KZ2 never was "strategic'. Perhaps "tactical" (which is a different term) - at least in multiplayer.
In single player it wasn't even that: when the best tactic was always to run towards the enemies with a drawn knife because the AI can't handle CQB, even that aspect is mitigated. KZ3 single player was better.
And just like God's creations, Cage's game start up nicely with a good promise, and then turn into a clusterf*** somewhere around the middle.
I mean come on: a cult of internet beings in Indigo Prophecy trying to take over the world!? That sounds almost as retarded as building a world and then flooding it, leaving two pairs of each species to procreate afterwards.
So you're basically one of those "fans" who want each iteration of their game to look and play exactly the same like the last one?
And then people go and complain about COD. Go figure...
People who hate unreleased games are not fans, just fanboys.
@HammadTheOne:
Earlier Zelda and Mario had their share of bugs and were obviously very ambitious for their time.
But since you mentioned Bethesda: neither of the series today has anything which comes close to the scope of games like Skyrim. Come'on! Mario and Zelda games don't even include trivial stuff like proper audio for dialog, so lets not even mention stuff like AI, branching story, seamless world or HD graphics. The bigger the scope the more li...
How to write a dumb article on FPS games in 5 steps:
1) Complain about Halo and how Mater Chief is used, dies, come back, etc where in fact he wasn't actually part of the series ever since 2007. Also complain about fighting against the covenant when the new game was clearly set to fight against a new faction.
Too prove how ignorant you are of this series, please also attach a screenshot from an RTS game.
2) Complain about the Ghost Recon series of...
Naah, the game still runs on Capcom MT Framework, and like all games using this engine they look best on a capable PC, followed by the X360 with the PS3 slightly trailing behind.
Based on history, I wouldn't develop different expectations from this release.
Your point? Zynga games are pretty bug free, but they're plain copycat crap. If your game doesn't have any bugs AT ALL, it's probably just not ambitious enough.
Actually, it seems that more recently MS is opening more and more studios and also acquiring others, not closing them.
While I agree with PoSTedUP - OVOXO_Mike brought it on himself, I'm still amazed time and time again about the "i might be less of a game but it's more sim" comments:
How is a game with 80% low-poly car models, less extensive physics mechanics, weaker collision system, less customization, lacking tire simulation, and less impressive sound effects can be considered "more" simulator? Because it has rain and weather effects?
@Axonometri
"You know what really keeps people stoked, something new"
Yeah, tell that to the flamboyant fanboys who heard that SC:Conviction is introducing new M&E mechanics, B&W stealth indication etc. and is getting rid of carrying bodies around...
Yeah, they must save the high scores for GTA V because god forbid if they give two different games which are about a year apart a 9.0+ score! They obviously have a very limited score resource allocation (probably because of the recession) and so they're now saving up for a game that isn't even out.
:/
SilentNegotiator, did you actually play the game before declaring it's not challenging? Or read any review about it saying that?
You talked about Jurney as well, and while I can agree that it wasn't super-challenging - it wasn't the purpose of the game to be challenging in the first place - it was a game about exploration.
But if you read the Dust reviews in Metacritic (haven't played it myself), they all claim the exact opposite of what you s...
I'm a bit surprised about you claim on how Tribes is a twitch shooter. It's not nearly as fast paced as older games like Quake and UT - in fact it's closest to Halo in its form. The vehicles aren't nearly as good here, but no other game got the vehicles right like halo or even close to it - Starhawk included.
Sure, Starhawk has those extra RTS-like features similar to games such as The Outfit - but the gunplay is simply not as deep as the one you're gettin...
So, you're a fan of beastiality I presume?
Actually they mentioned the F2P Tribes: Ascend which is far superior as a multiplayer game
An original story about man and a girl in a city with infected.... wait isn't this the general plot of some Resident Evils?
I guess it was decent, but Fable 2 was way superior to it.
Can't really understand including Fable in this list because out of just 3 games the second one was clearly the best. Claiming "it's not what it used to be" is kind of misleading.
And yet, even all of them together don't compete with the sheer douchebaggy of "people should get an extra job to afford our product".
Dan Greenwalt on the other hand is actually very passionate about his job and seems to love games - don't see any problem there.
Also: Tim Langdell from Edge should make a special appearance in such a list.
Just one correction: KZ2 was only using 50-60% of the *SPUs*, not of the entire PS3. That's because the console is more memory and graphics card bound than CPU bound. a 50-60% usage is just a sign of inefficient programing/architecture which indicates problematic bottlenecks. Otherwise, why not spice things up and utilize the entire 100%?
It's like I'll be sticking a 64GB DDR5 RAM module on a 5 years old PC and then claim that a game is using only 1% of that total...
