god of war 1 and god of war 2 werent even big selling GAMES, let alone system sellers - why is everyone suddenly under the impression that the third will suddenly go on to sell 10 million copies and shift millions of PS3s?
need i remind you that God of War 1 and 2 COMBINED didnt even reach 6 million sales, and that was when there were 150+ million PS2s out there.

not bitter at all, i just dont see why people are getting excited like its something new when anyone that has played the previous games in the series would know that this is how the games are made.
Killzone 2 uses every trick in the bag to make it look good. motion blur? check. grainy filter? check. drab colour palette? check. over-abundance of lens-flares and light bleeding? check. plenty of 360 games have no loading screens in-game, its not something that is new. the difference is that not every game is just one continuous gameplay stretch like God of War and Uncharted. games like Halo have levels, and once youre in the level you never get a loading screen.

when you pre-render the cutscene you can be pre-loading the upcoming level/data. it is also less taxing on the console, and guarantees that there wont be any problems with the cutscene like texture load-in etc.
and if you do a bit more reading youll find that the sony representative actually clarified what he said - and confirmed that some of the cutscenes are 'too epic' to run in real-time and are in fact pre-rendered and stored on the disc as video files. ...

'Pre-Rendered' does NOT automatically mean that higher detail models are switched in for better looking cutscenes. the ONLY thing it means is that the cutscene is not running in real-time, but it was rendered PREviously and simply recorded and stored on the disc.
