I agree. That is something most publishers should understand by now. If at least 60-80% of games show gameplay, I'm personally fine with some in-engine trailers filling out the show. But pre-rendered CGI trailers have no place in these shows, especially when they are supposed to make us excited for next-gen hardware.
Agreed. The announcement of the mere existence of a sequel won't have much of an effect unless we're talking about a highly anticipated franchise. Some franchises can get away with it. State of Decay is not one of them.
Xbox show probably broke his brain.
Hey, look! The cardboard audience people from racing games are getting their own spinoff.
Snippets in trailers, but nothing that would qualify as a gameplay demo imo.
Well that was disappointing. We're 4 months or so away from the release of these consoles. Why aren't they showing us more gameplay at this point? And why the hell do they still use prerendered trailers?
Medium here we go.
@Kyro: Not being held back by last gen was always gonna be bullshit. With that being said I was surprised to see some really low res textures like the overall of the pilot dude. Those things are actually scalable and they didn't even look that great.
Not gonna lie. I'm pissed about that.
It's a cross gen game. I have no clue about Halo, It does look fun though.
@Marquinho: Yeah I don't know what to expect from the Initiative, so I wouldn't know where to put them at the moment. They are pretty much a wild card which makes it kinda exciting.
And I agree next gen should be much more interesting. Xbox is looking much stronger than they have at the beginning of the current generation.
Hard to say what that means at this point. It might just indicate that they aren't seperate levels, which we already knew. Dual-realty puzzles sound like the player has some control over the world-shift feature. I guess we'll know how it works in 2 hours or so.
It's definitely not just you. They've made it clear that Halo is the headliner. And I doubt anyone can get mad about them showing of a new Forza game, but if they wanna move the needle for people that aren't already invested in the Xbox ecosystem, new IPs are a necessity.
I doubt that all of those studio acquisitions will work out in the end. I'm optimistic about Ninja Theory, Playground Games and Obsidian. They are already good studios that could greatly benefit from the structure and funding that Microsoft can provide and become part of the backbone of Xbox Game Studios.
InXile and Double Fine could go either way in my opinion. Will be interesting to see whether Microsoft is planning to scale them up, or keep them smaller.

Hyped to see some gameplay later today. I'm interested to see how the transitions between real and spirit world will work ingame.
Sony has no say in what platforms Stray releases on. It's published by Annapurna Interactive.
I thought it was announced for Stream, PS5 and PS4.
Edit: Wikipedia lists PS4 as well, but on the Playstation and Annapurna youtube channels it only says PS5 and PC. I guess Wikipedia has it wrong then.
Thanks for the input everyone, I'll pick up Judgment and see if I like the type of game before jumping into the Yakuza series.
If I like it I might actually go ahead and purchase the PS2 versions of Yakuza 1 and 2 to play them all chronologically in the order they came out in. I usually prefer doing that instead of the story timeline order, because I get to see how the games evolved and I won't spoil myself with story bits, that I wasn't supposed to know at this...
GoW isn't announced yet. I wouldn't count on seeing it before summer next year.
It's not even the look of the game that threw me off. I wasn't expecting a graphical benchmark, considering it's a cross-gen game. The lack of polish was somewhat shocking though. Constant pop in for shadows and foliage that's fairly close to the player, tires of the vehicle clipping through the ground, explosion fragments getting stuck in mid air, light maps taking a second to correctly load in after the minimap is closed and some really low res textures.
