To everyone that says that Natal is just an EyeToy copy, you should really read that article. This system has complex algorithms to figure out human motion and a 3D space mapping system.
EyeToy was 2D and there were plenty of things prior to EyeToy that did similar things as EyeToy. This is a significant step up, it is like comparing black and white tube TV with an HDTV.
All the reports so far is that this system works. I haven't heard anything else yet other than f...
I want to point out that MS tends to only announced games that are being released in the near future. God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5 and the likes has appeared more than twice on E3 now. Sony has a history of doing this, remember the KillZone CGI video years ago....
Catch my drift.... Going by games, I don't think 360 owners feels there is a lack of games.
Well, the Nintendo Wii owners get the vitality thing-a-ma-jig. Isn't that what Wii owners bought their console for? A bunch of accessories. Enjoy!
Heck, I own one and frankly other than the occasional hardcore title like Mad World, Muramasa and TvC there really isn't much else that interest me.

This is a classic case of Valve customers getting spoiled. Every year we get a new Fotball, Soccer, Golf, CoD, Rockband and Guitar Hero game. do anyone complain? No. You get a sequel from a respectable company that time and time again have created highly rated games that sell well and everybody complains.
As Halo 3 MLG says, if you don't like it don't buy it. Also, there aren't too many games that get free DLC. Let me repeat that, FREE DLC on the 360! That is like winning the lot...
I swear every time I go into a 360 thread it is the same people complaining about something on the 360. Every time I go into the a PS3 related news it is the very same people complaining about the 360 that are praising their love for PS3.
Do you guys play games? How the heck do you have time to hunt down every 360 news article, complain about them, then praise the PS3 and still have time for other stuff.
I'm starting to think it is a select few that ruins the whole ...
You are correct. MS had been working on this technology for years even prior to purchasing 3DV Systems. This guy was then brought on the MS team to help. He says himself that he is only involved in application of this technology, not development.
I also want to add that I think MS maps a skeleton to your body so it can track your legs and arm movement. The Playstation Eye could only see 2D and it would be very difficult to make it understand 3D i.e. the added dimension of depth. That is why it is revolutionary. On the other hand it still has a lot of glitches that needs to be worked out, similar to how the Wii motion controls works out of the gate.
MS weren't since Nintendo is in the casual space and Sony/MS is in the hardcore. MS just merely expanded their market. Get it now?
It would be a very sad day!
Why do you think existing controllers will be abandoned? If anything developers will find a way to use both at the same time. An example is head tracking while you still use your controller, i.e. getting rid of your head motion with the analog stick and using Natal to track your head instead.
Is the Wii Motion Plus not 1:1 or close enough?
All I see is just another Wii clone.
Again, Full 1080p IS POSSIBLE with component. Your first hand result could be due to many things, but I suggest the following potential issues:
- interference from other sources unlike HDMI which is digital, component is analog and much more susceptible to interference. Digital interference appears differently.
- length of cable has significant effect when pushing 1080p. Ideally your cable should be around 3ft or 1m.
- your equipment capability to put out a strong cle...
These guys at VG247 is trying to stir up stuff by misleading people. They only quoted the following while adding their own narration or should I say wild interpretation:
“We always push to the upper limits,” he [Mark Rubin of IW] said. “It’s just a matter of working around them at this point.
His statement is more we pushed it as hard as we can now and just finding tricks to optimize further. From the video I saw, both Lost Planet 2 and the already released Gears of ...
So giving people more of what they want is milking now? So maybe companies should just withhold games to prevent milking?
As I sad before, and now again. To me milking is when you lend your name away or making a product that is inferior just to cash in. Mario might fall into that category, but Halo does not. Gran Turismo definitely fall into that category with multiple demo discs that cost money?
Just for your information, it appears more to me that MGS is being far ...
Not only do more people get to play it, but everyone gets to pick the system of their choice. Fancy free gameplay or sleeker interface. You can have either or both versions!
MS is probably avoiding what happened when they got sued for the rumble feature that affected Sony as well. In addition, ensuring your competitors have a harder time getting this important technology is just a bonus!!!
I'm not just talking about the likes of Sony for gaming, but consider Apple as well. This is likely to be released for PC's in the future for variety of applications.
Nope, but they did create surface (the touch table) as well as create one of the most sophisticated piece of software on earth, Windows!
Both Too Human and Alan Wake was announced too early. MS admitted this and considered it a marketing fiasco. Since then MS haven't REALLY announced many titles that aren't released in the near future.
You can nitpick, but it is cleat that it isn't a trend with MS unlike Sony.
