I'm suprised Xbox 360 is on top of the satisfaction curve, but sell the poorest. In fact, satisfaction seems inverse proportional to the sales chart in Japan.

I can't say for the other games, but SF IV was damn good!!!

yeah, because we should "totally" be concerned about the games and ignore the parental responsibility. I would bet more people die of drunk driving/driers every day than animal cruelty as a result of video games.

Heck, there is way more animal cruelty in animal slaughterhouses than... you get the picture.

What a joke and waste of time!!!

I guess somebody has to foot the bill. I suspect moving forwards, game demos and map packs will stay. I mean it is still a profitable business. It just means the Xbox version has a higher profit margin.

On the flip side other free content will probably be limited on PSN, because why would a publisher want to release extra goodies that take money/effort to create and then get another charge from Sony....

No, because they are both completely different games that target different markets. That is like saying Wii Play is among the best games based on the sales alone... you have to take into account circumstances as well.

If we were comparing Halo 3 to let say Haze, then yes the consumers have spoken. It has to be in the same genre... duh!

It is undeniable that Halo 3 is a product consumers consider a great game, it is still on the top 20 charts in February, almost 18 m...

@bittertruth:

Do you have any source for how NPD collects data for late releases? It seems like an important detail to leave out of your data?

To be fair to the PS3, the game was on sale for two days in February. In addition, the PS3's strenght isn't the US, but Europe and to some degree Japan.

We really should see worldwide sales number for KZ2 in March to get a good picture. Still 300k in the first two days seems kind of low for a game of this caliber, with expanded advertising (per Sony) and the immense hype it received.

Before people get all wild and blame MS, Joystiq's article is based off less than 50 reported cases. I guess you can extrapolate a lot from nothing....

It is clear that this study is highly inaccurate. You have millions of consoles and a study purporting significantly less than 50 consoles reported with this error.

Clearly joystiq, whom I frequently read, is just trying to get hits instead of doing proper research.

It's funny how even the games rating scores have swapped for Sony and MS between the previous generation and the current.

I'm looking forward to this game as well, but ultimate version will probably stay on the 360. The way Itagaki intended it.

I tried the demo, didn't really like it. IMO it is way overhyped!

Although I prefer my 360 (chief reason is the controller), this is welcome news. I'm always up for more NG content no matter if it is on the PS3 or the Xbox 360.

To those complaining about NG2 on the 360's framerate issues, as far as I know NG2 was developed on an aging game engine. I heard it was ported straight from the original Xbox. This coupled with Itagaki's departure, it is a miracle the game is still so much fun!

NG2 for 360 is my game of the year for 2008!!...

The way EA revealed this means that ME2 will most likely be released on PS3 as well, in a year when it likely doesn't matter more to MS or the fanboys. It will eventually get there and unless a they repeat the Orange Box debacle (crappy port), the PS3 version is the definitve version to get.

I can see where Christian Svensson is coming from, but what bothers me is that the DLC's rarely is worth it's price tag. Usually DLC is a bonus, not a premium cost item that Capcom seem to think.

It is ridiculous that a costume pack for SF IV cost 400 points and a lot of things that used to be FREE extras are now being charged for. Can you blame us for being upset?

Make the DLC a worthy addition and charge us for it and no-one will complain! Don't take out features t...

More booth space certainly suggest more stuff to show. However, they can also just repeat the same stuff over and over. I'm going with the former as that makes much more logical sense. We will see...

If you say anything positive about the 360, you will immediately get countless phantom disagrees. Just get used to it... Disagrees doesn't mean anything.

What do you mean, I saw crap load of media complaint about GeoW2 multiplayer. Heck, we are still receiving articles like this on GeoW2. I haven't seen any socom 2 or resistance 2 article bashing their online component recently.... Resistance 2 and GeoW2 came out about the same time!

I agree. I'm expecting some announcement of some upcoming unannounced games.

You know, I don't think PSN is failing it is just not well thought out and planned. MS still got the upper hand that shows in the number of people willing to pay for the service. Just look at the number of unique gamers that played CoD4 online, 11 million vs. 4 million on PSN.

On the other hand I do see what the article is talking about (to the dismay of PS fanboys). PSN wasn't and isn't well thought out and Sony is putting resources into Home. To me, Home has been a complete was...

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised as I just bought a Vizio 32" VW32L on sale for $380. It is 720p, but for gaming it is perfect as most games natively run at 720p or lower. Higher resolution would force the console (i.e. 360) or the TV (i.e. PS3) to scale. TV's generally has a terrible scaler.

Anyhow, the Vizio had excellent picture quality compared to my Sony and almost on par. I noticed the Sony had more vibrant colors, but it certainly wasn't worth an extra 50-80% extra co...
