It seems the author of the article is a little confused. There is no installing a game on the hard drive, it just a cache of the disc on the hard drive. It is also optional, and not required. Why are so many people confused at such a simple idea?
By the way, I agree with the above poster. I'm excited about the avatars.... It looks much more mature than the Wii ones.
I agree. It is obvious, if you look at even neutral comments get disagrees on a 360 article. Go to a PS3 article and there is significantly less hatred towards it....
I guess Sony did a good job building a loyal fanbase....
I think that is a poor analogy, because for children you need to give them positive re-inforcement. Especially if they are retarded. I think your comment is kind'a uncalled for.
I see it from a different perspective as I have always seen MS being good to their consumers. I have never really had a complaint about a piece of MS software and their activation policy on Windows XP/MS Office 2003 is awesome. IE was free and integrated well with Windows. Almost non-existant DRM in prior versions of Windows (I haven't used Vista/Office 2007 enough to know, only things I hear). I actually dread if we had some other company having the monopoly....
Sony on the o...
it is an anti-fanboy article until you realize the article isn't neutral and spews PS3 preferences... duh! That is just stupid....
even if warcraft 4 is in the works, it takes blizzard ages to release a game. It could take them half a decade to finish the game.... blizzard style
I think it was pretty well done as well, and think it was done just for irony and the fun... No need to jump out and try and make it a fanboy war.
PS3 owners will get the NXE by switching over to a 360! duh!
Well the real question is what happens when you can't meet the 128MB requirement? Does the dash revert to a simple mode?
I must agree with man_of_the_year here. If you are writing a piece of opinion supporting the advantages of 360, why the heck are you talking about advantages of PS3?
If you don't understand that, you should either stay in school or go back to school. It is English 101....
This is why a MS/Sony joint console would be awesome (except for the lack of competition though), because Microsoft excel (no pun intended) at Software and understands User Interfaces while Sony understand hardware.
It is so funny, because never have I ever seen such disparity in the strenght and weakness in two competing companies in the same market. They are like polar opposite that would complement each other like Ying and Yang!
Maybe Kotaku is so one sided since SONY blacklisted them and tried to pressure them....
But, hey, let's focus on MS fault because we aren't biased here. /sarcrasm
The other side of it is, who the heck is gaminggazette. Why would I even take them serious? It's like the pot calling the kettle. It also seems childish to call people out like that.
You made some good points, but in some ways you answered your own question. Sony has a history of showing off early concept work that is expected to be released far far into the future. Problem with this is that there are a lot of promises that get's made and they get old when they constantly get delayed and expectations aren't met. See what happened to Home.... MS is guilty of this as well, but they don't show stuff that aren't ready sans Too Human.
Development issues are on b...
Why do people keep complaining about the lack of hard drive issue? It's stupid!
The Xbox 360 Arcade can do almost everything the Wii can (except for the wifi) do at a lower price and exceed it from a hardware point. You get some free arcade games to get you started and if you needed a hard drive, it is a $100 away! Yes it is expensive, but there is an upgrade path. Is there much of an upgrade path on the Wii?
Yes, you still have to buy Live membership, but you k...
Who the heck is this "John" guy that announced the date? There is no source, and I never ever heard of the site. Great if it is true, but I'm going to file this under rumour.
Anyone care to enlighten me....
edit: nvm, found it at Major Nelsons site: "John Schappert, Corporate Vice President of Xbox LIVE". That is just one badly reported site, not only going by first name, but no freaken title. How does news like that get approved? By idiots I...
There are a lot of things people are saying here that is all wrong:
- 20% improvement on a 10 second load time is really only 2 second saved. So yes, you will not notice huge improvements....
- Offering this functionality is probably NOT intended to sell you on the hard disc, but rather to reduce the number disc read errors and warranty replacement. Who here is afraid of disc read errors? That is what I'm most afraid of on my Falcon 360. This kind of failure is only cove...
Too me the graphics didn't seem that far apart if even noticeable for most. This is a great game and I would highly recommend it. If you got both PS3 and 360, I recommend gettting it at a budget price on the 360.
I think probably the more important thing to me than graphics is the controller....
The interresting thing from a technical side is, why do they have to implement a blur effect to keep the framerate smooth? Why would applying a filter improve framerate,...
Most likely they are reffering to the tank, there is nothing limited about the GeoW LE other than it will likely not be re-printed.
Ohhh, I'm so confused... .I might think the school is owned and operated by Apple. Trademarks are there to protect consumers from branding confusion and not there to protect companies. I'm guessing unless the school gives in due to financial pressure, Apple will loose.
I think dish network now has a close to 1080p blu-ray quality channels... You can also get those "now" obselete HD-DVD players as an add-on to 360 or as a standalone player.
