My cousin probably out of the box had a problem with the HDMI port on his 40GB PS3. I'm saying probably, since he never used the port until recently. Machine was purchased around November 08', I think.

Sony took care of it under warranty, but instead did an exchange. He had already backed up his hard drive, but couldn't transfer all the data to the new console. He lost all his progress (unlocked characters among other things) for SF IV and some other games.

NG2 was made on an old engine from the original Xbox. The same on that the original Ninja Gaiden was released on. Take what you want from that.

Nobody is saying that NGS2 isn't going to look better than the current 360 version, that is a given. That still doesn't prove PS3's (or 360's for that matter) power, games like KZ2 (or Gears of War 2) does....

This is really an exercise in futility. People will see what they want.

'The mag [Playstation magazine] has a quote from Hayachi saying, "Violence is not going to be one of the key selling points of this title... It's not all about how bloody it is." Instead they're going for "a much cooler, cleaner, sleeker look". So you won't see great big spurts of blood, but clouds of purple essence when enemies get dismembered.'

That is like saying Street Fighter IV (a game released at the same time) was better on the 360 and therefore the 360 must be superior to the PS3. A game released more than a year later and is more or less a port should look marginally better. It would be a blow if it looked worse. Either way it is minimal and most people probably don't care.

Co-op is welcome, although it isn't for the story mode, just specific missions ala mission mode.

I don't care about the resolution, but man the lack of blood will be something I will visually miss! It is extremely satisfying to see the carnage left behind with bodies everywhere and blood splattered on the walls and on the street.

300k copies sold in it's two first day in the US alone is in a no way a flop!

At best it didn't live up to it's hype or expected sales goal for a game of this caliber, but a flop it is not.

Funny thing, the author states that he does not wish to contribute to petty console wars, but his title is flamebait.

Actually, I see this as a pretty smart business move. By splitting it up, they retain the original fanbase that undoubtedly the game will sell, but now got 2 IPs instead. The only thing is dropping the CoD name now might be too soon, as Modern Warfare might not be well known enough yet.

That is a risky move though....

Commonly available hard drive sizes will always be cheaper than sizes that are being phased out. You can't easily find 40GB's anymore, and soon the 80GB will be harder to find too. Sony will then include the 160GB as standard.

Sony will not drop any more features, I mean what the heck can they possibly drop on it now without seriously affecting the value proposition. Only bet is to consolidate and reduce number of components as well as reducing the die size and improving yield. T...

lol!

Frankly speaking, Sony might not have the funds to buy third party exclusives anymore. They really don't have to either as over time they have amassed a large number of first party studios that have proven to be able to produce some amazing games.

MS is just going with a different business model, funding the IP rather than buying studios as good as their staff that can leave anytime. Unless you are good at keeping the talent, something MS has proven otherwise,...

I was under the impression that PS3 had DTS audio for games as well and not just Blu-Ray. I guess not....

It is a legitimate complaint, but I can see how it was missed. I don't think this will be fixed though, but perhaps the developer could in the future have the option of allowing or disallowing this feature at any time, but it would be enabled by default.

Blizzard is pretty good to their fans. Let's see what happens with Stacraft II especially considering the Activision Blizzard merger.

I don't know why we have all this snobby behavior due to this improved version of the game coming out on the PS3, but it appears a lot of people (or should I say PS3 fans) were jealous that the 360 got this exclusive game as evident by the behavior.

It is almost a year later and I got to enjoy it on the 360 all this time. I'm happy that I now get more Ninja Gaiden. I don't care if it is on the PS3 or 360 as long as I get more Ninja Gaiden with or without blood!

Yeah, they are so biased they give a similar article about the PS3:

Is this guy going to be the next arrogant Itagaki?

Hmmm... so co-op isn't in story mode and most likely mission mode style. The blood and severed limbs were most satisfying in NG2 for the 360. I loved how the blood was spattered on the walls and the enemies still laying dead scattered around. Too bad they won't leave that intact.

Why not? The 360 version is still a great game! There is still no guarantee this version will be better and I personally prefer the 360 controller for this type of games.

As xino was saying, the game is buttersmooth until you hit a lot of enemies or you hit a load point. In level 2 there is a point where there are some extremely annoying rocket ninja's and they are placed in a point where you have to pass the load point. Unfortunately, you have to move around all the time to avoid getting hit, but moving means moving back and forth between the load point causing slowmo game play.... I hope Team Ninja fixes some of the problems found on the 360 version.

I completely agree with this article. I haven't bought a game for the Wii since Okami many months ago.

To add to Kigmal's statement of my own opinion, Hiyashi directed the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3. We all know how fun the extra character was to play. If anything, Hiyashi has proven the contrary, but I could be wrong. Still very much looking forward to NGS2. Anything Ninja Gaiden get's my money!
