i still find it funny that after all this time, people on here still think that Terms of Service Agreements that you "thoroughly read over and agree to" when you buy pretty much ANYTHING - even though, lets face it, everyone just clicks "agree" as theyre not going to read 50+ pages of rubbish - are actual legal documents.
theyre not. they are NOT legally enforced. if sony said in the ToSA that by agreeing to their terms you agree to give them any and all f...
" PSN claws its way back thanks to Red Johnson's Chronicles - Episode 1 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2."
bit silly when one of the games that the PSN claws its way back with has been on XLBA for about 3 years already lol (sonic 2 for those wondering)
anyway, this was a pretty pointless article. most games are multiplatform, so most DLC for those games is multiplatform.
I don't think you guys understand the difference between psn being down completely for a few days and xbox lives "2 weeks of problem" that it had in 07/08.
The PSN is completely and 100% offline. Noone can login, buy stuff from the store, message friends etc. Noone.
When Live had problems in 07/08, only SOME people couldn't connect. Personally I didn't even have 1 second of downtime. I was playing online to my hearts content, along with...
this isnt just a GFWL title though - its a game thats made and published by Microsoft, that is also a GFWL title.
see the difference? itd be like Sony releasing Uncharted 3 on the 360 and you saying it doesnt prove that theyve got a deal in the works.
what can Xbox Live learn from Steam on the PS3? honestly, what?
your points:
1. any and all games can do this on the 360 already if the developer wants you to. look at halo reach - the main menu lists your friends who are also playing reach, and allows you to instantly party up/join their game. the gears 3 beta, and therefore gears 3, lets you press X on the main multiplayer menu to quickly see which of your friends are playing Gears 3 and allow you to join/...
surely this is a good thing for the PS3 fanboys - it means they get to use it on their 2012 PS3 exclusive list as well as on their 2011 list that theyve been using for months! hell, it was even on most of their 2010 lists! this game gets to be on 3 consecutive 'exclusives being released this year' lists, kudos TLG.
seriously though, i was never expecting it to come out this year. when a game is dated for ~6 months away yet youve only seen 1-2 tiny trailers for it, its...
wow, people in here never cease to amaze me with their stupidity lol
how are you people saying that this was George Hotz's idea? if you actually read the article, you would see that SONY said they would not pursue any further action against Hotzs IF HE SIGNED THE RIGHTS TO A MOVIE ABOUT HIS LIFE TO THEM.
Hotz didnt say 'ill drop the charges if you make a movie about me' - firstly he wasnt the one pressing the charges, so he has no say in when the ...
@theonlylolking:
a few things wrong with your post lol.
1. "The detail of the characters in gears 3 are the same as gears 2. I play kantus most of the time and his detail is just as bad as in gears 2 and same with all the locust."
oh really? you play as kantus? interesting, since hes not unlocked as a playable character in the beta until King of the Hill is playable, and thats not for at least another week. so there is literally no ...
@radphil: "-The fact that PS3/PC owners can cross-platform play means Live is restrictive in it's own way. "
that might be a valid point IF there werent already 360 games with PC/360 cross platform play released YEARS ago. there were though (google Shadowrun if you dont believe me).
im guessing the only reason they didnt do cross compatibility is because then theyd have to release it on PC with Games for Windows Live support, and they dont want...
@gamingdroid: "It's worth noting that Portal alone is sold for $15 on Xbox Live and I assume the same on PSN. "
Portal:Still Alive is an XBLA exclusive, not on PSN.
lol @ anyone thinking these are anything other than bullshots.
when did the PS3 get the ability to do 32xMSAA or more? was this in the latest 'playback of system software is improved' firmware update? no? then there is literally no way that any of that is in-game. these are all massive renders that are scaled down to 1280x720 to give the impression that theyre native 720p in-game captures. theyre anything but.
look at picture 4 - not only is pretty m...
he got disagrees because while the PS3 version has got Kratos exclusively, the 360 version gets an exclusive mode and some other exclusive stuff.
so yes, only 1 version has an extra character.........but only 1 version has an extra mode. which is more important is personal taste i suppose.
im not sure thats a bug - you have to get a bit of a run up to kill someone with the charge, pretty sure its so you cant just hold be when someones a metre in front of you and get an insta-kill.
personally i think its good the way they did it, as it would get abused if you could impale someone from a 2m run up.
its weird....in the first few pics the 360 version looks better. the shadows on/around the table/doorframe (or whatever that is in the first pic) look much better on the 360.
but then when you get down to the 4th/5th pic, the PS3 version looks noticeably better - better AA, and even what looks to be a higher native resolution.
i was going to get this on 360 when i eventually get it (Gears 3 beta, Crysis 2 MP, and still playing the hell out of RB3s pro drums/g...
while youre aiming at someone using LT, click in the left analogue stick. a red/blue symbol (depending on locust/cog) should appear above their head, and your guy will call out that theyve spotted an enemy at whatever position(or something along those lines).
@EVO-OM3GA below: i found the melee a lot harder to hit people with because they completely eliminated the 'tracking' on it. it no longer auto-targets enemies or follows them when they move. it also takes longer...
the beta is absolutely fantastic.
in australia when i started playing there were only 300 people in my region playing (it tells you in the menus) and only 1200 worldwide, yet i got a game in 30 seconds with no noticable lag.
the graphics are just amazing. just going from this multiplayer beta alone, its in the best 1-2 games graphically so far this gen. the new lighting engine has COMPLETELY changed the graphical look of the game. high res dynamic shadows are...
lol at the number of misinformed PS3 fanboys in here claiming that theyre not using the right settings for the PS3 and not setting up their TV properly so it looks washed out.
newsflash - these comparisons have absolutely NOTHING to do with the TV or its settings. why? because these arent screen captures from the TV - theyre screen captures directly from the console. the TV and its settings dont even come into play here.
as people SHOULD realise, but dont s...
one small mistake in the article: "The beta gets around that problem with a new tap-versus-hold system that allows you to tap a button to perform quick actions like picking up ammo, reviving teammates, and killing enemies quickly. "
in the beta you have to hold X to pick up ammo, not just press it.
why? theyre not selling games throught SteamWorks, so sony lose nothing.
facebook is (ever so slightly) integrated into the PSN, why cant SteamWorks be?
and actually, the way that SteamWorks is NOW is more of a trojan horse than if Sony worked with Valve to integrate it into the OS. think about it:
as it is, Valve can make any changes they want to SteamWorks on the PS3 and sony cant do anything about it. they could patch Portal 2 to let user...
completely disagree.
no incentive to use anything other than the sawed-off or gnasher? really? what about the fact that with the sawed-off you cant hit anything thats not within 3-4 metres of you, and with the gnasher you basically have to get an entire clip of direct hits into someone whos more than 10m away to even take them down?
if you use the lancer especially, and the hammerburst/retro lancer to a lesser degree, you can take people down from halfway acr...
