"Sadly, with a game like ASM there is no 'done'."

It's sad, but true. I am sure that there could be endless permutations and redesigns to this game, but an important part of game development (and pretty much any job) is knowing how to set limits. I think you managed ASM well for what it is, and that's exactly how it should be: Well within your boundaries.

Hopefully, future RPGs will use Alway Sometimes Monsters as an inspiration. I don't mind them evolving this system further. I'd be stoked to see how future games could pan out.

Most RPGs have had morality. Actual choice and repercussion is a newer aspect of games though. Older games would often let you witness different moral choices in stead, and when you could choose, there wouldn't be any significant reward/penalty or change afterwards.

I'd like to see a truly decent moral system in a game. Most games fall into the black and white trap, where there is no grayzone. ASM is certainly cool in that aspect. There shouldn't be any morality m...

I wouldn't recommend going about a story-driven game like this in a random manner. It would open up for more mistakes. It looks like a well-structured "choose your own adventure" as it is. One choice leads to the next set of choices.

Heard talk about this a lil' while back. Sounds interesting. The person who played it just didn't go to work (in-game) and ended up with a terrible ending.

Oh, I see. Good to hear, and thanks for adding that. ^^,

This is how we die.

I agree. It seems to control a bit similar to how the Quake and Unreal engines would control. Although, I think the gameplay looks completely different from any of those. Fresh!

Awh... I wish my parents would teach me basic programming skills at a young age. I wanted to learn it in school as well, but there were never any programs for it until I got into university. Nowadays early programming programs (eh?) are starting to bloom, and it's definitely a useful skill to be acquainted with from an early age.

Certainly an odd take on the old danmaku genre. The gun you get seems a bit weak though. ):

This one is a simulator though. So you can get better at the real life debates. Not that it matters a whole lot when winning is impossible, however.

I wonder what the terms are on the accelerator program. It seems a bit predatory to me as it has been presented in these articles. They provide a little bit of support in exchange for royalties on developed software, in contrast to paying actual liveable salaries and marketing the software for them. It seems like they pick and choose on similar terms to regular publishers. The developers retain control over their project, but it seems like they are risking a lot more than Fire Hose here, whil...

I like the fact that indie development is so accessible nowadays, with all the programs and resources out there to support it. Anyone with some basic skill and time to spare can get into the scene.

I don't think the good games become overshadowed by the bad games, as good games somehow seem to get known in one way or another. There are gaming sites and vlogs that promote the good seeds, and all you have to do is to mail a few copies around to those guys if you really beli...

I like the pricing model of this game. Being able to watch a commercial to get a reward is pure genius. It's kind of like what old browser games used to do by offering you to click an ad to receive some currency.

I hope you'll be able to use an anonymous alias on mobile. Perhaps I'll check it out then. I don't like the whole "sign in via facebook" trend that has been going on lately.

Well, certainly if the goal of the game was to write whatever the hivemind wanted. We wouldn't want anyone to have a different opinion than our own, would we?

I wonder whether most people vote for the arguments or the subjects.

Will there be any multiplayer option? Who is the most destructive cat!? There could be a variety of fur patterns and genders to go with it. Your very own kittentity!

I think I heard about this game from Brooke "Dodger" Lawson. Notorious cat lover and real life fox.

It's an interesting concept for a game, but I wish the dev had higher ambitions for what it could be. Especially when talking about human interactions, he disappoints me. Then again, he might just be keeping his head above water, which is better than drowning in work when it comes to video game development.

"Today, there are just about as many females playing games as males" - I doubt that is the case, but the bottom line is that there are women gamers.

I don't think it matters if a game caters to a male (or female) audience, but it shouldn't be blatantly destructive in its depiction of females, males, races, etc. There will always be games inconsiderate of those factors, although there is a difference in just having it as a plot/character device and actually i...

I hope you get a human to annoy in the complete version. Trying to sit on top of their flat screen TV, bite electrical cables, eat their breakfast, sit on them while they sleep, etc.
