Has he sales of the xb1s are very likely mostly "circle jerk" sales. Meaning the majority of those buying the slim already have the fat xb1.

The rate of unique users is probably only risen slightly.

They made an attempt, but that ended up banning a large chunk of the community in error.

I did my research on the game, watched all the videos about it, and based on what I had seen I knew I would like it. So I picked it up. And guess what? I'm really enj interested, b

It does have a hefty destiny vibe to it for me as well, and it also seems to have the same addictive grip. I had to try pretty dang hard to break my destiny addiction, I would have liked to keep playing but the game just has FAR to much emphasis on multiplayer activities. And all the best gear and loot was permanently locked away from lone wolf players like me. I hated not being able to get all the badass weapons and gear because I didn't want to do the raids, nor did I have the time. ...

It's been a long time since I have been eager to get through a days work as quickly as possible so I can go home and spend every waking moment of free time playing a game. Not even U4 had this effect as strongly as NMS does for me. There is just so much I want to do in the game, but there never seems to be enough time. Hours fly by like nothing.

The reality is, probably 70% of that boost in sales was people who already own an xb1 buying the slim.

It's kinda funny, but on the NMS disk for ps4 it has the SCE logo on it but no mention of the developer or Hellos logo. The case has both though.

Coming to xb1, possibly? Well it'll be nice to see all the troll reviews and negativity about the game dry up overnight if there is a chance its coming to xb1 as well. As the vast majority of the fabricated hate for the game comes from sour Xbox players.

They call Murray a mastermind for a reason, its an ingenuous plan to hint at an xb1 release in order to stop most of the negativity of the game. Gonna laugh if it never comes to xb1, as once they realize they aren&...

NMS is definitely an acquired taste kinda genera and is not for everyone. As for me, I freaking love it! Its the perfect fit for me and my tastes in games.

This is no big deal to the vast majority of NMS players. Anybody who has watched all the NMS vids prior to release knew that the games "multiplayer" aspect was really only about naming planets and stuff for the one in 1 billion chance somebody would ever goto the same planet as you by chance. All other aspects of multiplayer were mostly speculation. And it was repeated by Sean many times that we shouldn't expect to ever run into another player, as the chances would be practica...

The sprint button is the only part of the controls that didn't make any sense, no idea why Sean chose r3 as sprint. Maybe its been too long since he has played a fps game? Luckily the ps4 allows button mapping, so after swapping l3/r3 a few minuets into the game I was in business.

Yeah the second planet I visited was pretty Barron. But even so I can't help but wonder off for miles exploring and gathering materials. There is always something new the scanner picks up, and it really keeps me moving.

Then once I look back at my ship and see the timer for his long its going to take me to get back, I make a straight b-line back before I get too far out.

The game is a blast for me so far! And hours can go by before I even realize...

The planet I started on was probably the perfect "intro" to NMS I could have gotten. Tons of interesting things around, really awesome caves right near my ship, and come nightfall the glowing colors from all the various materials and plant was freaking awesome.

I noticed as I played last night that unless I was uploading data from discoveries, the prompt in the start menu indicated I was offline. It would go green at times, then go back to red.

Personally I am loving the game so far. Everything about it feels so old school and retro, and once you accept the fact that this isn't a big budget game, and that everything created is done procedurally, its really quite an experience. It needs some work visually, and there is some minor things that we need to given an option to change (like being able to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit). Or even some controller customization (I manually swapped L3 and R3 in the ps4 settings, felt mu...

The way Sean describes how this game works is that small impacts you do to a planet are only stored locally. And only if its a quite large impact will it be available for others to see.

So I am not sure how this game shares information between players in close proximity, but if small changes are only stored locally then you can't really team up with players to speed up the process of wiping a species out.

Now if information between players in close p...

Yeah, we talking to-scale with our own planet (although I'm sure sizes vary from bigger than earth to smaller).

Thinking about how most games work these days, the size of a game is all down to how big of an area the devs actually build with pre-baked buildings, streets etc. But see the devs have to build it, like a Hollywood set-piece in a movie. So it is limited to how much the devs choose to build. Whereas with NMS the whole universe is built using a mathematical al...

Sean has said it can be done... However it is about as impossible as impossible gets. These planets on the game are literally planet sized, as in if you were to walk in one direction you would need to walk for months on end just to wrap around the world. And imagine combing an entire earth sized planet for one type of animal and trying to wipe them all out.

So Sean has said it can be done, but it won't for the reaons stated above. Although if some insanely dedicated...

It's only shocking to those oblivious as to how this game works. There is zero loading screens for a reason, everything is generated on the fly with no pre-baked planets.

For a game like this the release date embargo means nothing. Why? People who have already watched every video on the net with Sean about NMS and love the concept and shown gameplay, are getting the game day 1 and are likely going to ignore all the reviews as to not ruin the experience.

And for the other people, who aren't yet convinced of the game, did not preorder it and are going to wait to see if it's a game for them. So whether or not the reviews come before o...
