in the code for bulletstorm there is a list of all of the characters, levels, weapons, skins, mission acts, etc for Gears of War 3 - this was posted on N4G sometime last week. it listed about 18-20 multiplayer maps.
anyone who SERIOUSLY believed that Gears 3 would only have 6 maps is deluded. Gears 2 has something like 20 maps at last count - theyre not gonna go from there to only 6 in gears 3 lol.

and to the people saying its not like COD and theyre not as expensive as COD map packs - the Killzone 2 packs were actually the exact same price PER MAP as the COD ones are. the difference is the COD DLC gives you more maps, hence the price is higher.

ok i dont know whats going on, but i played for like 4 hours last night and when i did body count i only played on one map over and over and over and over, and when i did warzone i only played another map over and over and over. wtf?

well after playing killzone 3 last night for a good 4 hours, i have to say that Crysis 2 definitely beats it in the graphics department.
it looks more realistic, the lighting is FAR more advanced - its ALL dynamic, none is pre-baked, and the per object motion blur looks much better than killzones.
killzone 3 is hell awesome in multiplayer though, but graphically it just doesnt match up to Crysis 2.
these videos also show why halo continues to be one of the most played online games every single week - no other online game could even dream of producing half of the kills seen in this video.

wingman is the best, but they really need wingman specific maps. often times in wingman youd spawn and before youd even see another player, 5+ of the other players were already dead. other times youd spawn and there would literally be another team 20m in front of you and 20m behind you.
they need some 4 way symmetrical maps for 4 team wingman.
i love wingman, its what got me to level 100 in gears 2.

the slow motion inducing whip makes it about as 'built for competitive online gaming' as timeshift - ie. not at all. the difference is timeshift tried anyway, and it didnt work.

lochdoun is right actually - there are numerous videos and photos from a number of trade shows showing developers/higher-ups from from PD playing Forza 3 and talking to the Turn 10 people.

after the very first level of Killzone 2, in which i used the cover system just to see if it works well, i didnt use it for the rest of the game. it was extremely poorly implemented - to shoot from cover you had to be pressing 3 of the 4 shoulder buttons as well as controlling your movement. it was needlessly complex. why not just stick to cover at the press of a button? glad they changed that in Killzone 3.

1. the texture load-in.........it doesnt make finding people in the distance hard lol. the textures seriously load up in like a quarter of a second in the distance. its no worse than the texture load-in of Uncharted 2 or Killzone 3.
