Sure it didn't affect game play, but none the less was something that was there before the port. They basically removed something that was there for payment.
It is true that they added these other features, but those are an incentive for others like me to buy the game. Would I have bought the game without online play? I wouldn't and most others probably wouldn't either.
They have a right to charge for it because they have a right to charge for anything they make, but...
The only items I purchase at GameStop are new games that are hard to find (yet I'm more likely to find it online anyhow) and special editions only sold by GS. Everything is bought online, at Walmart/Target stores.
A lot of the innovation is obviously done early one, as the industry matures it gets increasingly difficult to be more creative.... duh. It is obvious.
"And I only purchase games on the date of their release from Gamestop (EB Games here in Canada). If the game has been out for a while, chances are it may have been "sleeved"."
Chris,
What is a "sleeved" game? Somehow a resealed copy?
Isn't developing the engine part of developing the game? I mean, I know that many developers license engines from other companies as a shortcut, but still many developers build their own engine i.e. Unreal (Epic Games), MT Framework (Capcom) and so on....
I have seen plenty of advertisement for KZ2 on Tv. I think it was either or both Sci-Fi and/or Spike. Both with heavy male demographic I imagine.
This is closer to the price of used games should be 20%+ off new price. I'm assuming the 15% off is on top of the 10% they already give.
I enjoyed the first LP quite a bit and bought all console releases of this game (albeit all three cost me less than one at launch). The more the merrier is my opinion, if PS3 get's it great. I will probably be buying this game myself on the 360.
Now onto the issue of MS actually paid for this. In an interview with Capcom, they indicated this game [LP2] has been in development for 16 months, that is prior to the release of LP1 for the PS3 (Feb 2008) and just around the time when L...
I for the most part agree to this, don't buy it if you don't agree. That is the attitude I had regarding Street Figther IV as well, but then I found out that they took out stuff from the arcade version (i.e. the outfits) and made it a DLC. Basically, they charged us for something that is already included in the original release.
Not only did they charge us for it, they charged an exorbitant amount of about $5 for a set of 5 outfits. To get all outfits you would have to buy 5 pack...
The key point from the article is that this is 700k extra revenue i.e. sales, not profit. I wonder what the profit is on that, considering CE usually comes with an extra disc with prepared content and some other goodies i.e. keychain at a minimum.
Basically from the article, I concluded that the specs of a PC laptop is just a notch above the Mac. Reality is that if you go to any PC manufacturer and just configure a laptop you will get raped on price.
If you take into account sales, suddenly the PC really shines.
I admittedly sort of have a thing against Apple, but as well do admire their ingenious designs choices. However, I don't like the design over functionality choices Apple makes and that is why I have e...
"This weekend, my Dell laptop caught a virus that made it inoperable less than a week after a complete reformat and reinstall. So I bought a Mac laptop." -Adam Frucci
I'm not sure how somebody can get a virus after only one week after a complete re-install. I have used computers for over 20 years since my early early teens and I don't remember getting a virus. There has only been a recent time I thought I had a virus, but turned out to be a false alarm.
I ...

True it exist on steam, but I have all given up on PC gaming other than RTS (Starcraft 2 anyone?). Why? Because I constantly have to upgrade the darn thing, it is just outright cheaper to play on console. It's either I pay for the software or the hardware and decent hardware is usually considerably more expensive.
Last time I tried a Lost Planet demo on my SLI rig, it looked crappier than my console counterparts by miles and was barely playable with skippi...
Is White Knight Chronicles really native full 1080p? Source please?
I haven't seen a single game at full 1080p worth mentioning in the graphics department.
Pretty obvious conclusion, but I'm suprised that it isn't trailing further behind considering their demographics.
More people need to know about this. ISPs are ripping is off
further....
Is it me or are phone, cable and internet service providers the biggest rip off companies that instead of improving their service continually try to reduce it while charging more?
Conveniently all three services are usually rolled into one giant rip off company. Wish there was a way to sue the sh!t of them for this virtual monopoly they have on each region.
Personally, I loved this game and will be getting the sequel. The question is when? Probably when it hits close to the bargain bin price.
There should be better ways to track a person's progress in game than achievement. However, I like the fact that I'm more inclined to finish a game if I get achievement, because it feels unfinished if I didn't get that "completed game" achievement.
Seems stupid, for all I know the guy broke off the pin the CPU himself. Newegg's policy state they don't accept returns/exchanges on CPU due to bent/broken pins.
Unknown source of CPU is one reason I never buy OEM. If you buy retail boxed CPU, you are practically guaranteed a non bent-pin(s) CPU. They are packaged really well from the factory....
The $400 garners MS more money and obviously more profit. Besides the $400 range garners a different type customer, the kind that wants the best and money is no objection.
It is similar to Sony pushing a 160GB PS3 for $500 when it is identical to the 80GB. The $100 difference can buy you a 320GB hard drive 2.5" for about $50 and remaining for a game....
