Never played a Yakuza game but this looks impressive for a remake.
When comparing those images it's hard to believe that there was a time when PS2 graphics blew my mind. Goes to show how far graphics have come in video games.
@darren_poolies: "Do we really need just another console though?"
At least that's what I want. I don't think Nintendo needs gimmicks to stand out. If you think Nintendo do you think Wii-mote or tablet controler? Or do you think Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid and so on? I think Nintendo stands out with their games. The SNES is still my absolute favorite Nintendo console and it's arguably one of the best consoles ever created. It didn't have gimmic...
I really hope that Nintendo stops the focus on gimmicky features with the NX and focuses their recources on a more "standard" games console. Nintendo is in a tough spot already releasing in between 2 generations so they should focus on launching a powerful console that is attractive to 3rd party developers.
Unfortunately I think the odds that Nintendo screws this up are pretty high. Hopefully they can prove me wrong though.
Agreed. I recently picked up Diablo 3 and it really bothered me that I couldn't raise the difficulty to anything remotely challenging before reaching level 60 which only happened two thirds through the campaign. I killed the main boss of act 2 in less than 3 seconds!!! I actually had to force myself to keep playing because I wasn't having any fun since the game was so ridiculously easy.
But even when I unlocked the "torment" difficulties I couldn't raise...
No. That's why I doubt that Valve will ever make it happen.
Edit: To be fair that's the same thing I thought about an FFVII remake.
"I'm sorry but everything apart from graphics, visuals and possibly music (debatable) took a step back."
The first thing that comes to mind that was a huge step foreward for me is gameplay. Infamous always had fun gameplay but SP nailed it with Second son and surpassed both previous games in that regard by a long shot.
I agree the story wasn't as interessting as it was in both Infamous 1 and 2 so that's something they can improve on if ...
I always recommend to spend some money on a good case. Often times people go for a very cheap case to save some money. A good cable management is a must imo. Not only does it look better but it more importantly allows a good airflow inside the case.
You could also play free to play games, rent games, buy used games cheaper, save up money, watch let's plays or get a better paid job so you can afford to buy more games.
I was thinking PSVR might cost something between 300 and 400 bucks but that seems unrealistic now considering Oculus and PSVR are similar tech. At $600 VR will have a hard time selling imo. I might have spent 300 just for the tech alone but for 600 I really need to see a lot more great VR games to back up such an investment.
I disagree. The devs got their salery the publishers got the profits and the gamers got the entertainment. Gabe doesn't owe us anything imo.
I'm not going wild on these sales anymore. I already have a huge backlog of games on PC , PS3 and PS4. We get those sales fairly often so I don't really see a reason to buy any games that are on sale unless I know I'm going to play them soon.
I know what you mean. I have so many great memories with Konami games it's hard to accept what they've become. But they've been going downhill for many years and I doubt that they can or even have any interesst in redeeming themselves.
Agreed. I prefer the original look.
@SmeargleFlint:
Not sure why you're bringing up the Wii-U to disprove my point. If anything it confirms that most publishers have no interesst in bringing big budget games to a poor selling platform. The Wii-U barely gets any AAA games apart from Nintendo published games.
Also as far as I know Kojima wasn't directly involved in most of the smaller Metal Gear games aside from producing them (With Peace Walker being the exception).
Ok I...
The PSVita has a very small install base. There is no way you're getting a AAA Kojima game on the Vita.
Also this statement makes it sound more like he's working on a PS4+VR game to me:
It expresses the vision of "aiming the new world with the latest technology and pioneering spirit".
"Yup! Looks like everybody's wish has been granted."
Wow. Today is my birthday too. What a great birthday gift that is. Can't wait to see what's inside.
@NewMonday: I'm wondering if the logo has anything to do with the new franchise he's working on.
Doesn't have much to do with bandwidth. When Sony recommends developing games to run at 120fps that's due to keeping the latency as low as possible. Simply speaking 120fps means around 8.3ms latency while 60fps would be 16.7. Those 8.3ms can make can make a difference between feeling motion sick and enjoying the experience. The ping you'd have would totally ruin all of this and make it unplayable because the latency would skyrocket.
It's easy to spot the similarities to Ninja Gaiden which isn't surprising given it's the same developer. I really like the setting. It has quitely snuck into my list of my most anticipated games.
Uncharted 4. There are so many great games coming out in 2016 though so it'S hard to decide.
I'm sure they showed him some cool stuff. Hopefully Kojima could get some inspiration from all the amazing places he visited.
