Well, steam is Valve's IP ;)

But I heard there's gonna be some spectacular news about the upcoming Team Ricochet soon.

I think you have some deep misunderstanding on what an ARPG is... Complaining about that one game in my list is a plain shooter where the IGN list includes games like Little King's Story which is in fact a simulation-adventure hybrid, (not to mention The Last Story which I now see they put in their list but is already out in the west - just grab a European copy) sounds like someone who got a very narrow understanding on what the core of role playing games is (A clue: it's role playing...

I don't get it: why is Anarchy Reigns missing from that list? The game is scheduled for Q3.

I predict Deadlight to make an appearance. They just came up with an amazing new trailer:

Hopefully Dust: An Elysian Tail will also make an appearance. This game is being developed for quite a lot of time.

@Raoh
You forgot a controller with no rumble, because rumble "is a last gen feature":

Yep, not so much arrogance I guess ;)

The biggest Role Playing games of 2012!?
Too bad they forgot 2012 is already half over: The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition, Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3, Dragons Dogma, Legend of Grimrock, Final Fantasy 13-2, Kingdom of Amalur, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Risen 2 are already out... Can't see how the second half a year can even come close to this half.

It's Bungie, not Activision, and this makes sense: They don't want their biggest competitors in the FPS market working on porting their game (and only in the case Bungie doesn't want to port it themselves in the first place), because then they might have a conflict of interest: Valve, Epic, and Gearbox want first and foremost their own games to succeed, and working on a game from a competing franchise will probably take the back seat and will get less than perfect treatment.

If you think FPS maps are less complex these days, you are clearly playing the wrong games.
Once the Nostalgia wears off, you come to realize that Doom games were just series of corridors with keys locking doors forcing you to backtrack through the same level 3 or 4 times, and the only reason you got lost was mostly because of very primitive/infant design trends (3D was just starting back then).

Sure, some shooters today are linear with set pieces and scripted events ...

This list is pretty much a fail. Fuel and Daggerfall not on the list !? GTA IV But no San Andreas!? They didn't even do some basic homework:

This will be the announcement of the decade.

Halo 3 was not only a good game, but pretty much revolutionized what games are about this generation: single player, mutliplayer full fledged campaign co-op, score metagame, full game replays and clip editing in theater mode, co-op level editing while fighting between two teams in forge mode, sharing game types, maps, movies, screenshots inside the online community, integrating the game with full fledged online statistics: from individual, to cumulative, to heatmaps, highly customizable multi...

"Sorry to burst your bubble but that just isn't the case. Massive court battles have been decisively lost because someone patented an idea that never went into action and someone else used it."
Try to learn how patent law works, and then come back. Those "massive court battles" (which are in 99% of the cases not even settled in court) are for PATENTS THAT WERE USED. In fact, if you try hard you won't be able to find a single court case where a patent holder...

@Lilioups

WOW! You are so left out on actual games to play so far this year, that you're holding your hopes up for games that weren't even announced, let alone will be available in 2012...

Yeah, I hope you're really enjoying your new Guerilla game right now while "xbox fangirls" are left to play non-exclusive games like The Witcher 2, Alan Wake and Minecraft - alongside the exclusive Sine Mora, Fez and Trials HD which you seemed to forge...

Do you know how funny this sounds!? "They only patented it to prevent competition from using it, and will not use it themselves!"

A) You can't patents something only to prevent competition from using it. If you don't exercise or license it yourself the patent rights can be provoked
B) Registering a patent is a costly affair. If you already hold the rights to it and it gives you leverage over the competition, why not use it? That's the dumbest bus...

Bethesda didn't make Rouge Warrior, they just published it. The game was developed by Zombie Studios/Rebellion (both pretty mediocre ones).
Try harder next time

DK286 pretty much nailed it with his list of games (although I would wait for unreleased games before considering them as quality titles).
MS is coming on strong from what is a very good first half of 2012, especially considering the competition this year (The Wii is mostly a no-show, and the PS3 exclusives didn't quite hit it high except for Journey). The "small handful of core games", as Hicken puts it, so far surpasses anything the competition had to offer this year s...

They're still 60Hz. The 100/120/200/240/600Hz etc you see is just interpolation of the 60 frames you get from the input, and in fact it's a pretty annoying effect if you wish to play games (because it increases the lag and because of the artifacts).

Most people who claim they play on 120FPS simply don't know what they're talking about: there are barely any connections that actually allow you to pass 120FPS on a cable, and most screens don't support it. Ev...

Your second comment:
"Starhawk sold 69,865 copies it debut week in the NA"
"Second week sales(those in this article) have dropped but from 60k to 20k in the NA (Making it 80k now)"
so 69865 copies is 60K in your booking?

And from your first comment:
"Just noticed that the Starhawk sales have bumped up as well (Were at 60k, now they're at 108,168)"

So combining the two, 1...

"Now compare this to Modern Warfare.
A lot of over-the-top sequences, sure. But was it fun? Let’s rather say; was it as fun? "

Jumping from the sinking ship, storming the TV building looking for Al-Asad only to find jack S%!T, that flashback mission in all ghillied up, the (futile) helicopter rescue mission, the mile high club mission on the airplane...

So yes it was fun. Some of the best gameplay moment I experienced this gen in fact.
