doa says: "on 360 the main game is split on two discs and it really breaks the ilussion of a universe you can freely explore"

Couldn't agree less. It's true you have to switch discs, but you can still travel freely throughout the universe, revisiting old planets and locations whenever you want.

I'm no expert, but I thought the PS3 demo played worse than the 360 full game with screen tearing and an overall darker, more contrasty tone.

I love my Fanatec. If you're looking for dual-console compatibility, it's the best wheel out there and definitely holds its own against the Logitech line.

@ Vulcan:
I see what you're saying, but by that logic, given the choice between a Michael Bay movie shot on HD and a Coen Bros or Scorcese movie shot on 16mm, you would choose the one with the "better tech specs." I'm always wary of these comparisons because artistry doesn't come from technical power, it comes from limitations.

I do think the 360 is approaching maxed out if it's not there already, but most of my favorite games from the las...

THAT is the golden nugget of truth. Everyone wins this generation. Wars and comparisons are for tools.

insomnium sounds pretty butt hurt. For his sake, I really hope the PS3 does overtake 360.

Forget hardware failure. More than half the people I know who own PS3's use them only as a bluray player. They don't even buy games.

Point being this: not everyone who buys a PS3 is a card-carrying fanboy. Some of you seem to think or want the opposite. As if one day the great armies of MS and Sony will meet on the barren fields of cyberspace and wage war.

"Now if some one chooses to be ignorant and believe what is told to them by one source then that's on them."

Agreed but only up to a point. The thing about ignorance is it goes undetected by the people who suffer from it - no one chooses to be ignorant. Most (if not all) of the people who watch Fox News watch it because it reflects and reenforces the beliefs they already have (i.e. liberals are bad, Obama's a socialist, US is a Christian nation, etc). Well said Zachmo. Scentless also seems to be senseless. I feel sorry for the narrow-minded among us who are blind to anything but exclusives. I agree PS3 has been setting the tech bar very high, but seldom has that bar ever correlated with fun or good.

Just ask Michael Bay. Or modern day George Lucas.

I was beyond impressed by RDR's graphics and tech. I know exclusivists only care about how many polygons games like UC2 or GOW3 can put on screen, but the sheer size and beauty of RDR dropped my jaw. I've never seen a more fully realized, alive, and organic game world before.

Not really sure how you can say the 360's line-up sucks, because 8 of those 11 are available on it. I never understood why PS3 enthusiasts pretend that multiplats don't exist. Some of my favorite games from this gen have been multiplat.

lol @ phantom disagrees. PS3 fanboys never disappoint.

It's funny how they never gave a shit about ME before. In fact, some of them shit all over it because it was a lowly xbox exclusive. Now, the second you mention one unflattering thing about the port, they get all pissy.

Change your tampons people. Just be glad you're getting this game. It's one of the best written stories out there. Which proves my point that true genius and inspiration do...

The amount of time they put into this, I really hope they support it for the long run.

Oh man, this made me laugh. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I needed that.

GT5 does more to bring fanboys out of the woodwork than it does to expose so-called garbage journalists. These journalists are just like you and me, dudes who like to play video games. If you were handed a copy of Forza, that would prove you as a garbage journalist. You'd be unable to acknowledge what the game gets right simply because it's on Xbox instead of PS3. In short, it all comes down...

I think the take-away here is that ME2 looks about just as good on PS3 as it does on 360, which is to be commended given the difficulties with porting to PS3. Anything else is impossible to judge as the consoles have entirely different video out standards, gamma, and chroma settings.

If I were a PS3 only guy, I'd be damn happy that the game hasn't been gimped by the process.

I don't want to get flamed or anything, but 5 of the 6 things that you listed...Forza already does.

Oh, who am I kidding. Flame away! =)

Yeah, that's my biggest complaint with the game is the menu system. It's not very streamlined at all.

Forza, for instance, makes it very easy to find a race. If you're current car doesn't qualify, it sends you right to your garage and shows you the ones that do. And if you don't have any qualifying cars - and here's what GT needs to start doing - it will take you to the dealerships and show you just the cars that can compete.

Game just keeps getting better. I know it's a long shot, but I'd love for them to add better Fanatec support in the options menu.

All this talk about core games is just silly. PS3 launched with Resistance and that's about it. So by your logic, no one should have bought a PS3 because there were no games for it.

But those of us with patience and foresight knew that the games really worth playing were in the pipeline. Same applies to Kinect. Hardcore gaming isn't going anywhere.

This is like the film vs. HD argument: ten years ago, George Lucas said he's be surprised if anyone ...
