it is funny how half the comments in here are bagging microsoft in one way or another lol.

Microsoft NEVER owned Bizarre. Bizarre just released some games exclusive to their console, like how Quantic Dream released Heavy Rain exclusive to the PS3 without Sony owning them.

Microsoft OWNED Bungie. they did not own Bizarre. got that through your heads? Bizarre could sell out to whoever they wanted at any time. Bungie asked to leave Microsoft, Microsoft said ok,...

im confused..........

this guy obviously and blatantly hacked his PS3 - why arent you guys all screaming bloody murder, reporting him to the police/sony/fbi, and calling him a pirate? thats what you think of anyone who hacks their PS3, isnt it?

and to those saying 'this isnt crysis 1' - obviously its not, but it literally is the island from crysis 2. he removed pretty much everything apart from the geometry. so every rock, tree, nook and cranny in cry...

yeah i know that. without 3D its also only 22-24gb because of all the 720p HD video. every cutscene in the game is stored as FMV instead of being rendered in real-time. without them, the game would EASILY fit on a single dvd.

but the point remains: size on disc != length of game.

Crysis 2 on the 360 is 5gb in total. thats a full multiplayer mode, a 12+ hour single player campaign with absolutely no back-tracking or visiting the same locale twice, with the bes...

like someone said, Silverlight has been on the 360 for months. Zune, Netflix, etc all run on silverlight.

im looking forward to some more Windows Phone 7/Xbox 360 cross compatibility though.

size on disc != length of game.

on one hand, Killzone 3 is 40gb on disc, yet the single player campaign can be completed by anyone even moderately good at shooters in 5-6 hours. and theres no room for exploration, no collectibles, no side missions, nothing. just follow the story from a to b to c.

on the other hand, Border lands is 3.3gb on disc, yet the single player campaign would take 20+ hours for a person of the same skill. if they go and do all the missi...

looks very dance central like, which is a good thing, and its awesome how it actually puts your body into the game instead of you just mimicking the on-screen avatar like dance central. i know its a promo vid, but it looks like it does it very well too.

look, i think its pretty funny that theyre taking down sonys websites - theyre e-bullying the company that are bullying hackers. im 100% in geohotz's corner, i hope sony lose the lawsuit and are made to pay for what theyve done.

but spreading personal information of sony employees is taking it WAAAAAAAAAY too far. i do not agree with anonymous on this at all. taking down websites is one thing, but potentially ruining someones livelihood and causing them personal distress ...

<PS3 Fanboy>omg theyre copying LittleBigPlanet!!!!11!!!111one oneeleven</PS3 Fanboy>

seriously though, XNA is fantastic. Massive kudos to microsoft for creating XNA and allowing joe blow to make his or her own xbox 360 game. and to think people say that microsoft dont like user created content lol. it doesnt get much more user created than creating a game from scratch.

all i want is to see some gameplay. i dont understand how it could even possibly come close to RB3s pro-guitar mode, since all this can be doing is taking the sound the guitar is making and trying to determine what notes are being hit. it couldnt really be accurate, as different strings/frets can give the same notes.

RB3s pro-guitar mode is pretty much *almost* perfect. the only thing that could improve is how it doesnt have exactly what number fret each finger needs to be o...

eh, i have no problem with the MS point system.

its so there is a universal pricing system. i mean, i know id get pretty pissed if i saw that a game on the PSN was $10 for me, then i went on the US store and it was only $5. you dont see that with the MS point system, even if the $ value is the same. its all about perception.

when youre spending 'microsoft points', its almost like youre not spending real money, and some people get caught up in it and g...

Lol

The 360 can and does do native 1080p output. Virtua tennis 4 is natively 1080p on the 360, NBA street homecourt is 1080p natively on the 360, as are a few other retail games and many xbox live arcade games.

Seriously, anyone who STILL thinks that the 360 can't do native 1080p needs to just turn off their computer and call it a day. They obviously can't read, can't comprehend anything anyone tells them, and are just plain fanboys.

hahahahahahahaha

the USA is one market, correct. but that one market is the single biggest market in the industry. yes, other regions bring in revenue - but nowhere near as much as the USA does. the USA buys the most games, buys the most consoles, and spends the most money. this is all fact.

Europe and North America are the 2 main and significant markets. everywhere else is just chicken feed in the overall picture. again, this is fact.

im not...

firstly, this is not self shadowing. self shadowing is when something on the character model creates a shadow that is on to the character as well. for example, a hat.

and secondly, yes, i noticed when i first started the campaign that there were some shadows from my character missing if i stood in front of some light sources. but im literally playing the campaign on the 360 right now, moving backwards and forwards in front of a light source (thats not the sun) and its casting...

ok the thing that this screenshot comparison doesnt take into consideration is that in Crysis 3 ALL of the water is dynamic and interactive. if you jump into that water in Crysis 2, shoot it or throw objects into it, it will splash and ripple, reacting to everything that happens. it also reflects light sources dynamically depending on the angle youre looking at it from and if things are blocking the light source from hitting the water.

in killzone 3 on the other hand, that oc...

you can throw "the USA isnt the whole world" around as many times as you like, but the fact is that in the video game world, yeah, it pretty much is.

Japan means nothing in the videogame world anymore. theyve sold what, 5 million PS3s since release? thats miniscule. i mean, we here in australia, one of the smallest markets in the world, have sold over a quarter of that amount in less time. Japanese developers are losing steam quickly, and having to westernise their ...

id prefer the video to be in 720p, since thats the games native resolution. a game will always look best in its native resolution.

@malambdra: "if he's talking about quality or quantity of games in 2011 he's delusional, Gears alone can't compete with 20 PS3 exclusives: "

lets look at the oft-used PS3 exclusive list:

LittleBigPlanet 2 - came out, didnt sell very well, reviewed worse than original (but still well), noone really cared. Metacritic: 91/100 (down from 95 for the first)

DC Universe Online - came out, didnt review that well, not many people...

"april fools is tomorrow"

now while the article is dated March 31, it only went up a few hours ago. thats all well and good for those in countries where its still March 31.....but the whole world isnt in the same time zone lol.

im in australia and its been April 1 for 10.5 hours already, so this article came out on April 1 to me.

"not everyone is like you so stop assuming everyone is okay with 2-3 exclusives."

but thats the thing - why should it matter if there are only 2-3 exclusives when there are going to be dozens of AAA multiplatform games? why wouldnt people be ok with 2-3 exclusives? do they get royalties for every exclusive that releases on the system they bought?

do people not care about the actual games anymore? is it all just about who has the most exclusives? doe...
