one of the longest running franchises in videogame history but is a Capcom phenomena.
But while there have been numerous Mario platform games, there have also been some fairly recent game innovations using the Mario brand. Mario Strikers is a fairly new franchise, Mario Hoops on the DS is new, and the upcoming Mario/Sonic Olympic game is brand new.
...
When I think of a Mario game, I think of a platform adventure game. There's a difference between this, and a game that merely has Mario in it. Mario 64, Mario Kart, Mario RPG, Mario Strikers, Mario Party, and Mario Paint are all completely different types of games.
So is Nintendo rehashing games or characters?
As far as I've seen, adults have been far more interested in the Wii than kids. But these days many hardcore gamers (particularly testosterone-laden teen males) believe that they are "too cool" to have anything to do with Nintendo products, which are viewed to be "kiddy." If Nintendo can overcome these perceptions with games such as Manhunt 2 and No More Heroes, the Wii will be far more successful in the non-casual gaming world and therefore far more successful as a whol...
Wow, you've actually played ALL of those games to know how good their gameplay is? For a second there, I was under the impression that you were judging the gameplay of some of those games based on screenshots and hype. My bad.
I think the "MS Haters" you speak of use VGChartz for their numbers, which shows that the 360 has sold 9.71m worldwide.
With regards to any comments posted here on n4g, keep in mind that the majority of the members of this site are hardcore gamers and are therefore just a small slice of the Wii's userbase. While many hardcore gamers nowadays favor graphics and therefore see the Wii as a subpar console, the average consumer may care very little about graphics.
Regardless, predictions such as that implied by this article are just stupid in my opinion, especially since many n4g members are probabl...
Looks like you'll be pissing yourself for about 6 more days =)
No scientific study has ever shown that cannibus alone can compel someone to act violent, only government propaganda media such as the movie Reefer Madness.
Drugs may be bad for you, but particular drugs induce particular human responses. Caffeine, for example, does not inhibit motor skills the way alcohol does.
Every tidbit I've read about the game indicates that it will NOT use the motion-sensing controller capabilities of the Wii, as it just isn't appropriate for this type of game.
Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the Duck Hunt sequel I think everyone was/is waiting for, but is instead a duck-hunting simulator. I want the whimsical style of the original Duck Hunt, complete with the laughing dog that makes you want to shoot him too. Realism doesn't always make for a better game.
I agree, what really brought this whole situation to my attention was a news story I saw about how the children of today belong to the first generation to ever have a LOWER life expectancy than their parents. That really put things into perspective for me and I've since learned to limit my gametime and now go to the gym on a regular basis. I'm 24 and definitely want to pass on an active lifestyle to my posterity.
Foreal, how has Bionic Commando managed to not make a comeback yet? It's a classic.
