i see this next gen of handhelds going the same way as the current one to be honest.
all the sony faithful said the same thing with the PSP/DS....'the psp is so much more powerful', 'the psp has the 'hardcore' games and the DS only has ports of old nintendo games', 'the psp plays movies and does everything else too', 'the psp blah blah blah blah blah', 'the DS is just a gameboy with a gimmicky 2 screen idea, itll never catch on'...
It's funny because nearly every other online game would KILL to have 'only' 100000-200000 people playing every day. The only games with more are call of duty.
If there's one game that doesn't need an update, it's reach.
Lol 3D is ENTIRELY optional on the 3DS, it's got a slider that goes from no 3D effect AT ALL to full on 3D. You could play a 3DS for years without ever seeing a single second of 3D.

ive played the demo for like 6 hours already, and i havent had a single freeze or dropping of team-mates/players yet. ive had a few lag problems, but no worse really than what you see in any full release game.
i cant get enough of it, cant wait for release.
im not making the same mistake i made with the PSP in rushing out to buy one on launch, thats for sure.
ill be waiting for a few months to see if its just going to end up another expensive fancy paperweight or actually be good before i drop the $400+ it will no doubt be (im talking Australian dollars).
same with the 3DS. i play my DS far more than my PSP, but even it doesnt get played too often, so im not really in the need for a new handheld in a hurry.
it is weird, but remember, this wouldnt be the first time EA didnt support a console. they didnt support the Dreamcast AT ALL, never releasing a single game on it, in favour of the PS2. whats not to say they might take that move again with the 3DS instead of the PSP2?
i have no doubt theyll release every game under the sun on the PSP2 though. im just pointing out the possibility that it could happen to the people that werent video game fans in the DC years.

depth camera resolution before rumoured update: 320x240 = 76800 pixels
depth camera resolution after rumoured update: 640x480 = 307200 pixels
307200/76800 = you guessed it, 4. that means that, if the rumoured update is true, it QUADRUPLED the resolution of the depth camera.

I love how you guys all act as though the xmb is some revelation because it uses an up/down left/right setup. Newsflash - pretty much every menu in existence has used this setup, they just pretty it up so it's not as bland as the xmb.
The xmb is far to cluttered with too many redundant options along with too much nesting. Definitely needs an overhaul, especially the in-game one.

its not the fact that theyre on-screen or off-screen that is the problem - the problem is that your fingers just go off the edges of them since theres no tactile feedback to show that youve moved it as far as itll go.
forza never drops its framerate. ever. it is a constant 60fps, never faulters.
if you had the game, or had watched any of the framerate analysis videos, you would know this.
GT5 has tonnes of screen tearing and framerate drops, and quite frankly its enough to put me off playing it for more than 1-2 races at a time.

the only problem i had with the beta last night was it took about 5 minutes to find a match the first time. after that, it ran nigh on perfect. had the odd lagging problem, but hey, thats what the beta is for - so they can find these problems and fix them.
