The Japanese have really wacky taste in gaming.... I mean don't everyone over there already have a PS2 by now? The PS2 has a large game library, but time to upgrade people!
It is like the country is going backwards in gaming, handheld selling better than consoles and now this.
While we are at it, we should make PS3 play Xbox 360 games and Xbox 360 play PS3 games.
Yeah, I must agree with the terrible d-pad on the 360. I had to buy a fight pad to play SF IV since it was so bad.... I also caved in and ordered a joystick probably arrive in May/June. It's as if monkeys tested and approved the 360 d-pad at MS.
On the flip side, it is this abnormality that caused SF IV for the PS3 to sell so well so hopefully we can get the supposed improved d-pad on the 360 that exist only in Europe. WTF!

The funny thing is, MS was the one that used to only have 2 large updates annually and Sony used to come out whenever with incremental feature updates. Personally I prefer twice a year, unless there is a critical update, but it really doesn't matter.

Xbox 360 got Gears 2, which looks amazing on just Unreal's multi-platform engine. Imagine what 3-4 years of building and tweaking a new game engine would do for a 360. Why shouldn't it be possible on the 360?

Completely agree. Vista runs great, other than requiring a little more resources hence less snappy than XP. User interface is considerably better.
the fact that the fan is spinning on the 40GB at a slower speed than the 60GB means the 40GB is transporting less heat away from the console, and yet maintain the same temperature signature as the 60GB. This means the 40GB produces less heat!

Well, it seems MS is moving to a different business model. It seems to be cheaper for MS to fund the development of new games IP than owning and managing their own studios.

I kind of agree with zeus here, although it isn't in the policy and I have witnessed many times that ppeople are very harsh with the report button sometimes it is not warranted.
Sony would drop that price if they could. Let's face it, no console manufacturer (except Nintendo) is making money on each console sold. Most of the profit comes from accessories and software. Obviously a larger user base, results in more people buying both software and accessories. So dropping the price makes perfect sense if they could!

PS3 was initiallys billed as the supercomputer media hub in your home. Sony wouldn't even call it a game console.
