Price cut won't happen. Why? Because service cost usually goes up not down, besides once a price is lowered it is hard to move it back up. Lowering the price of a service is a desperate move and would be the last thing MS would do and they are more likely to add features instead to compensate.
I think the problem here is that Treyarch sunk too much into CoD5 and can't turn around. They just have to ride it and hope for the best.
Although, they have twice the amount of time to do CoD5 compared to CoD3 I expect great things from them.
I'm hopeful for fw 2.40, but why would a firmware update require the whole thing to be taken down. I don't recall anytime a firmware required the service be taken down for maintenance.
Not all games that are on the 360 come on the PC. I don't have to give you exampels do I...? Besides, the console experience is different than PC.
I completely stopped gaming on my PC because of the hefty upgrades cost and reserve it mostly for rts. My 360 puts out superior graphics to my PC bought last year at $1000+. Granted I didn't spend $300 for my graphics card, but why spend $300 on a graphcis card when I can get a separate unit, PS3 or 360 for $400 or less.
I don't deny that the PS3 can output games with exceptional graphics and some with probably better AI than 360, but as Yoshida puts it himself, it is hard to convince 3rd party developers to create game for their platform. Now why is that?
Because they over-engineered the damn PS3 from a hardware standpoint and forgot the software side of things! Sony also forgot about gaming thinking of it has a media hub and super computer instead. All their success finally went to their head...
Actually, Bill Gates is an incredibly intelligent man. I heard him personally in an interview and was very impressed.
There is no doubt in my mind that MS will continue to lead the pack. In terms of innovation, Sharepoint is a great product and so is most of their other software prodcuts.
@dude_uk: let's wait 2-3 years from now and you will hail Vista as the greatest thing since XP. Everybody hated XP when 2000 was around and looked what happened. People just don...
Actually, I always bash GS because they always recite pre-order stuff, but when I actually needed them they were there for me during the MGS4 LE order.
I pre-ordered super late, like a week before the game was scheduled release and the guy ran out of MGS SAGA vol 2 DVD's, but he handed me the artbook early. I called a few stores around the region and they were all willing to give me one. I didn't have time to pick it up, so the next day I called a store local to my workplace. T...
EA won't do anything about until Mike Seedon, does heavy marketing for this. He needs to send news to sites and label it similar to "EA screwed customers, customers engraged" or "Angry gamers demand EA fix their product".
Once it hits sites like consumerism, and other news site EA will have no choice but to send an official response.... maybe even a fix.
He also needs more signatures, because 2000 signatures are too few and as times go by the ...
I think people are missing the point a little. Often times, when people say system seller they mean in a more significant manner and longer time period. Going from 10k to 70k is significant for one week, but will it last...
Of course MGS4 moved PS3 consoles, but for how long. Heck, I bought a PS3 for it!
I would also like to point out that the PS3 MGS4 bundle (80GB) was apparently very limited. That is probably why it sold out.
If your teacher said that, I would seriously question his knowledge of computer security.
No computer is impossible to hack, unless it is completely cut off from the world. If you can't communicate with the computer, you can't hack it!
So, put your computer in the basement and leave it on. You just got yourself one of the worlds most hackproof computer.
I can't take a site seriously with an article titled like that, not to mention this device is obviously crappy. I haven't tried it, but I will have to boldly say that this controller is not a deal!!!
I would say this article is spot on. The unreliable and noisy hardware is a huge issue, but the Falcon has stepped in and it appears the console is very reliable now. I rarely hear about RROD on recent Falcon consoles. That is of course from personal experience.
My point is that, you can't stereotype consumers based on a particular choice. They purchase products based on their need and what is of value to them. Part of that value could be that their peers have one...
The fact that you can get a PS3 and get the a super processor (CELL) or get a Blu-Ray player is of little importance if I don't use it. Is it a better value if I paid $50 more for something I do NOT use?
Fact of the matter is that, in reality for many older...
EA is just playing the blame game. Obviously EA ported it and they should be patching it. I don't see a "developer please create a patch for my game" for the 360 or PC vesion of the game.
Overall, I think the PC and the 360 version don't have nearly as many issues. I say we boycott EA games. Badly managed and greedy companies like EA only listens to money. Hit them were it hurts!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong about the PC/360 version though....
Not sure why they make it so fugly, but it seems to apply to all console manufacturers. If it is a budget title, make it look cheap!!!
@levdog:
I'm not sure what I should cry about, your stupid comment or the number of people that actually agree with your comment. Why would you judge a person's how smart a person is based on their age or their preference of one console over the other. Did you consider that to 360 owners, that the 360 caters more to their needs. Probaby not, cause you are too blind from being a blatant fanboy of Sony.
@Xiru:
I think the Xbox 360 is a better value for money to me....
In Europe for whatever reason, the Sony brand is extremely strong. When I lived there, I had the utmost respect for Sony's product, but after moving to the US my opinion of them is more of an arrogant company that recently changed their ways.
Microsoft has literally no branding. It is therefore suprising to me that the 360 is selling so well in the UK.
@Spike47: Actually, young consumers actually do research what they are buying. The only thing is, they research their friends to find out what they own.
PS3 owners, might be more popular with the older crowd due the Blu-Ray player. If you look into Home Theater enthusiast, you will find that a significant portion are older adults.
By the way, if there is any hype it is the Wii. I own one and rarely ever play it. I suspect this applies to a majority of consumers...
why don't these developers leave and start a new company. The two lead "staffer" should just join Itagaki and just sue for back page wages. Why Stick with a company that is obviously badly managed and treat their employees poorly.
Is the the love they have for the company?
Without MS, Sony would probably not have friends-list and voice chat, you would still be stuck with the terrible $600 PS3 right now.
I wonder if there is a survey on people that own both consoles, what consoles gets used the most? I'm almost certain the 360 get's it fair share of time.
I'm hoping for great things with the future of PS3, but right now other than MGS4 not much is getting me interrested.
