I'm hoping that Facebook has no ill intent with the VR tech as well. It would e a shame to see it fall into proprietary hell with licencing fees, forced ads and usage statistics.

That said, I believe the Facebook connection has been very good for the development so far, and it could very well be that they are invested in a product Zuckerberg believes will be the next big thing. Some kind of monetization is inevitable though, but to what extent?

I have the ASUS PA249Q, and can say I am extremely happy with the quality of the display. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if there was a 16:10 version, which I generally require for PC usage. Perhaps I'll get this as a main gaming screen on the side of my art calibrated PA screen.

I haven't tried their previous gaming line (VGxxx), but I generally think quality when I see ASUS products. They have good support as well, at least in my experience. I've seen some bad ...

Well, I don't know about HAVAmedia, but people in the cities usually go to "exotic" places like the mountains or the sea to have a good time or get drunk. It's not so much because of the weather. It's pretty balanced in Oslo, with warm summers and cold winters.

There are some multiplayer games out there. I'm not sure I agree entirely with the article. Thinking back, while many games did have 2-player multiplayer, I don't recall coming back to that many games then either. A handful of the best of them was enough. We'd take turns playing the others.

Games like Bomberman and Worms exist today as well, and there are some "new" franchises like Spelunky and Towerfall which seem to do very well on the multiplayer fron...

I had this issue, I think, on my old PSP. I bought a game that wouldn't start up because of some error, but no amount of deleting and redownloading would fix it. It only affected that one game. Runs fine on CFW though!

I like what is happening here, despite not being a facebook fan. As long as the bare final product remains supportive and snoop free, I'm happy. I assume there'll be a line of these in the future, like a company would make new TVs or PC screens.

Having 4k built in wouldn't necessarily require better hardware. Running games at 4k would, but you could run lower resolutions on a high-end screen. I'm not sure where the limit goes to what our eyes can discern per m...

Shiftlings looks like a pretty good puzzler. I think the Ratchet & Clank comparison in the title is a bit of a mistake, as it looks vastly different. Definitely unique. I hope there's a possibility that they expand the game with more levels if it does well.

Sounds like it'll release for Autumn according to their pages.

SteamWorld Dig reminds at first glance me a bit of old games like Dig Dug and Boulder Dash or Supaplex. In depth, it looks evolved far beyond that, perhaps in a similar vein to Spelunky. It has its own characteristic and steampunky appeal. I look forward to seeing more from these Swedish slackers. Perhaps something about a young demon?

I think the game would do very well on the Wii U. A lot of people have a Wii U, but only for a couple of games for the most part, and for a promise that more will come in time. I think SteamWorld Dig would appeal to a lot of people. It looks like a fun and different game than what's already out there. More indie games would for sure boost its repertoire a bit.

I think the steampunk genre appeals a lot to certain people as well. It doesn't help your infamousness that it looks like a good game either!

I thought Göteborg was such a lovely, sun filled city all this time. The images lied! Why would the media do such a thing!? I thought it mainly rained over here on the West coast of Norway. Oslo gets all the good weather all year, those bastards. It is excessively hot over here too these days. I can't remember a summer like...

I have a PSP that I spent years playing, but I never got around to getting a PSVita (got a 3DS XL instead). Besides, isn't this STEAMWorld? :P I'm sure it would be fun to play on PS4/PSVita, but I don't have any of those.

I like realistic FPS games a lot, but I struggle to find friends to play cooperatively with. I usually have a friend or three that I'd get into something like this, but interest wanes fast, so I often get stuck not playing them much after all, having tried soloing a bit. It's a shame. Good thing I have other games to play as well!

Aww, the minimum requirements aren't too bad though. You can easily make those requirements for quite a cheap computer or even laptop these days. Why not treat yourself a bit? :P

Another dev who makes games he'd like to play! That's the kind of dev I would be as well. I'm sure most indie devs are like this at heart, but at least it's a good philosophy to go by.

I don't think this is the kind of game that would do well on consoles. Console shooters either need strong brand names, or follow certain tropes that makes you feel more powerful than your enemy. The realism shooters seem to do better on PCs. That's just my own opinion though. If the devs want to create a console version, all the luck to them.

I have grown weary of most of the semi-realistic FPS games out there. I liked the Red Orchestra series though, and the new survival games that try to focus on realism come off as good concepts to me as well. I think that if Insurgency is the next step for something like Red Orchestra, I'd love it.

No comment on having removed the middle touchpad? There were a bunch of changes if this is true, actually.

I think both of these are cool little indie games. Definitely outside the box as far as gameplay goes. Storyteller has evolved quite a bit since the demo on Kongregate. I love both concepts though, but I don't know if I'd pay money to play them. I feel they're more like ad-funded browser games. Depends on how big they turn out to be.

I'm not sure about the pricing, but both games do look a bit interesting. They seem like great mobile games. An editor for Storyteller would be nice, although I'm not sure how risky it would be for an indie developer to find hosting for user-generated content for a small game like this.

The star system in Storyteller is really good. Reminds me a bit of a "different paths system" in a good little game called Half-minute Hero. The gameplay reminds me a bit abo...

It's interesting to hear that being an Argentinian indie developer is somewhat lucrative. For some reason, I hadn't thought about the fact that an indie game that does well, does well regardless of borders (if language is not an issue). So he basically makes the same as someone in the USA would, taxes aside, but he living cost is lower. I guess I hadn't thought about it because I live in one of those expensive countries.
