It is clear that Nintendo isn't selling more than PS3 due to price alone, otherwise Xbox 360 would have been number one.
Nintendo although is not my favorite console must be respected for their innovation throughout all their consoles even when they failed to realize the impact a disc based system will have at the time.
I'm looking forward to this, but not sure about the whole seductive/flirting british librarian look either....
I like the idea of the hair as her clothing though. SEXY!!!
... and the people here are much better judges of course? /sarcasm
Note, I don't agree or disagree with your statement.
Yeah, but OnLive isn't likely to survive given their technical issues unless cell phone companies give us faster connection everywhere at a cheaper price not to mention a host of other problems including:
- real-time video compression delay
- input lag delay
I haven't tried OnLive, but the only type of games I can see survive is XBLA type games, but then why bother?
That is why I don't think we will ever get rid of discs. There are too many people that prefer the disc over something you can download.
Don't you feel like you got more for your money when you are holding something tangible that you can resell in two years for $5?
Personally, I buy all my games new and I never resell them. I like to collect them on my shelf and for the most part buy them when they hit close to the bargain bin tag i.e. $30 or less with exception of ...
Well, we all see what is happening with the PC gaming industry slowly killed by overcharging for hardware that has to re-purchased every 2 years at most and the rampant piracy going on.
Already we can see that the cost of making a game more often than not is not paid for in sales even great games due to the large investment necessary.
Basically if we all paid for the games, it would be cheaper for everyone.
Killing piracy is like killing roaches. You never kill them all unless it is in an inhospitable environment alas the PS3 with Blu-Ray discs.
Sooner or later the PS3 games will be pirated as well when recordable media can hold that much data I'm sure....
I intended my comment for the 360 only. I edited to clarify that. If they are going to get rid of the engine responsible for one of the best looking games for the 360, they better darn well make sure we get something better. That was my point.
Uncharted looking better than GeoW or vice versa is debatable.
I agree that every engine will reach it's decline stage, but Gears of War 2 proves that Unreal 3 when pushed is still one of the best engines graphically for the 360.
What game available now looks better than GeoW2 on the 360? Even before GeoW2, there weren't any games that really gave it GeoW1 a run for its money in the graphic department until GeoW2. One could tend argue that developers are lazy for the 360 as well....
The first ME had technical issues, but it sure was a good game. Both review scores and game sales were good for Mass Effect.
If you are just going to hate, why go into this article and comment? We all know who the trolls are in this case....
Halo 3 was a great game, but the campaign seemed a little bland. However, I'm stoked about this ODST! Still prefer the Recon name instead of ODST though....
Yup, that is what I see too.
5eE3 -> See E3
This is one of those Sony biased articles from Kotaku... oh wait! Were are all the usual suspects clamoring for Kotaku's biaseness.
In a funny way, that does make sense in two ways:
a) from a gamer perspective, exclusive means will not exist on other consoles
b) from a magazine reader, exclusive means the magazine is spilling the beans first
So in reality the words exclusive has been vague for a long time. I have always assumed a) and b) abo...
Comments on here is just hilarious although not very nice.
You are correct. I'm not sure what I was thinking, 1TB = 1000GB.
I think I read the article quickly and picked up the number as 24 instead of 240 and it stuck with me.
It still doesn't change the fact that uncompressed data takes up considerably more space and it is not inconceivable that we can use up that space. Twenty years ago, a 1TB drive was inconceivably large and we still manage to outstrip that need already now. If it is there people will use it. As screen r...
Fair enough, but if you start using un-compressed video, textures and music the data blows up quickly. Going from Dual Layer DVD to blu-ray is factor of 5-6. Going from Blu-Ray to 12TB is a factor 24. Not really that much more.
Now MGS 8 can hopefully fit on one disc with both Japanese and English language track! I think it is short sighted to believe that people won't take advantage of the space if it is there....
Option 1, $7/month for 10 games out is a steal in my opinion. I still probably wouldn't sign up, since I hate recurring fees....
To put that in perspective, 2 maps for KZ2 cost you $6 and 4 maps for Halo 3 cost $10.
I don't play much KoF, but was just basing it on what I was seeing. That is why I'm asking....
Even more amazing is the fact that this slipped through in the first place. You would think that a computer manufacturer would be a little more careful about how they prepare their software for release....
This certainly isn't the first time something like this has happened to a manufacturer. One of the ones I vaguely remember is Apple with their Ipod.
