I had a bit of fun checking out both demos.
The Storyteller demo wasn't much compared to the current game. I like the concept, although I hope the dev manages to account for all the possibilities, which is the biggest annoyance in programs like these.
Ernesto RPG looked pretty good, even in the demo. I like puzzle games, and I thought this was quite a unique example. I just felt that it was a bit unfair, but perhaps that was the RNG showing off. I don'...
I recommend this game to everyone that has a slightest affinity for tactical role playing games. It's definitely one of my favourites. It truly gives off that role playing feel, perhaps a bit similar to the early Fallouts. If you played and loved the SNES version, this one is right up your alley.
I think FogKnight describes the game pretty well in this article.
It's good to see that they are so passionate about tactical role playing games. It's one of my favourite genres, and I think there are too few digital games out there. I think Disgaea and Shadowrun are my favourites at the moment. I guess I prefer square tiles, but the universe is extremely important. That's what drew me into those games originally.
Keep making great games! I hope Golem Arcana is a success, so that I can see a lot more from you in the future.
Golem Arcana looks like a pretty interesting direction to take table tops in. It will simplify mechanics enough to get more people interested, I think. I wonder how well it will work.
Sadly, I live in an area where it is impossible to get together and play table tops regularly, so the expense and effort outweighs the fun and rewards. ): It's easier to just get together in small groups for MTG games.
Aww yiss! I played the SNES version a lot, so needless to say, I got the PC version as soon as it was released. I simply love this game and the Shadowrun universe. Even though I knew about the kickstarter, I did not know that it was an indie production until now.
@Concertoine#1.1.10 again for the new edit, as I reached my character limit.
I don't want them to shaft me. I am arguing from an objective standpoint for Nintendo and commenting on what was written in the article. Personally, gamers don't want them to fail. Just look at these very comments and votes. Any article discussing the profitability of a console they bought, there will be a bunch of wishful thinking. Perhaps they will turn a profit this year, perhaps not.
@Theyellowflash30#1.1.8
You seemed to be replying to me, so here goes.
I was indicating that the PS4 had a successful launch and threw the Xbox One in there in parentheses because they are selling a lot more than the Wii U according to VGCharts, and it hasn't been released across all markets yet. They backtracked on their DRM and Kinect stuff, which is why they faced issues in the first place, but at least they did backtrack on these issues instead of sti...
Why would you report this as clickbait? Granted, the headline may seem like it, but the article does an in-depth analysis, and at the core it's about Nintendo's losses and why they should scrap the Wii U and focus on something else.
Smartphone markets are [probably] stealing their casual userbase, while only the old Nintendo-fans are holding onto the console for new iterations of Mario and Zelda games. Smash Bros., MK8 and possibly Bayonetta, with some oddball Mario a...
That theme song is janky... ;p But then again, perhaps that's part of the charm.
Sounds like we can expect more open-ended or sandbox-like games from these guys in the future. I hope they manage to come up with more interesting concepts before Octodad's fame starts to fade. Granted,Octodad is not exactly my kind of game, but I'm a firm believer in diversity. I think it's a good concept and game at its core.
Haha! I hadn't seen this before. Funny original parody, though the hands behind the scenes were quite obvious when Octodad panicked. He's not the real Octodad! Shame the assassin missed that imposter. A dangerous human being is on the loose.
I think you encapsulated the very essence of what I think Octodad is with this article. You're literally an awkward octopus, fearful of being discovered as he's got too far into the lie of being an ordinary human. And then the fun in playing it comes out of creating a "comedy schtick" by accident. I enjoyed reading this.
Having such a supportive community surrounding Runic Games must be really positive for them. Being validated as persons and having your work validated is basically what we all want, and it looks like RG has a lot of validation to go on. However, it is mainly because they have made good games that they have this community. And that it's not a horrible competitive community laden with teenagers, like the MOBA and FPS communities have turned out. God knows what happened there.
They are skilled people who worked in the industry for a long time. Some of them worked on the old Diablo and Hellgate: London games, so they have a lot of experience in the ARPG field. They pretty much molded the genre as we know it today.
A game doesn't always have to be hugely innovative to be good, and I think Torchlight I and II are more iterative than anything else. Sometimes, an update is good enough. Granted, it doesn't have to be as bad as the CoD and EA Spor...
Sounds like a high level of self-discipline is needed in this company. It sounds too easy to slack off without anyone watching over you, although I assume others will notice who does that and possibly confront the issue should it arise.
I admire the work ethics in Runic Games. As written, people who feel valued in turn put more value into what they do. I believe that is the case as well.
"Our fans are the best. Our whole community is positive, supportive, knowledgeable about our games, and they really make all the work worthwhile."
That's what happens when you make a good game that people crave to see happen. I think the timing was good too, with Diablo III not being what people wanted, and other ARPGs not having that same addictive gameplay.
The multiplayer aspect was the only thing holding Torchlight back, so I'm really ha...
Awesome statue, although I don't feel the need to have it on my own shelf. There are some good candidates for it already, so good luck to you guys!
I think notpron is a bit outdated today. It was a game that was debated on forums before facebook and web 2.0 was a thing. I think its entertainment value is a bit diminished in today's web society. But go ahead and take a look at it if you want, by all means! There are also some other puzzle games similar to it, but I didn't play those myself.
I'm glad that there's an incentive to create more involved comments, as some of the contest comments are quite shameless and pointless. Who decides these rules though? N4G or the indie contact? It's only been on two out of the nineteen days so far. I wouldn't mind seeing it for the rest of the month, personally.
I'm interested in playing both Spacebase DF-9 and Hack 'n' Slash. Winning a PS4 wouldn't be too bad either. ;D
Yeah, I guess it's either a typo or a slip-up since he mentioned that he made the free version of Ernesto RPG the last week in 2013 as a challenge just before that.
