It sounds like Broken Age does great at what it's supposed to do. I'm hoping that the rescoped project doesn't turn out to be an issue in the end. I've heard the speculations surrounding the Early Access funding, and the fact that it was split in two to allow for that. Hopefully, the project hasn't become too big and expensive to handle. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, of course.

That said, It looks like Act 1 is solid. I'm most...

Sounds like the writer would have a good time in the Sims as well, sadistic as he is. It sounds like this game has building elements similar to the Sims, but with the gameplay focusing more on how to survive in space rather than guiding a person through a regular weekday. I agree on the expansion note. Having this game expand to include space exploration in an FTL manner sounds like it could be incredibly fun. However, balancing the gameplay parts could be a bit tricky. Perhaps if exploration...

I think you need to have an interest in programming and logic to play this game. As written, the puzzles are the game, and using a walkthrough here is no different than using a walkthrough for an adventure game like Grim Fandango. The premise of the game reminds me a bit of the movie, Wreck-it-Ralph, without going into too many spoilery details. It also reminds me a bit of that old browser game, notpron, by David Münnich. You had to use the source code and google to find the link and the...

The team at Double Fine Productions is good at making original titles that are remembered for a long time, even if they weren't commercial successes. By the looks of it, they also do well in finding twists to put in the traditional genres, and they have a large enough team to pull it off.

I'm really curious to see how Spacebase DF-9 pans out, and Hack 'n' Slash looks like a fun way to play through a classic genre. I bet you can beat the same puzzle in a multit...

I recommend The Stanley Parable to anyone who still hasn't played it. At least - the very least - go try out the demo. It's not a game that you want a lot of exposition for before you play it. Don't look up the reviews. Play the demo, which is a separate section to the game, and if you like the demo play the full game.

Well, I certainly don't want to cross this guy.

Haha! This must is the best thing I've read all Indie Month. Thank you, Mr. Pugh.

Oh, this new project sounds cool. Grant Kirkhope is a pretty crazy guy to hang around with, from what I gather of his appearances. I'm looking forward to having the project officially announced!

The Stanley Parable is simply amazing. I know it received some criticism from people who bought it and thought it wasn't a game, because you can "finish" it in under 5 minutes. They simply don't understand it.

I had a very good times going through the various routes in the game. It's like a choose your own adventure with seamless route changes. I guess that it could have been larger/longer, without playing the silly 4 hour game, but I have no complaints ...

I love the Disgaea series, but mainly because of the writing. I wonder how Skulls of the Shogun is in comparison. Galak-Z looks like a good game so far, and I'm eager to see how it does when it comes to release.

Galak-Z looks smooth from the development footage. I'm hoping it becomes the success they want it to be, because it really seems like they have a lot of faith in it.

I'm still a bit skeptical to VR. I've played a bit through Oculus Rift DK1, and I found that it was quite a novelty thing. Although , I hope to see it expand and grow into something huge. I would really like for it to be a success, and there's more positivity surrounding it now than ever before. With Oculus' Share and Lucky's Tale on the way, outlook is good. It's only a matter of whether the available hardware and developers can keep this ball rolling.

The interesting thing about games like Spelunky and The Binding of Isaac is that it doesn't bother you to restart. They're short games that challenge you to become good at them by repitition. But because they're short and perhaps more importantly, diverse from early on, they are really not that repetitious after all, even if you're practically doing the same thing.

In traditional roguelikes, you may have invested hours in a run, and starting over may seem like...

Interesting read. Not just anyone can become an indie developer and expect to have an easy time. Being exclusively a developer without a payroll is a risky business, needless to say. And to get paid, your game needs to be interesting enough for people to buy, and noticeable in the heap of trash that is out there today. With digital marketing, it has become easier to get your game out there regardless of its quality. Arguably too easy, but I think everyone should have a chance to show their pr...

I'm not so interested in winning The Castle Doctrine, but do comments need to mention them for the PS4 bundle as well?

I guess I'm a bit more conservative than Jason Rohrer is. Whatever that means to US Americans. I believe there should be certain preventative limits in a society to prevent utter anarchy. What you do on your own time though, as long as stuff is consensual, is completely up to you (and your companion(s)).

I agree with the thought process though. Just because you may play games and live through fantasies doesn't mean that you're anything like that in real life. You ...

It's a shame that there are unpatchable cheaters in The Castle Doctrine, with the multiple accounts thing. It really cheapens the whole experience to have your earnestly built defenses compromised by an unstoppable cheater. And I bet they get a thrill out of it as well. Perhaps some kind of IP check could prevent most casual cheaters coming into the same castle from different accounts? I don't know...

Why? That's the whole point of this game. To rob others and not get robbed.

Although, a puzzle mode could perhaps do well for this game. Robbing certain homes with a limited set of tools. Though it depends on how much of a puzzle it becomes instead of just a random guessfest.

I'm a bit tired of these kind of graphics, but it looks like a good game all in all. Replayability depends on the amount of items and traps available, and hopefully, more stuff gets added eventually.

I'd love a new DKR, but the old one is quite outdated. Doing it in either the Mario Kart style, or the original Crash Team Racing style would be pretty good. I feel the CTR style is more similar to DKR though, with the whole single player/multiplayer aspect. They have a "storyline" with a world that goes with it.

However, doesn't Microsoft/Rare now own most of the characters? I'm not sure what the licensing rules are around that issue when it comes to se...
