I bought the pro to have games which look more crisp, sharp and run at a higher framerate on 1080p. Sadly many of the pro games are forcing supersampling on us with no choice, which often makes the game run worse than the standard ps4 version (supersamping AA is extremely resource intensive) and also softens the image to make it less sharp and more blurry. When I went from playing Deus Ex on my standard PS4 (which I thought looked amazing) to playing it on my Pro, I actually thought it was a...
They must have dropped some serious cash in the right pockets for this one.
With so many bombshell games released this year, overwatch getting GoTY is quite suspicious. It would be no less shocking than if a mobile game got GoTY.
The results should be under investigation.
Lol, what a joke. I don't even know a single person IRL who has played this game, and I don't think I have ever seen any of my PSN buddies playing it.
Kinda hard to take this game awards event seriously if a nobody game like overwatch gets GoTY. What got second place? Goat simulator?
I bought First Light and played for a bit, love the graphics options, only if all pro games gave us the same choices. I stuck with the 60fps mode as it just feels so dang nice! Plus on a 1080p TV I actually think the visuals are better than the softer supersampled graphical option. I don't mind a few jaggies if that means my picture quality is nice and sharp/crisp. Plus buttery smooth frame rate is so awesome!
All pro games should have at least a 60fps option for ...
I'm waiting for a price drop on the game to about $30 before I get it. I enjoyed the first enough to give this one a shot, but there is far more games and even PSVR releases that I need to catch up on first.
Also I'm not to sure about the whole San Fran backdrop, after all it is basically the USA's safe space city capital.
Exactly, hating on NMS went viral. Probably a large chunk of the hate was from XB1 owners adding fuel to the fire.
I know I'm going back to it once I finish up my current backlog.
After I clear my backlog of games I always planned to go back to NMS and finish it up. And am really glad so much will have been added and improved when I do revisit it.
From all the pre launch videos of NMS I saw, Sean always made the point that he would simply love to continue to work on the game post launch vs jumping into a new series. And he is doing exactly what he said he would.
It never cesses to amaze me how much hate this game got, its almos...
Wish we had a higher frame rate option for the Pro, as the game on 1080p is pretty soft/blurry looking due to the supersampling AA. And the frame rate drops more than I would like.
I would rather have a buttery smooth frame rate and a sharp/crisp image (with jaggies) vs a mostly jaggy free supersampling AA soft/blurry image that puts a lot of strain on the system and causes frame rate instability.
Its time to riot and burn down our neighborhoods due to a sound which could be interpreted as a racial slur, who's with me!
For 1080p I'd much rather have a frame rate bump and/or increase in graphical fidelity (textures, shadows, lighting etc) than the supersampling AA which makes the image way too soft and blurry for my likes.
I'll take a sharp crisp image with enhanced details over a soft/blurry image with smooth edges any day. Sadly so far this doesn't seem to be the trend with much of the pro enhanced games.
I saw the popup when I turned on my pro last night. Probably going to put it towards First Light, I never got the DLC after loving and platinuming infamous SS. Been wanting to get it, but I have had so many games to play I never got around to it and eventually forgot about it. But with it being Pro enhanced and this $10 credit, now is the time!
I'm personally a bit distressed about the damn 9GB update patch that just popped up when I put the disk in my PS4 Pro for the first time. WTF?!? This is the main reason I buy games on disk, so I don't have to spend days downloading before I play. it's bad enough getting an update that is around 2 GB or so, but 9 freaking gigs? Did they load all the DLC on this patch or what?
I'm glad I have other games to play while I wait out this 15 hour long downlo...
Exactly, developers are kinda screwing over the 1080p TV users (probably the vast majority of Pro users ATM). We need to have at least three options while on 1080p:
1. Supersampling AA (upping resolution then downsampling to 1080p to give a smoother less jaggy picture). This currently is our only option.
OR
2. 60fps frame-rate.
3. Frame-rate and graphical bumps (maybe not 60fps, but always at or above 30fps). Kee...
I really hope devs start including a few options for the two sets of players (those with 4K, and those with 1080p). I haven't played all the Pro enhanced games yet (just a few PSVR games and Deus Ex so far) and I will say that the PSVR experience is vastly improved with the pro (much more clarity, especially with regards to distance -- my PSVR is no longer a nearsighted simulator). It's what I imagined VR would look like prior to trying the PSVR with the standard PS4.

We destroyed our country when Obama got elected the first and second time. Trump getting a landslide election (despite the undoubtedly heavy voting fraud typically deployed by the liberal cog) is a sign that people in the US are overwhelmingly sick and tired of the BS constantly shoved down our throats by elitist liberals (a small few dictating for the majority). Much like the brits were utterly fed up with the EU and voted for Brexit.

The left stick on the xb controller isn't ergonomically correct. If you let your thumbs rest while holding a controller they sit in the same positions as the PS controller sticks.
I hope Sony takes a jab at the ad by releasing their own, but with stats.
"The PS4 was the best selling console in America 31 out of 36 months"
And
"The PS4 was the best selling console worldwide every month for 3 years straight"
Unless they have in the fine print that it was only the best selling for a specific month, its false advertising.
More Pro games should be going this route, instead of forcing supersampling for those on 1080p. Supersampling a non-native 4k resolution makes the image too soft and unsharp, and it is very resource intensive so performance issues are going to be on par or worse than the base ps4 version, which is unacceptable IMO. And in some games it seems like the devs may have even dropped some graphical settings (texture detailing) in order to accommodate the supersampling.
For me ...
