Sweet, time to hit up some friends that don't have Live Gold....
This guy is of course going to say he is not worried about the poor 3rd party hardcore games selling poorly on Nintendo platform.
Has there even been one successful 3rd party hardcore title? The only one I can think of is, CoD on the Wii sold pretty well. Beyond that, I haven't seen anything....
Gamers shouldn't care about sales and go play video games. I'm interested out of pure curiosity.
However, sales affect sequels. Do you think we will get a sequel to Okami, Zak and Wiki or Mad World?
Now what is common about those three games? They are all on the Wii platform. Sooner or later, Wii games released in genres that tend to attract hardcore gamers will likely slow down. That might be the reason we continue to receive so few hardcore games already.

Too bad the game was canceled due to pressure.
Personally, I think it is ridiculous that we we constantly give up due to this sort of pressure. Although based on a recent war, it isn't as if we picked on a particular person or family. It is a video game based on true events nothing more...
Even people just channeled their energy into things that matters instead of their self importance, the world would be a much better place.
I'm thinking they should ap...
I don't think this game is considered a failure either from a gamer standpoint or commercial. It posted respectable sales number and although doesn't have new innovative game play elements is more than a gamers bliss.
What it failed at, is the incredible hype that Sony put out fueling the flames of fanbois everywhere for years. They started with this CGI (which they matched) of what the game would look like years ago giving gamers a hope and almost 4 years to discuss how awesome ...
Are you freaken serious?
You already spent the money on the points, they are giving you back the 400 points they overcharged plus another 100 as an apology i.e. they are giving you extra in the currency you spent in the first place.
I don't even know why I even respond to you, because obviously this doesn't even seem to concern you as you seemed to be massively misinformed or spreading FUD.
On top of that people are agreeing with you!
All of what the article mentions is valid, but is negated by the simple fact that doing anything on Linux beyond regular stuff is complex with configuration files that are badly documented. Neither is there any consistency, it is the wild wild west of utilities and apps.
Ever tried to configure Apache over IIS? Ever tried to configure Subversion? Linux works fine if you just want to do simple stuff with it, but once you pass that it is a pain!
Ease of use is the most...
In my opinion the Xbox 360 controller (other than the crappy d-pad) is hands down the best controller I have ever used.
The GC controller is among the worst IMO and for that I laugh in your face.
The downside is I heard of a couple of cases where the code doesn't work from Amazon. I wonder how that is disputed?
Twisting numbers, selectively setting the cut-off and excluding games can certainly spin the numbers in favor of one machine or the other.
I could have equally have said let's set the numbers at 500k, 5 million or 7 million.
Enough said, but Xbox 360 is unmatched when it comes to software and accessory attach ratio. Sony exclusives sells poorly relative to the market size and install base. Sony has so far this generation an unmatched upcoming exclusive game lineup. I...
Completely agree, would have preferred to see this on the PS3 and/or Xbox 360 at full 1080p!
On the flip side, my Wii finally gets some use.
It is all speculation, but the pricing scheme implemented in October certainly was well known far in advanced. The author of the article is responding:
"Michael [the author]: You have a point that the known fees appear to antedate the beta test. As far as I know, that does not imply that there weren't some kind of fees, specifically for special circumstances, prior to that. I believe it's likely that fees were known to be coming well in advance of the date cited in Totilo's ...
From the article:
"...he [Craig Thorner] had originally licensed his patents to Immersion"
Need I say more. This guy has a patent on it and licensed it to Immersion. The issue is that Sony didn't disclose information and was in collusion with another company. This isn't some random guy claiming that he invented something i.e similar to a patent troll.
He might have a case if he can prove it.
If you read the article, this guy is actually the original inventor and licensed the patent to immersion for a paltry $150,000. Sony then misled him. Confusing case indeed....
It took me over a week to get a game, more like week and a half. I canceled.... If it eats up almost half the month you are paying for to get a game, I would rather just own the game when it hits the bargain bin.
I agree for the most part with the article, but disagree on Halo 3. Last I checked older map packs were free. They charge competitively on all new map packs and continues to give support. Granted, a little to expensive for my taste compared to Live Arcade games.
What is interesting is the author first complains about Infinity Ward stopping support for CoD4, then turns around and complains about how Bungie (or big evil MS) is continually supporting Halo 3. WTF?
Am I m...
At least so far it is a victory, but it is no secret cable, phone and isp has been ripping us off for years especially when the get protection from the government in setting up virtual monopolies.
Regardless of KZ2 beating Halo 3 or not, that is good news!
Or you can just buy the beemer and keep it for a few years. Why not go another step? Buy a console instead of the PC and keep that for a few years....
Buying the latest and greatest rarely scales well relative to performance vs. value.
If you actually read the article Tom Petersen states something pretty obvious, the effect of increased CPU power after a certain point (i.e. no bottleneck) is negligible compared to getting additional or increased GPU power for gaming....
Why do you even bother being here?
You are always posting negative comments about anything MS in the 360 news section. What is the point? Go play some games on your PS3 instead of b!tching about MS!
