You can criticize the product without directly insulting those that work countless hours on the project. From everything that I read and saw, these devs are very passionate fans of Star Wars. They had a vision for a version that fits what THEY do best...and they executed it pretty well. (like the changes or not) Being against the ticking clock of a release date alongside a movie didn't help things either. What I'm saying is that these devs can only control so much. Publishers control ...
They know what it is and how you play. They just aren't ready to reveal that yet. LBP started as a platformer where you could create levels using tools. What MM has realized is that people became just as interested in the tools as the main game. So, with Dreams, they are revealing the breadth if the tools first.
Personally, I see it as a confluence of a couple of things. First, gaming was a very niche hobby typically undertaken by so called "nerds". Since "nerds" were already on the fringes, there was a lot more respect when interacting with one another (face to face) simply because it was rare to find gamers in the wild. Then, with the rise in popularity, it became less of a "nerdy" thing and more of a mainstream thing. With that came big money. This influx of money cau...
Might be one of the best parodies that I fear may be slowly coming to fruition.
My other favorite part..."Girrrl...I'm gonna wait so haaard..." LOL
If only it were just N4g!!!
Get off my lawn!!! lol
Lol
Nice!!!
Fat fingered a disagree on accident. Sorry.
That control tutorial was a bit slow. But, once you get past that, it's smooth sailing. If you've just started...you've yet to see intense! Enjoy.
Press 'X' to Jason!!! lol
Seriously, if you go in with an open mind, and not look for every nagging thing, you'll probably enjoy it. Graphically, it's held up pretty well for it being 6 years old. The mechanics are a bit dated, but work well enough. Despite the complaints about "plot holes" (which mostly occur because of the branching narrative), the overall story is really good. TLU, and even Beyond Two Souls, raised the bar on the acting. But, imo, it does...
Don't forget the music!!! I agree...games are an amalgamation of several different art forms.
Very true. If a person can strip naked and take a dump in the middle of Time Square and call it performance art, then ANYTHING can be art.
Never doubted it!!! lol
It's STILL mainly about exploration. It's the mechanism that they are using to drive the exploration that is becoming more and more clear. (and IMO interesting) Nice to see you kept an open mind.
And to have to learn their specific languages though clues left behind in that almost infinite amount of space...really clever mechanic to drive exploration.
All day...everyday!!! lol
Agreed. As long. as the game itself actually has something to teach. I don't see the point for the average game. However, for those that immerse you in the culture, it can be interesting.
BOTH ways!!! LOL
Except the game...THAT was a good thing. lol
You ever think that it wasn't by accident that the game tied to one of the largest franchises on earth is more accessible and less deep than their usual franchise? That was likely a decision, made by the publisher, to get more market penetration.
