Nobody actually thinks they'll increase the price to 100$, it's just a website looking for hits by misinterpreting statements, fueling fanboy rage in the process.

By “further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base”, the actual meaning is to get them to spend more on stuff. Notice they didn't say GOLD LIVE subscribers but refered to all live subscribers.
And how do you "monetize" subscribers? By giving them extra stuff they are willi...

@VanillaBear,

What makes you think that Crytek focused too much on the 360? According to all prior information they actually had to focue more on the PS3 version because of the limiting hardware architecture, not to mention the fact that Sony themselves admitted they made life harder on developers:

While I was wondering just like you why Alpha attributed all these games to Santa Monica while ignoring the actual developers, I still find a flaw in your arguments:

You complain that we We already have 2 unnecessary prequels, right? But it's now you who's forgetting that both these games were also not developed by Santa Monica but rather by Ready at Dawn. How about you let Santa Monica come up with their own prequel and see how good it is before claiming that "w...

Yes he said that, but within context about choices you can make within the game. If you change your mind and do want to give him hits he actually raised some interesting points (I still disagree with most of them).

But I must protest against you using Ninja Gaiden 3 metacritic as representative of the franchise. This game which was made after Team Ninja broke apart was a dud, so at least be decent enough to bring up NG2/NGS2 which were far superior...

Yes, the entire list is quire poorly written. It's missing on some truely horrible sequels like the latest Call of Juarez, C&C4 and Operation Flashpoint: Red River, while at the same time including some very good games like Rockband and Nuts & Bolts, which is actually superior to previous BK games but simply strays quite a lot from the old formula.

The list is also not able to distinguish between proper sequels, reboots, and completely different franchises.

Septic, I'm sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about. Halo games run a distributed networking model. It's not synchronous and the host has no advantage because each machine is running the entire model:

Dedicated server model on the other hand will give advantage to people closer to the server (with lower ping)...

What people here seem to miss is that many shooter fans will buy both anyway. And if you can get two birds while only standing in line for one midnight release, why not?

So while some people who can only afford one game will have to skip or wait with one, other people who were on their way to pick up just one game might end up with 2.
All of this is assuming that the games actually release on the same day. My guess... they won't.

@Onar, you're not very good with math, huh?

Sales flacutate over time. The PS3 already shrunk the gap to 1.6M and since then the X360 increased it to around 2M.

baodeus carefully interpolated the data FROM THE LAST WEEK (which is the subject of the article, in case your reading comprehension skills are not very good) and calculated the rate at which the PS3 will take over the X360 if the CURRENT RATE continues. And currently, both consoles are selling nec...

@krazykombatant
You're deluding yourself if you think that DA has nothing to do with EA era of Bioware. The game was conceptualized earlier but only went into full scale development after ME1, and spent around 2.5 years under the EA umbrella, as did Awakening which was an excellent expansion.
DA2 was a dud, but not every Bioware game is a hit: NWN was good but not great, and the same goes for Jade Empire.

You are mixing your personal preference with the c...

I have no idea what you mean by "The graphics were was than Double agent"... but graphics wise the game looked great.

I also don't have the first clue what you mean in "HAD to kill everyone", as I believe I probably evaded 50% of the enemies in the game (especially on the realistic difficulty where it's a good idea to just leave some of them alone).

The single players wasn't the best in the franchise but if definitely added so...

What? The co-op campaign was amazing in SC:C, better even than the single player campaign and perhaps the most tactical of the SC series when played on realistic difficulty.

This list is quite nice in general, although it's missing on a quick fix of Castle Crashers - Perhaps the best 4 player co-op game I played in recent years.

What? While I totally agree with wenaldy on the difficulty thing (when playing in a proper difficulty button mashing won't get you anywhere), and while I agree with you that the gameplay does break up with nice puzzle sections... I wouldn't praise too much the backstory and motivation of a character like Kratos. It's basically a greek mythology ripoff with a pretty cardboard cut main character which can be summed up in the single word "angry". In the third game especiall...

Exactly.
I disagree with some games in the list: I see how they might have been considered for their time, but today there's nothing really immerse about them - just like how I thought Alone in the Dark was the most immersive game back then thanks to the atmosphere that went all the way down to the squeaky door sound effect, but I wouldn't really call it immersive this day and age.

But Bioshock is def. number one to this day and age. Rapture is one of the (if...

How is Blizzard menatining high ground? If anything, Bioware managed to pump out great games at an amazing rate since acquired by EA, working simultaneously on five games in three franchises (TOR, ME, DA).
Blizzard on the other hand focused mostly on keeping the WOW cash cow with extensions, and released just a single game since: Starcraft 2. Not to mention how this game was delayed again and again, and eventually the campaign split into three different games so people will have to sh...
