Yea, the game looks excellent. We need more Lovecraftian stuff in games, as cliche as that sounds it's still true.
I can't take anyone seriously when they act like a game scared them. Or a book. Or a film.
I really don't care how it started or who's responsible.
Fish has always projected himself as a pompous douchebag. It was only a matter of time before someone knocked him down a peg or two.
He doesn't have to suck it up. He could just ignore it, like pretty much every actor ever admits to doing with the internet.
That's because his twitter pic is a pic of Andy Kaufman.
How pathetic. You're a grown man. Show some spine.
Let me give you the worst bonus "boss" ever.
Picture this.
You're at a friends house, playing Space Channel 5. You complete the game, amazingly, with 99% completion. Heart pounding, though you wonder why 99% and not 100%. It doesn't matter, you're friends witnessed you and that gives you satisfaction. So you walk into the kitchen, crack open a can of Coke, and talk while the credits roll.
Then you hear it.
...
Been using the same damn argument since forever, yet I'm always downvoted and bubble raped.
Guess you're just better liked than I.
As a backer, I'm fairly pleased with the end result. That said, I think the game really needs to fix some of the hit percentages. I can have a hulking troll samurai with a shotgun, directly adjacent to an ordinary security guard, with only a 70% chance to hit. That's insanely stupid, and probably my only real beef other than the save system.
Wow, awfully full of yourself. I played GoW 1-3 and my criticism still stands.
I'm sorry that your head is so far up your own ass that you can try to tell someone they're wrong because something they said means to you that they never played a game. Brilliant logic there, moron.
They may work, but they could just as easily be replaced with actual gameplay, or at least something more than just tapping a button.
The only game with a QTE system I ever liked was Infamous. It was a QTE, but you also had to interact with it more than just tapping triangle over and over again.
You... you do realize that most of those games are ports, right? All they did was port it. port =/= develop.
Their actual track record is extremely hit or miss and I'm horrified that they now own the Homeworld IP.
I only agree with your dislike of QTE prompts. I'm strongly of the opinion that if you have a QTE in your game, anywhere, hire someone to turn that little sequence into actual gameplay.
But it was supposed to be noir. And real fans know that noir means nighttime and has nothing to do with the story being told. /s
You pretty much just described GTA San Andreas too.
Give Fez a try. If you can get around the end game pseudo-intellectualism, you'll discover a very easy, tremendously boring platformer.
Guess I'm messed in the head then. Haven't enjoyed a single one of Suda's games since Killer 7, which I thought was brilliant btw. I've long since wrote his games off.
Fez is quite possibly one of the most overrated indie games I have ever played. And Fish is the definition of pompous douche. Might as well just call him the Kanye West of game developers.
I have to say, they really took what looked like a horrible gaming experience and managed to spruce it up into something I wouldn't balk at spending $25 for.
Let the over-over-saturation commence!
