i do love how everyone used the 'theres a jungle level in KZ3, so the whole games not just brown and grey like the first 2 levels theyve shown' defence............and then we see the "jungle" level and its, you guessed it, brown and grey lol.
it looked pretty good, but this was their chance to show they can make it look impressive in a whole other way than the usual brown and grey urban locations. they might call it a jungle by putting a plant every dozen me...
"Well it shows 360 has trouble handling Crysis 2 graphics thus the lag."
so whats your opinion on the 200ms of input lag in Killzone 2 on the PS3? is that proof that the PS3 has trouble handling Killzone 2?
on the topic, the graphics in this game on the 360 are better than anything out on consoles today. Uncharted 2 included, Killzone 2 included. and from watching videos of both, Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 included too. it looks far more REAL than U...
its funny that sony fanboys still bitch and moan about Gears 2 being 'broken' online from the start (despite them never actually playing it), and wont accept that its been fixed through numerous updates...............yet they constantly refer to GT5 and its numerous updates to fix what was essentially an unfinished game at launch as 'great' and 'fantastic' and that more developers should do it lol.
Gears 2s online, for the last 12 months, has been a CO...
"Hahahahahahaha, you think those are the real tools?!, hahahahahahaha, far from it. Rhymes with Zisual Pudio, isn't free, is quite robust and not watered down for a $100 a yr fee. Damn...MS is the king of fees."
im a developer, i use visual studio for work, and when i create a new project i can create an XNA game. in visual studio. did you not know that XNA development is integrated into Visual Studio? apparently not lol.
@CommonSense: "gears of war is effectively an FPS with the camera backed away a few feet. the mechanics are almost identical."
you couldnt be more wrong.
how would you do the cover system in gears from a first person perspective? dont say 'like how killzone 2 does it', because thats a completely different - and far more crude - cover system. in Gears, you prop up on a wall, and then can slide left and right along it, while being able to move...
"XNA is a joke. Just look at the indie games. Give us real tools."
real tools? to make XNA games you use the same tools that actual developers use to make full 360 games lol. they dont get more 'real' than that, unless you want to write your game in binary or assembly lol.
im the ignorant prick? not really.
Pakistans area is 800 000km^2. Australias is 7 700 000km^2. QLD is about 1/4 of that in size - which means its a far bigger area of QLD that flooded than that of Pakistan. so while 1/5th of Pakistan was underwater, about the same amount of AUSTRALIA was underwater. the difference is that 1/5th of Australia is equal to about 2 times the area of Pakistan.
the early estimates of lost revenue from Australias GDP were about $30 ...
dropped from 32 players to 24 hey? but i thought 'bigger = better' when it comes to multiplayer numbers? at least thats what the PS3 fanboys have been saying for years.
personally i think dropping down to 24 is a good thing. with 32 players it just got too laggy and youd spawn, get killed by a rocket launcher, spawn, get killed by a rocket launcher, and so on. this will help to reduce that happening.
quite frankly, anything over 24 players is too many...
"mouthpiece" just means hes the voice of Xbox Live, its not a negative thing. when something happens on Xbox Live, Major Nelson is usually the one to announce it.
pretty sure thats not true.
you dont seem to understand how bad the floods in Queensland were. i live around Brisbane, and literally half the city or more was underwater. the main CBD was SHUT DOWN for days, with thousands of shops/houses being filled with water/sewage/mud/plants/etc. the estimated cleanup bill is well over $10 BILLION, with the city not expected to be back to normal for YEARS. most of the shops in and around brisbane have run out of food/water as trucks/boat...
look, the reality is that anyone who DOESNT own both a PS3 and 360 is missing out on some great games.
you PS3 fanboys can sit there and say 'i dont want to play gears/halo/fable/forza/etc' ; all you want, but we all know that 99% of you would play them if they were on the PS3. same goes for the 360 fanboys and GT/Uncharted/Resistance/etc.
the only reason a 'real' gamer would not have both is financial reasons. but with a 360 being the same pri...
with kinect you can literally play with a real tennis racquet in your hand if you want. just because you dont hold a controller doesnt mean you cant hold something else.
i mean, i played dance central/kinect adventures/sonic free riders with a stubbie in one hand. cant do that with Move.
this is virtua tennis - there is no 'slightest amount of spin' lol. its either a LOT of spin or NO spin. have you ever even played a virtua tennis game? doesnt sound like it.
Kinect will work just fine. most top spin and back spin is done through the ARM movements, not wrist movements. kinect will pick these up perfectly, as well as how fast youre swinging your arm.
i think the game looks great to be honest, and it might be the first wrestling game ive bought in 5+ years.
'real' wrestling games have stagnated, theyve been basically the same since the second PS2 smackdown.
also, some people are getting confused - THQ do NOT make smackdown. they just publish it. Yukes have been in control of development of smackdown since the original on the PS. THQ were the ones that made the awesome Wrestlemania 2000 and No Merc...
Move and Kinect are both great products, and they can coexist because theyre aimed at giving gamers two different experiences.
we NEED buttons for lots of games, there is no doubt about that. you just cant replicate that experience and control without buttons. but similarly, there are some games and experiences that you cant get with controllers but you can with motion control. tennis games for example would be best with move. fitness games would be best with kinect. fps game...
lol
"Did you also hear about Sony planning on putting PSN into TV's, Cell Phones, Computers, and other connected devices?"
you mean like how XBox Live is ALREADY on phones, computers, etc? or how Microsoft have Zune on the 360, windows phone 7 phones, and PCs? and remember, there are probably 100+ full retail 360 games available to buy RIGHT NOW on xbox live on the 360. valve can, and probably do, already sell some of their games on there - so b...
the gameplay video looks absolutely fantastic. out of all the racing games, Shifts cockpit camera is by far the best. they got everything right - the sense of speed, the graphics, the motion blurring, the head movement. this looks even better.
cannot wait for this game, Shift is one of the most under-appreciated games this generation IMO.
has anyone thought about the negative effect the 3DS is going to have on 3D tvs that require you to wear glasses?
noone is going to want to buy a glasses-using 3D TV after playing on a 3DS, and rightly so.
why do people even want steamworks on the 360? Live does everything that it does lol.
the PS3 isnt getting Steam, just SteamWORKS - they are different things. PC and PS3 cross platform play......360 already has this with PC. cross-game chat.........360 already has this. matchmaking......360 already has this. the only thing it offers that Live doesnt *yet* is cloud storage for saved games, and thats a good thing and a bad thing. good because youve always got it available and b...
touch sensitive analogues kills this IMO. anyone whos played games that use 'on screen analogues' on the iphone knows they just dont work.
i was never going to buy this anyway, as like the guy who did the article i also like to keep my phone separate from my portable gaming - but it just doesnt look like itll be that great going from that video.
