I'm at 820 days gone, have been playing 3-6 hours a day since release and I am not even to the point in the story that many streamers were at about 3 weeks ago. The game is great and is very lengthy.
I dislike the concept of loot boxes as much as anybody here, but it is a slippery slope getting the government involved. Reality is, loot boxes are used so often in games because people are buying them. Whether that be kids with their parents credit cards or adults who are willing to pay extra to get ahead. Fact of the matter is, people are making a conscious decision to buy them.
So how far do we want the nanny state to go? Are we at a point in society where we need gover...
The game really is pretty dang fun. Never thought I would enjoy a zombie styled game but I can't stop playing it. Been playing every day since release for about 3-6 hours at a time. Still have a ton to do in the game too, as it is really fun free roaming and trying to find out where the hordes hibernate. Love how ominous witnessing and hearing a horde is. Bend did a superb job on the audio. Not to mention how amazingly alive the world feels, never know what you will come across exploring ...
Does COD get eaten alive by the vast majority of mass media review sites? Nope, they praise it and give it high marks. Is COD a brand new IP? Nope. Days Gone surviving the fake reviews and still being successful says a lot about how good the game really is.
Game is selling more than expected because gamers actually enjoy it. I've been playing every day since day 1 and I am absolutely hooked into it.
I've watched many hours of gameplay of this game on Youtube. First, I watched just about every creator that got an hour to upload from a review copy (mostly all the same areas of exploration, but still a ton of fun to watch). Then I watched many more hours of post-embargo footage (with as little spoilers as possible). Gotta say, from what I've seen, this isn't the flop that so many make it out to be.
I've noticed there is a bit of a trend going around recent...
Fixed hardware on consoles and super talented devs are pushing the technology forward in incredible ways, not holding it back. Developers like Naughty Dog and Guerrilla are making games on consoles that are visually and technologically revolutionary and superior to most anything else out there.
See the thing is, with fixed hardware that is a bit dated developers have to optimize the hell out of the games to make them as efficient as humanly possible, and usually requires t...
Came here to complain about the exact same thing, I am downloading the giant sized patch (which will take me many hours to download with my netspeed) and that damn pop-up comes up every few minuets. Anybody know how to disable it or get around it? Cant even play the game with it popping up as often as it does, it completely breaks the immersion.
The notice also stacks, so if you idle in the game for a bit, you come back to about 10,000 pop-ups before you can play again...
The only plausible way I can see the XB1X having any chance to start taking ground from Sony is if MS unloads a bombshell on us like the XB1X being able to play Steam games, which would be a pretty gigantic deal (as all those exclusive PC games would significantly boost the XB1's library of games you cannot play on a PS4). But just having the power advantage over the PS4/PS4 Pro as well as a UHD drive isn't going to be enough, especially if it's priced $100 over the Pro, and $20...
More power to him, as that is one of the perks of living in a free country. Just as it is my choice to avoid the game and also inform others about this aspect so they can decide if they want to support it or not.
Personally, I already get enough politics jammed down my throat from pretty much every movie, TV show, mainstream media and much of the internet. Gaming has plenty of it as well, and it's getting really really old.
Neil can do whatever he...
So more supersampling? Hope they also have a high framerate option for those of us on 1080p and don't mind jaggies and a nice sharp image (SS softens the image too much for my tastes).
I also have a PC gaming rig, and I have experimented with graphical settings to a great extent. SS only starts to look seriously good when it is being rendered at a true 4k resolution then downsampled to 1080p. Anything less than native 4k and the image will be softer and "blurrier" than if no AA was used at all. Scaling from 4k to 1080p is a very direct scale, as it keeps the same aspect ratio. Scaling from 2k is not proportionally scaled to 1080p, which results in a softened ima...
I have so many games to play ATM that I haven't gotten a chance to check out games I have finished which got pro updates (such as uncharted 4). But I have played a few PSVR games as well as Deus Ex, Infamous First light and now I am playing Dishonored 2. Of those three the best looking to me with a 1080p TV is First Light, since I can opt out of the supersampling and go with a high framerate option (which still gets other graphical improvements). It just looks absolutely stunning on 108...
There will be a time when digital is just going to be the way of things, but I dont think physical disks are going to end anytime soon. Heck, even when it comes to music you can still get pretty much any album on CD. And the quality of the audio coming from the CD is vastly superior to a much lower lossy bitrate of an mp3. Although it is possible to download the lossless version digitally, its just not the popular choice and is rarely offered.
Also while many hardcore...
A best ranking place for straight people would of course be racism, sexism, xenophobic, islamaphobic and bigoted. Did I miss any?
This actually seems like a brilliant idea. Chances of somebody playing, getting addicted and buying the full game are probably pretty high for a title like this.
I remember back in the ancient times of gaming (10-15 years ago) there was this mythical thing called a "demo". And more often than not, playing demos actually got me interested in games I would never have considered before. As a result I bought a lot more games.
These publishers ...
Personally the ergonomics of the standard ps4 controller is much more comfortable to hold and use than the xb1 controller design (for me at least). I have an xb1 controller for my PC rig and I cannot stand the thing, just feels so awkward and the top bumper buttons are a pain to use. Any slightly extended period of gaming and my hands (and left thumb) start to cramp up.
Maybe I am just holding it wrong or something, but I do know how to properly hold a PS controller a...
I kinda doubt that MS will win another month for quite some time (maybe only during Scorpio's release). They only won so many months because of the ps4 pro, most people were holding out buying a ps4 until it released.
Now that its out, the dominating steady flow of ps4s being sold continues.
Supersampling anything less than a native 4k resolution results in a less crisp/sharp image that is "flat and fuzzy" looking on a 1080p TV. This is what we are getting with the vast majority of Pro enhanced games now since the SS is not native 4k on most (or all) games.
I have found that so far all the games I have tried that supersample actually look and run worse than the baseline ps4 version (only difference is the SS version is mostly jaggy free).
From what I remember, Super Nintendo games were between $70 and $80. And that was back in the early 90's. Nowadays with games requiring a heck of a lot more money to make than ever before, it is strange that they are only $60.
