I think what the article is pointing at is the sudden disappointment for gamers that expected this game to be released within a month suddenly turning timed exclusive.
I kind of agree here, this is the worst kind of timed exclusive. Imagine, Street Fighter IV or Resident Evil 5 one month before release suddenly get's turned timed exclusive. I wonder what happens to the people that pre-ordered, that would piss me off. In some ways it is even a bigger slap in the face that it only...
I personally thoroughly enjoyed the first one. I'm looking forward to the second one that so far looks amazing.
It will come to the PS3 with some extra content though.... I prefer not to have timed exclusives because it basically steals the early adopters of extra content while excluding other gamers.
It is a lose-lose situation for gamers in general, but the practice is here to stay.

I agree with this article to a certain degree, except "£2m advertising budget" is actually quite a bit. It is U$4 million for a country that although accounts for a large portion of gaming is still getting quite a bit of marketing money.

Timed Exclusive in Europe Only. Does anyone really care about this game?
This only applies to Europe, not that it matters anyhow cause I wasn't planning to buy this game in the first place.

If it is on the disc or not doesn't matter. Besides because it is on the disc doesn't mean it wasn't created by someone. Would you prefer they not put it on the disc and force everyone to download it instead?
The kicker is that this was included in the arcade version, but removed to profit in the console version. Basically Capcom is punishing their customers for buying the game.
In the end people are willing to pay for it, therefore they can charge for it.
It was well known in advance that such a package was coming and likely cheaper than individually.
I certainly agree that it does, but for the most part it is now no longer an issue on newer machines. It cost MS a hefty $1 billion and they extended the warranty to 3-years. What more do you want?

Anyhow, more DLC no matter what console is good. More content is good for those that want it!

There is no reports MS is charging for content. In fact, they probably encourage people to put content on there. It basically adds another reason why Live is "supposedly" better than PSN and justifies the cost.
Furthermore, there is a good chance profit margins on Live is probably lower due to MS higher cut to subsidize the download. It all works out the same....
The only downside to the PSN fee for publishers only affects free stuff such as patches, demos and free DLC.
Paid DLC will just have a smaller profit margin for developers. It might not be profitable enough to make DLC for the PS3 due to the download tax, but it is unlikely. I mean $10 for the DLC, $0.16/GB is less than 2%. I highly doubt 2% is enough to sway a developer from making the content.
Stuff happens behind the scene so who knows, but so far it doesn't app...
For the tiny little arcade games like outrun should be 800 points or less, but there are bargains too, such as MvC2, SSF2HD Remix and Puzzle Fighter.
The items are priced to whatever the market will bear, and it seems people will buy overpriced DLC and arcade games. Don't blame the seller, blame the buyer!!!
Stop buying overpriced stuff and the seller will lower the cost.

I'm happy MS is not giving up on Japan because we would loose a lot of great games from the Japanese market. However, it is kind of sad that they are finally shipped their millionth console there after three and a half years.
Come on Japan, give the Xbox some love too. It is a great system.
