I remember coming home on my birthday to nothing...then mom said "go to your room!" I was confused, because I hadn't done anything, but I went nonetheless. In my room was a black & white TV and the knock-off version of Pong. Needless to say, that was the beginning of my journey in gaming.
Nice!!!
Didn't play the branded Pong, but played the knock-off version. It was my 1st game and 1st 'console'.
Don't know how possible that is!!! (RE: Kanye) LOL
Is it "Why Won't Sony Listen to the Public?" or Why won't Sony listen to ME??? It seems like every time these firmware update articles show up, there are a ton of people talking about what is not there. (which is fine) Funny thing is that everybody has a DIFFERENT priority. So, it's up to Sony to compile, prioritize, and study the feasibility of each feature. Then, decide where that fits among the other things that they have planned. People just need a bit more patience ...
While I understand the point, it becomes a bit different when parting ways with a studio that has been part of you for 10 years. That, IMO, is kind of like having to fire your friend. You wouldn't be quite as cold as firing the average joe. Then again, maybe there isn't that much left of Lionhead Studios in relation to the past and it made it easy. Either way, it DOES suck...and I've been furloughed (which essentially was fired because the company downsized and my position was eli...
True. The only thing to consider here is that there are many F2P titles that have very long beta periods. (although I think that they use that term to remind people that the game is ever evolving and won't really ever be considered "finished" because of that) My other thought is that MS didn't really see a way forward for how to profit from the game. They had to maintain the servers, keep a team together for support of the game, promote it as a F2P title (we know the blow ba...
Don't know about you, but he raised them difficulty to 'HARD'. Don't know if he got more XP though.
Saw this on PC at some point. Think it followed a F2P model at the time. But, there was in game currency to get everything...just took time and wins. Was kind of bare-bones, but still looked fun. Guess we'll see in May.
You put NFS and The Crew ahead of this and come down on him for HIS opinion??? smh
They have hinted about added tracks, track variations, and cars. Customizing probably not gonna happen beyond the livery system. (dev said at some point due to it not being a true, hardcore sim)
Probably just millions of people doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. That is damn near guaranteed at this point during online launches.
Probably not. A twitch streamer got to level 20 in about 12 hours. Some of that time was with a squad and some was alone (which was much slower). Either way, I don't see it as impossible.
If you look hard at that, what you see is essentially a boatload of services and a vehicle to push them. The problem is...they kinda forgot that (at least for most) games come first and THEY sell consoles.
Personally, I am not looking forward to the day of EA Access, Uplay Now, Activision Express, etc. (mostly fake names, but you get the idea) at all. Competition among these devs, especially 1st party, is an important part of why we get the games that we get. They are the flagship titles that put a stamp on the brand.
While I agree that corporations are indeed purely interested in the bottom line (money). I also think that Sony literally can't take it's gaming division for granted. It relies to heavily on it for overall profit margins. MS, on the other hand, could simply was it's hands and move on to the next thing and it would still be a very lucrative business. It doesn't need gaming as much as gamers seem to want it.
MS can afford to be a bit more shady (not saying that they are)...
It was expensive. But, it was also packed with features. For $600 you literally got 2 consoles in one. (the chipset for the PS2 was packed in for BC at launch) You got the cheapest, yet still one of the best, Blu-Ray players (which would run you about $1000 at the time). You got 4 USB ports, every card reader imaginable at the time, bluetooth headset connection, the option for dual OS, and WiFi. If you tried to match that feature for feature on the 360 it would have cost more than $750 and yo...
Actually, their goal was to capture the living rooms...but bu selling their brand as services. (they've flipped back and forth on speaking about the services thing, but it's rather clear) So, right now, hardware is a means to an end.
But....can they be unbroken!?!? LOL
On a serious note, very good observation. PR will PR. That's what they get the big bucks for. (that includes ALL PR) But, they also get paid to be able to reverse course, and make changes without causing too many feathers to be ruffled. Seems like, these days, MS is getting their money's worth out of Ol' Phil.
Nice!!! Loved that game.
