If sales speak, it appears that people eat up the 360 like candy. MS is still not dropping the price for the 360 yet. Why? Because sales are good.

----------------------------- ------------------------------- -------

In my opinion, and many of you fanboys will disagree, is that despite the PS3's better specs the features that gamers care about are on the 360. Ask yourself the following:

- Why is it that it has taken Sony almost 1.5 years to releas...

I don't know why people have this thing against Vista. From what I can tell, they brought a slew of new improvements and introduced some bad ones. Just like the previous release Windows XP, everybody hated it and swore they would stick with win2k.

History repeates itself....

I'm not sure why people keep pulling the racist card. By the fact that the person is seeing the game in a racist light, makes that person a racist....

@ucantbanme:

I definetly agree with you man. As developer (not of games though) myself, I see many of the points that you listed as huge selling point to developers. MS is king when it comes to software and they have shown it time and time again. They have the large install base, highest attach rate, shorter development time, better development platform and lower cost than PS3.

Sony so far has been full of promises with no results and I say, I will believe it whe...

@thewhoopimen:

MS is going in because Japan is a huge market that is important not only from a sales stand point, but also support from Japanese developers. That is at least how I would see it, if I was running the ship.

I'm not saying attach rate is more imprtant than user base or vice versa. Obviously, the only number that matter is the number of units sold. However, Sony at the moment is dead last with the least number of units sold and lowest attach rate. ...

I don't know about you guys, but I felt Nintendo turned their backs on hardcore gamers a long time ago. I own a Wii, PS3 and a Xbox 360. The console that gets the least love is Wii.

I use my PS3 for Blu-Ray, Xbox 360 for games and my Wii for nothing! I can't even play a DVD movie in the Wii! The graphics most of the time are subpar (suprise?) and the controls are very awkward and gimmicky.

Personally, I did not like Super Mario Galaxy as I still have not beaten t...

Sucks for those who paid for the PC service though! I have a two Xbox Live Gold cards that would be worthless if Xbox Live went free. Maybe I should get rid of them while I still can.

I don't know. Sony seems to have a hard time telling consumers what the difference is between their SKU's. To me, unless I wanted MGS4 (which I do and am proud to own a MGS4 PS3 LE console), the 80GB with BC is not appealing. Of course consumers don't know this, but the lower end 80GB with fewer ports is a more silent running machine. That is a huge plus in my book.

Bottom line is I don't think BC is coming back any time soon, as they are trying to squeeze profit out of this ma...

there is part hardware (chips) in the PS3 for emulation. The more hardware the better compatibility. Right now the 40GB has no hardware at all and everything had to be accomplished through software. An expensive and potential long development time.

I don't think Sony will be going down that path any time soon, despite the rumoured PS2 downloadable purchased games.

1)I said what I said and you can twist and turn it any way you want. It doesn't change the current affairs. There are always exception to the rule, and you can point out those exceptions, but it doesn't change the Japanese culture. I suggest you do a little research on Japanese culture and mindset in business.

2) MS might not have exactly gained it yet, but they surely will over it's lifetime. Unless you are so naive to think they aren't going to sel...

It is true that PS3 is catching up, but that is due to 1 additional market that is next to impossible for the 360 to compete in, namely Japan. To give a fair comparison I think we should remove Japan, as it is such an odd market with extreme national product loyalty.

Another factor is, PS3 momentum is in part due to the blu-ray player. Currently prices for stand-alone and PS3 is similar. A wise consumer would choose the PS3 due to the potential for firmware updates. I would alm...

This is more of an emotional win for MS. MS is trying to turn the Xbox 360's image from a western centric and FPS only gaming console. In order to do that, they need an overwhelming amount of games that cater to the Japanese people and more so than Sony to convince consumers otherwise.

It would have little impact on MS shifting units, but will have a huge impact on PS3's perceived image. Many Sony exclusives are now multiplatform. In many cases multiplatform games sell better o...

Openly Sony Fanboy! Why would you be so upset with Square Enix letting one of their games go multiplatform that you would sell all your priced SE games? It's not like it isn't on the PS3 anymore. Nothing should have changed for you.

That is just sad and funny at the same time. I didn't realize that you guys actually existed. I'm starting to believe that people would get suicidal now. Get a life....

Could it be that they are bundling a GAMING console with a GAMING laptop...? That seems like a terrible market to advertise a GAMING console to the GAMING crowd. /sarcasm

Stupid speculation and any idiot could see that Sony is doing the same thing with their TV. Maybe all stores that sell Windows or MS Office, but also sell 360's are in on it as well.

If MS or Sony bundled their console with a fridge, then I would start questioning it.

I like that...

What stood out to me, is I didn't realize that Kojima had spent 4 years on the game. Two of those years expirementing and preparing for the machine. That is crazy!

To all you fanboys, it took 4 years to create as someone would say "HD" game. I would rather have a slightly sub HD game and get one every two years!

Also, what is up with the mess of frequent installation between levels? MGS4 is a great game, but an odd for sure.

With the succ...

That might not be the case. Mass Effect was exclusive to the 360, yet it was ridden with bugs and frame rate issues. In fact, many games seem to be ridden with bugs regardless of them being exlusive or multi-platform. It is a business decision, pure and simple. If the company is well managed, it will likely to have products released when ready.

Having good development tools certainly helps though....

It is not about the skills/talent of the workers, but rather if resources should be put in to fix PS3's deficiencies. As a project manager, you decide with the limited resources you have (both of your employees and of yourself to manage) how to put that best to use. Bioware already has experience with 360, and they probably want to stick to that.

It is pretty darn clear that Sony F* up the development tools and engineered the PS3 for something else than gaming. It is just recen...

You are right, when I looked at the article initially it wasn't linked to translated google version. I got confused and thought it was a new console bundle.... That obviously couldn't cost 60 euro.

That is a great deal, and GoW is one of the best games I played recently.

Obviously that bundle going to cost more than 60 euro. Anyone know the actual price? That is a very good bundle!!!

I suspect the reason was that the game was pushed out the door and they didn't have time. Maybe the levels weren't that good and Itagaki discarded them. With Itagaki out of the way, Tecmo is just trying to milk it.

@scthor: I highly doubt the size of the disc has anything to do with it not included on disc. Do you even investigate the storage size for NG2?
