There's a whole year of difference between the 360 and the PS3 and the PS3 is catching up amazingly quickly even though it's more expensive and has had less time on the market. Much less if you consider the fact that the European release was only 4 months ago.
I've had a game design in my head for about 3 years which is based off of what would happen if the RTS and FPS genres were merged together for a game. I dunno if EndWar is close to that but it sure has the scope and FPS side to it nailed.
I really wanna see a global-scale RTS where by you command an army in an RTs top-down view and can click on a squadron of troops and then an individual soldier and take control of that person in the traditional FPS view, issue direct commands ...
That's not what FUBAR stands for...
FUBAR stands for 'F**ked Up Beyond All Recognition'
Do I get a bubble for that correction or is it only for a translation? lol. Not too interested in the cookie but the thought of it sure does make me feel hungry.
You pay more for a reliable console that has a wide variety of games from different genres over the next few months and lots of good exclusives also.
It has a next-gen disc format capable of providing uncompressed (and much better quality) audio than a DVD can offer, for both gaming and movies. The only extra things you are charged for are downloadable games and downloadable game additions. No net charges.
Wireless technology for the internet connection and the ...
See what I did there, Metal Gear Ray becomes Metal Ge-... not funny? Ah well I tried.
The thing with this HD-DVD and blu-ray fight is a HD-DVD has approx half the capacity of a BD so Blu-ray will win technically every time you compare them. The sales will increase rapidly once more and more people know about Blu, own HDTV's and want a HD disc format to get the most from their screens and speakers and realise a PS3 is actually a great deal if you want a Blu-ray player but want s...
The multiplayer mode on the Darkness is apparantely (I haven't got it) a bad addition and a bad decision but regardles it extends the life of the game somewhat.
jappie I also agree with you, Bioshock was made to have a very atmospheric and involving story and MP may indeed have detracted from that had it been added (especially if it wasn't very well done).
Bubbles for you two.
Thanks Element. 20 hours is pretty decent actually. Don't get me wrong the replayability is there, but nowadays multiplayer is something people like to have to fall back on.
Would Halo 3 get a 10/10 without multiplayer? No, because it's now known as a MP game. However good the SP may be, it wouldn't score as well without MP imo because it's come to be expected from Halo.
Should Bioshock get less than a 10/10 because it lacks multiplayer? No, because it was design...
I was just wondering how long the singleplayer game is for Bioshock? 10/10 is well deserved imo for the great story, graphics and gameplay (Which is what a game should be scored on imo), but surely after you've completed singleplayer in, let's say 20 hours as a wild guess as I have no idea, what do you do then? Replay the game on a harder setting? Okay, yeah, you could do that, but surely Bioshock would be a great candidate due to it's incredible popularity for the addition of a multiplayer e...
Thanks for the reply btw, I knew people would disagree with me but at least you posted a reply to explain why you disagreed.
I think it'll be better if I reply to your post in point-by-point style:
" You my friend are a hypocrite. One minute you wanna say "How can people compare 2nd and 3rd gen 360 games to first genps3 games?!" "
First of all I didn't say that, I said 'people are comparing 2nd gen 360 games to 1st gen PS3 games...
Nice! you watch EG too!
I got 2 main points from them:
They said it lacked replayability because it had no multiplayer and could be completed in 2 days so they wondered whether a full out purchase was actually worth it or is it worth a rental instead?
Oh yeah and they mentioned the thing about the hack minigame being like the pipeline game of 20 years ago that's used in so many other games.
Those were the only 2 bad points I got off ...
UT3 and the unreal engine 3 have been optimised for the PS3 as part of the deal. The engine hasn't been optimised on the 360 at all and so Gamespy is going to support PC/PS3 cross-play.
Since UT3 is built on the UE3 it's pretty obvious they'll use it if it's available, which it is...
Calling the 360 a 'joke of a system' or a 'Dreamcast 360' may be a bit harsh imo, but to be perfectly honest you're right about the things you've said.
UT3 cross-platform play is a nice bonus for us PS3 owners. I was always going to get UT3 anyway, but with cross-platform play included now I have a nice reason to buy a bluetooth keyboard for my PS3 :D
Looking forward to it tbh!
4 player online co-op. Online play sounds just as good as offline play too.
UT3 and Haze are 2 top games for PS3 this year!
The Unreal Engine is being optimised for the PS3. No direct optimisation for the 360 version so no it won't run smoother on the 360. It's part of the exclusive deal. Epic said they'd optimise the Unreal Engine for the PS3 as well as make it a timed exclusive. The PC and PS3 versions should play very smoothly.
...compressed data does load faster, but at the cost of quality. Audio quality in particular shouldn't be compressed if it can be avoided. I'm guessing the bits of the game that can be compressed are those that wouldn't hinder the quality of the final product in anyway.
I'm one of those 'European brothers' living in the UK and while I may be into football (soccer) rather than the NFL I completely understand where you're coming from. You have every right as a gamer and an individual to ask for an explanation to this issue. Hopefully this hits the top dogs at EA and they take notice.
Bubbles for you!
I appreciate it. Bubbles right back at ya.
I think COD4 will sell millions if it delivers on what's been said. Looking forward to playing it. I'm just glad they've moved away from the WWII scenerio.
I agree with what you say about the 720. It's a vicious cycle really isn't it. PS3 will be blamed for holding the 720 back just like the 360 is being blamed for holding the PS3 back now...
Console exclusives bring the best out of each console. However, multiplats (should) give all gamers the same game to play regardless of the console they own. While I don't see exclusives taking over just yet it's difficult for devs to get multiplat games to be exactly the same for each consol...
Before I begin I've provided a short summary at the base of the post if you don't like reading lol.
Okay first of all I'd like to say that was one of the most well-written posts I've read on N4G from another user since I joined.
To those saying it should be in the forums I disagree, this is an issue to do with a multiplat sports title having a different framerate and EA not giving an acceptable reason as to why when they are capable of achieving it (unless they'r...
