I didn't bother reading the article, but the title and opening statement is about as dumb as it gets. How about 1080p with some ultra settings to make the game look significantly better? Also what about big frame rate gains?
I mentioned in my first paragraph that I experimented with the eye to eye distance quite a lot. Made no difference in clarity no matter what the value was. And I tried pretty much every length between 80mm and 49mm or so.
All the eye to eye distance does is shift the image slightly left or right for your eyes so you don't have a feeling of double vision.
The biggest issue I have is the overall picture quality being pretty blurry, and I hope this is a limitation of the resolution vs being a defect in my unit. Anything just a few feet away from me is quite blurry, but if I bring an object up close to my face (such as the virtual controller) it looks nice and clear. It's as if my PSVR unit is severely near-sighted. I've done every calibration possible, and even tried experimenting with the eye-to-eye distance calibration by fudging th...
I currently use my Sennheiser HD8's for gaming, and they fit perfectly over the PSVR and over my ears. Also I just tried fitting my Sennheiser HD 555's (which should be identically sized to your 598's), and while they do fit, they don't quite fit perfectly around the ears since the earcup is a bit big and the PSVR band kinda gets in the way ever so slightly. But it is definitely do-able, and depending on how you fit the PSVR to your head, the band that causes a slight proble...
People are holding out for the pro, that's the biggest reason. I know a few people from work that want PS4's but are waiting for the Pro to come out, and I'm sure they aren't alone. At $399 for roughly 3 times the power of the OG PS4/XB1, I would imagine the Pro is a no-brainer for new console buyers.
Once the Pro releases the XB1 won't see another monthly victory until late 2017 when the Scorpio comes out. That month is sure to be a win for MS, and ma...
I'm having a blast so far. Its the strangest thing, but the experience I am having with PSVR is akin to the same feeling I get when going to a place like Disneyland and going on a ride like star tours or something. Its incredibly immersive, especially with high end headphones.
I really can't wait to see what else developers are going to do!
So far I am really enjoying my PSVR. It really has this kind of "theme park" vibe to it that reminds me a lot of Disneyland for some reason. It truley does feel like an experience rather than simply playing a game. Its very interesting!
My issue with it is that it doesn't work with my glasses. It does fit over them, but my lenses must stick out too far cause if I try to get a good light seal by bringing the unit in close, my lenses make contact with the VR ...
That's pretty neat, didn't even know about this glitch. Although I never updated past the first or second patches because the infinite money glitch was just too useful. Played the game not updated for like 6 months straight (I still haven't finished the game, but I'll go back to it during the next drought... If there is one).
Wow, time sure has flew by. The last several months have just been a blur. Hard to believe that the PSVR is launching in a little over a week. Glad I got my preorder in on the second wave at amazon.
I just hope this thing wears flawlessly with my Sennhesier headphones and works well with my glasses.
I never minded the grind aspect of Destiny, always gave me something to look forward to accomplishing (one of the biggest reasons the game can be so addictive). But my biggest pet peeve was that gamers who prefer solo play missed our on all the neatest, and best gear/weapons.
Would show some real talent on Bungies side if they could somhow make all weapons and gear available for everybody equally without sacrificing the challenge (or time spent) needed to obtain such ite...
And so it begins, the FUD crusade brought to you by the small handful of users on N4G who only own an XB1. At this point I kinda wish they actually had something to play rather than focusing all their time and effort trying to bring down the PS4 in any way they can here.
donthate and other Sony FUD spreaders are going to be trying their hardest to derail the PSVR. Near or at launch they are going to be flocking to the search engines looking for any website with any kind of negativity towards PSVR, then they are going to come to N4G and flood the news feed with these articles constantly in order to give the illusion that the PSVR is a failure and that people should avoid it.
I wonder if they removed the surveyed xb1 N4G players who all said they play 50 hours a day?
More power to them, that is one of the perks of living in a free society. But this freedom is a two way road, as we are free to not purchase their games based on their political beliefs.
I'm sure the goal for MS is to get out of the closed-console market since they are at such a huge disadvantage to Sony and lose each time. I'm guessing they are really going to be pushing the whole Windows gaming aspect since that is where they have the advantage.
My prediction is that Scorpio is basically going to be a hybird XB1 and Windows PC. Meaning the console will be able to play all XB1 games, as well as PC games (maybe not all PC games at first, but the do...
I have been thinking about this lately, but what if the Scorpio could also play PC games? IMO that would actually be a really smart move for MS, especially if they could somehow get Steam support (this would be huge).
The console is running off Windows 10, so it shouldn't be much of a stretch to allow it to play PC games. And with 6Tflop it would have enough power to run most PC games fairly well (about as well as a lower mid-range build).
If MS c...
Is the MS parity clause back? Given the hardware, this is impossible unless ps4 version is intentionally gimped.
Well, with the billion different builds you can do with a PC nowadays (having recently built a ~$1500 gaming PC from scratch myself), it makes sense developers are taking the easier, and quicker, route when it comes to optimizing games.
With consoles you have two or three set hardware configurations to focus on, vs the 50 billion+ variations you get with PC builds. And lets face facts here, when it comes to multiplat games (on console and PC) the console versions sell what...
Uh oh, looks like dudeOplenty is overdue for his "safe-place" time.
In the end its nice to have options. Not everybody is getting or wants a PSVR, so the pro will be the best choice for them. For those of us who want both, well time to start saving or just wait. I personally want a Pro, but to drop $400 more after sinking $500 into the PSVR is a bit much for me, so I might not get a pro until next year. But at least it will be available to buy when I am ready to buy it.
