Not only do the games have to be cheap, but they also have to look cheap!!!

I agree, the old Platinum Hits was so ugly I wondered what MS was thinking. Thank God for the newer design, but why can't they just leave the original art and at best put stickers on it since they have to market it as "greatest/platinum hits"?

lol...

Sony never lies! It just means, all the people that pre-ordered in Europe took a month to pick it up and they didn't sell a single extra copy in the rest of the world. /sarcasm

This is damage control from Sony. It took them OVER a month to sell 1 million games of this caliber? Heck, didn't CoD 4, a multiplatform, sell better than this even accounting for the time frame?

Given that Xbox supposedly have twice the install base (some Sony fanboys argue less due to defective machines) as PS3, but the lack of hype and the smaller market for RTS games, it is incredible that in 3-4 weeks of sale it beat KZ2's five weeks of sale.

RTS on consoles are considered huge successes if it sells 500k.

In fact, I would say it is pathetic sales number and embarrassing to Sony that this is the game that sold fastest to 500k (or something to that effect ...

Unfortunately, even if it drags out to ten or even twelve years, by that time it doesn't matter very much. The important phase is in the first 5 years, not when a new console is out and the previous generation is a remnant of the past.

Even if the big two, Sony and MS, is trying to extend this generation to recoup the cost, it is conceivable that Nintendo will force the other two to release a new console. Worse is that, MS has proven that first to market has a huge advantage and...

Here is an eye opener for some:

- Considering Xbox has twice the install base in the US as PS3 i.e. 12 million to 6 million (take or give due to numbers missing the all important holiday season of 2008). Source:

- Xbox outselling PS3 at least a 100k every month in the US and that is considere...

Wouldn't suprise me, as take two not too long ago was in financial trouble and had to release GTA IV early to improve their financials. They weren't exactly acting in the best long term interest of the shareholders though.

Judging from the development time and cost of GTA IV, it probably will be a while plus they are also focusing on the second DLC episode.

The question really is, why isn't it on the PS3? I mean it makes even more sense than the 360 since at least some portion of the PS3's install base bought it as a standalone Blu-Ray player and the overall user base is far more interested in movies since the 360 only play's DVDs.

I would welcome it on my PS3, although I no longer have Netflix subscription....

Doesn't suprise me. I mean what do you expect Sony to do once they run out of the 80GB BC PS3s?

I feel confident they sold way more of the 60GB PS3 than the 80GBs. Thus there are more in the market that breaks and can get fixed and exchanged. The 80GB software BC PS3 although were on the market for almost as long as the 60GB BC model, it was the premium model and didn't sell as well as the 40GB for obvious reasons.

This story seems as legitimate as any other story a...

Do you have a source for this?

I'm sure it is possible, but that would defeat the purpose of the software BC in the 80GB PS3.

The SDForce is very strong on this site! Worse, nobody says anything about how Kotaku is supposed to be biased against PS3 and for Xbox 360. I guess that doesn't apply anymore when there is positive PS3 "news". sigh....

So they are going to port GeoW 1 and 2 to the PS3? I mean because it is on a blu-ray disc doesn't mean my PS3 can play it since the data is probably still for PS2....

This was for a company I worked for and this was a few years ago. I'm not super familiar with Macs as I haven't owned one personally other than the interaction I get through work i.e fixing them and installing software. The version of Adobe CS was that, the first one (CS1). I didn't check the specs, as I assumed that any updates I needed will be downloaded. I was unpleasantly surprised.

Comparing Vista to ME isn't exactly the same as comparing what I consider minor revisions to M...

All 3 games on one blu-ray disc would be awesome, but many PS3's aren't BC so can't play GoW 1/2...? Something I'm missing?

I actually prefer the battery setup of the 360. Why? Because it uses regular AA batteries, the kind you can find in the store.

Benefit:

- I can have pre-charge batteries sitting around ready to go. If I run out of charge, it is an easy task to put some new ones in and back into play.

- No messy wires that are too short (Sony what were you thinking with that short USB cord?) and a b!tch to charge. Batteries don't charge when you turn off your console (PS3...

You can replace your PC each year and buy a Mac once every three year and still come out ahead with a PC.

Why does nobody complain about the fact that OS updates on Mac OSX cost money. Last I got one of those hostage situation where I could NOT install Adobe Creative Suite due to missing software update, Apple gave me the choice of paying up $70-80 for the update.

I don't use virus scanners and for the most part only use the built-in XP firewall or on occassions ...
