Title Update 6 fixed the lag pretty much completely in my experiences.

and ive been one of the biggest 'gears 2s online was broken and laggy' people, since i live in australia and have had to put up with 1-2s of lag at the BEST of times most nights, since its stupid matchmaking would somehow think that putting me in a match with 7 americans, a japanese, and a german would be LESS laggy than a match with 9 other aussies.

they fixed that with TU6 though...

thats weird, cause ive had PlayTV since the day it came out in Australia and i havent received a single free update.....

well of course the PS3 is built around the Cell - the Cell is its CPU. without a CPU the PS3 wouldnt do anything.

look, no matter what any Sony fanboys want to tell you, Microsoft made the right decision to go with DVD for this generation. let me tell you why:

1. Release Date.
at the time of the 360s release, neither Blu-Ray nor HD-DVDs specifications had been finalised, and neither had hardware available. this means Microsoft could NOT launch the 360 for about another 12 months if they wanted to put either of them into the 360.

i agree with pretty much all of the points, especially the 'games must be more like movies' one.

if i wanted to watch a movie, id watch a movie. i chose to play a game, so i want to actually play the game. to me, 2 of the worst experiences this generation in terms of actually PLAYING a game have been - and watch this upset the fanboys - MGS4 and Uncharted 2.

guess youve never used One Man Army then? cause you can have 2 claymores out at a time if you put one down, change class, then put another one down.

@Unicron: Bungie always considered ODST an expansion pack. for crying out loud, it was only made by a small handful of the Bungie team while the rest of them worked on Reach.

Microsoft chose to release it at full price, so they packed in the Halo 3 multiplayer on a second disc to justify the price point. that doesnt change the fact that ODST is an expansion pack.

thats great......unless you want to play Halo Reach/3 online, or Gears of War, or Forza 3, or Left 4 Dead, etc etc.

a REAL gamer has no problem paying for Live. if you cant afford AU$70/US$50 a year, you should probably stop playing video games as youll only be getting one game a year, if that.

Ratchet and Clank is actually sub-HD, then upscaled to 720p. dont even try and argue that its not, its been proven many times for every single PS3 ratchet game - all what, 6 of them by now? if any franchise is being milked, its Ratchet & Clank with its 1 game every <12 months.

Reach made significant game changing improvements over Halo 3. God of War 3 didnt do the same over God of War 2. a whole new health system, armor abilities that add a whole new level of tactics and thinking to the multiplayer, removal of dual wielding, active playlists, firefight, forge world, etc etc.

Game of the Year contenders for me: (note i am only listing games that are out, as im not going to say a game can be game of the year contender for me when its not out and i havent played it)

- Halo Reach: ill be playing it for years. multiplayer is second to none, campaign is great, and is the best 'social' game on a console to date.

100% incorrect, and you will see this when the game comes out. yes, i have played GT5:P, and no, it looks nothing like the videos/screenshots released of GT5:P before it was released either. what it all boils down to is what you actually see when controlling the car - and this is what GT5:P looks like in-game:
