Well, something can't really be overrated without being successful first... So...yeah...
It's funny to me how all the boys screaming about how many awards UC2 got don't realize they're kind of supporting the idea of how overrated it is. Which it is. Very very much so. Graphics and sound aside, it's a standard platformer with guns.
I love both these franchises but if it weren't for the logitech wheel, I would never play GT the way I do now. The beauty of Forza is the control as mapped to a controller and this is really helped by the 360 triggers and sticks. It's the most perfect controller interface aside from having the wheel. The DS3 is retarded when it comes to racing games.
Aside from that, I agree GT does a lot of things that Forza doesn't, but there's a charm to Forza that GT just...
I think Kinect is the kind of thing that I'd see at a friend's house and try out and think "Wow! This is kinda cool!" And he'd say, "Yeah! You should buy it!" and I'd laugh and say, "No! That's what you're for!"
Despite its games at launch, I think (read, "hope") hardcore games will be coming. There's a bunch of ways they could incorporate this with a controller into making existing hardcore games more immers...

I think the first UC was a little overhyped, but not UC2. It was a breathtaking experience. Although, it doesn't have much replay value for me. Beyond the graphics and set pieces, I don't see much innovation in it. I know plenty will disagree. But as a playable movie, it delivers.
KZ2 - while it grows on me the more I play it and it's certainly BEAUTIFUL, I still don't think it lived up to the target render. And the story was lame.

I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2. For starters, I was thrilled they scrapped the infini-spawn technique and actually allowed you to clear out sections before moving on. Also, as has been said already, it brings a nice cinematic flare to its storytelling. Some people might see the spectacle of a domestic US invasion as "cheap" but I was enthralled. And Lance Henrikson made an otherwise blase villain quite memorable. Also, the covert ops missions were great fun with a buddy.
I think you're speaking for yourself. The fact that the game is getting a sequel sort of speaks to the fact that there are fans.
Waiting for the prices to drop. But even more importantly, waiting for a standard to be implemented. And that will only happen once broadcasters get into the mix. What's the point in buying a TV if the format changes 3 years down the road.

I'm so tired of this focus on graphics. Fun comes first. Which is why I've been less than impressed with GOW3, KZ2, UC1&2. They look great but don't deliver anything new.
