When you consider Sony sold a combined 250 million consoles (for PS1, PS2 and excluding PSP) you realize that Sony must have an immense fanbase. Not to mention the branding they already have as an electronics maker.
In my mind, Playstation brand is elevated to the level of Nintendo. Soon you can consider PS1 games nostalgia.
I'm sure it happens on both sides, I just happen to visit the 360 section more.
Still because it happens on the other side, doesn't justify doing it back. It just sours the whole experience for everybody instead of noting it in the other section so people will hopefully stop.

If it is a proper quality release, I see no reason to not re-use an existing and familiar universe. Appeal to current and maybe some fans.
The problem with your article is among other things incorrect assumptions and poor comparisons. It is also fairly poorly written and towards the end sounds like a rant.

I think the article takes it all wrong. First, you can't just blindly compare average review scores to a company's lineup then compare it to yearly revenue and loss then draw a conclusion. The water is too murky to see anything.
A better way to approach it is to distinguish between audience and platform. Assign it to some criteria that is measurable.
For instance:
a) Female and kiddie games probably doesn't have as many reviews (that alone skews the resu...
People are spoiled with downloadable games and expect low prices. When less sought after games like Raiden 4 is going to be sold for $40 retail, I consider this a steal.
It is kind of odd, downloadable games tend to be under-priced or about right, while DLC tend to be vastly over priced.
All you haters can go buy the retail version or play the Mame version (probably not even legal). I will be playing this improved version online. Enjoy!
That commercial is in my opinion one of the best executed, but the idea is kind of obvious.
I really enjoyed the commercial when it came out and that is the only one I remember.
I wish there was a way to at least play the old UMD games, either as an external attachable device, but then again this device isn't intended to be a replacement for the PSP.

It is not about stopping hardcore piracy, but to stop the casual copying. As much as you, I hate DRM, but I also dislike piracy. As I said some balance must be in place.
Now go back and re-read my post, before posting again.
People that really wants it for free will get it for free anyhow. On the other hand, no DRM is definitely not the solution. There has to be a balance.
I think companies should just put just enough DRM to prevent casual copying i.e. so easy that you can copy it any dvd burning software, but not so restrictive that it hampers every day usage. I think a simple activation is the solution like Windows XP for a period of time then release a patch to remove the check.
I'm looking forward to this game. I own all three versions out for the console of LP1. Don't have the PC version....
What do you say about people against video games especially shooters? You know, the people that blame us gamers for getting pleasure at shooting people (or animals) in game.... It is the same logic you use.
My opinion is that it might seem twisted to the person standing outside, because you don't comprehend it. However, it doesn't mean the person will go out and rape (or shoot) people.
Just for the note, I don't enjoy rape games nor do I have any experience with it. ...
