Sony certainly has come closer to matching Xbox Live service competely free! I'm all for Sony's dedicated servers and free online play. However, one must ask how long Sony can continue to provide all this for free while bleeding money. The service has to be funded somehow and Sony isn't doing this just for goodwill.
I think Nintendo mentioned something about chargig for their online service as well. I must admit that I don't remember exactly what it was all about.
Another way for Nintendo to screw gaming and mess up the market. They introduced region free and now taking it away in exchange for parental control software.... Just what every gamer needs.
For every RROD console, there are others that are working fine after all these years.
There is no doubt the older consoles had issues, but I think the newer ones with the Falcon Motherboard has been improved. These failures are most likely old consoles or refurbished consoles.
There are no excuse from MS for the higher than usual percentage of defect, but they have extended the warranty. As I said before, this is obviously not a business model and MS paid dearly....
Maybe we should get twelve year olds to review the games. It sounds like the author of the article wants to redefine the scoring system to cather to fun. How do one define fun? He is pointing to a problem, but not really pushing a solution....

- Who is ripping you off, when Wii cost more than the Xbox 360 and does less? Wii has almost non-existent online play and charge you for both the nunchuk and the wiimote.
- Who has the lousiest SKU lineup? MS has 3-skus differentiating mainly between Elite includes large hard drive with HDMI cables, premium with standard hard drive and arcade with memory card. All Sku's come with component and composite cables. PS3 has 2-skus differenti...
How the hell do you disagree with something I did? I swear, there are fanboys just disagreeing with me because I said something negative about the PS3.
I bought a special edition version of the console that came with the limited edition MGS4 game. The console had a run of less than 10k and was priced at $599+tax+shipping and hence the $670 freaken price tag.
That would only be sweet if we could play PS2 games from the disc. If it is true, I'm afraid they are only going to enable it for PS2 downloaded games of PSN....

The 360 will never catch up to the PS3 in Japan, but it can potentially warm the Japanese people to it for the next generation. Kind'a what the original Xbox did in the US. I'm rooting for better performance for Xbox 360 in Japan and PS3 in the US.

With the new Nintendo DSi, it seems Nintendo is all about small incremental changes with a new price tag to gouge you with.
All the advantages are mute in the long run if PS3 doesn't get a sizeable user base. Developers don't care about advantages, unless they can sell games to more people.
I recognize many of the PS3's qualities, but since I got my PS3 this summer it has mostly just been sitting there. A $670 paperweight since I bougt the special edition MGS4 PS3 console.... I occassionally play Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but now spend most of my time playing Ninja Gaiden 2!!!
It makes sense to me, with improved matchmaking your kills should go down. That means it is more of a level playing field. You are now better matched up with people on your level.
I always get my ass kicked at Halo 3 online.... maybe it would be more fun now.
I think this speaks volumes about the new Red Alert. Managment care more about sex appeal than delivering a quality product. How Tanya turned from a dark haired strong women to a fake blond hot slut, I dunno.
Jenny is a terrible actor and it shows too. She has only one good redeeming quality and that is she is STILL HOT after all these years. Still don't want her in the game though.... reminiscing about the time when Westwood Studios was still independent!

Blu-Ray is just overhyped by Sony. After a certain point, the increases in fidelity is incremental.
I think DVD marked that point. Going from standard definition to high definition you barely notice the difference . Yes, it is there if you look and yes it is sharper, but does it feel like 6 times as great? HD at 1080p has almost 6 times the resolution of a 480p SD. The time The rare times you notice significant difference is when it is on very large screen.

What moron would put it on top, especially considering the freaken Xbox version has been out for a while. Perhaps Sony should learn from Microsoft's ability to copy others ideas. Don't try to be different unless it is going to be better, just copy and improve. Gheeeeez.....
edit: The only logical answer I have, is because the PS3 controller is too darn small. Sticking something between the 'handles' don't allow for comfortable hold...
This was one of the games I was looking forward to this year. I'm a huge fan of C&C... This reminds of the time when they canned Starcraft Ghost (albeit 3rd person) it still looked damn good.
I want to see this games even if it is crappy! Can't be worse than some of the other cr*p being released.
It is pretty clear that the US economy is heading fast into a recession. It seems MS only has a 7% drop which matches Sony, which is in both cases small considering the Dow is at 6% drop today so far.
